You may be thinking, "Only the old folks go there" but I can assure you, while that is the…read moremajority, it's not everyone. And if you have some rare, hardly known disease or an injury, they are entirely worth a visit -- or several. For me, I had tried several different physical therapy places. This over a range of time, somewhere in the 2000-aughts to now. It was usually a failure. Places that cannot do aught but follow the script will not be able to work with all. That script includes: - Three sets of 10 - Losing the patient's interest - not adjusting the exercises to fit the individual's need Those are the three big ones for me. It sounds so weird to anyone who has the ability to concentrate, keep the count, not get lost in music (but I really need that, so there is not as much input on my part with dead silence), and adult-onset dystrophia myotonia D-PROMM Type II is an infrequently mentioned disease. But at this SportsCare, I have gotten to know everyone (just about). The first person I had met was Michael Cote, a fun, smart 29-year-old guy (at the time - he may have hit the BIG 3-0 now!); I learned something very, very important: I can learn a lot from a "kid" of 30 (I'm 58 now) as I can a person of 85. I love that. He taught me a lot of the world that I just did not know. And I learn from every one of them: Tim, who just had a daughter; Ron, who loves punk music; Sophie, who hails from Michigan (a lovely state); Gina, who is sweet! Chelsea, David...I haven't the room to name them all. They are all very committed, have worked with all my specific oddities, and for me, this is a lifetime endeavour. With the folks here as dedicated as they are, I don't mind the prospect nearly so much. Every physical challenge I face, they are invested in swapping out various exercises, movements, I videoed my very difficult getting up the stairs in our house, and they have it, look at it to determine the next steps. THAT is truly the love of the art! They all try so hard to work with me -- and utterly succeed. No question.

After some surgeries and home depot-sized screws put in my arms, it was time to search for a PT place near Randolph (I was recovering with family in NJ). Much to my surprise, the area is saturated with PT places! After numerous calls to other locations, I ended up calling Professional Physical Therapy and spoke to the kindest person on the other end of the call, "Thank you for calling Professional Physical Therapy, this is Hope speaking. How can I help you today?" The kindness and the care that I had in that one phone call told me that choosing this place would be the right fit. Hope was able to walk me through the entire process and helped in any way she could to make for a smoother experience for me (especially because I was in full arm splints at that point). From the very first day of being introduced to all the staff members including Hope, Blake, Michelle, Alex, and Hector (now promoted and at a new location) I knew it was going to be the right decision. They took the time to understand my goals post-surgery and get me back to having functioning arms. When I first started going to PT it was the bright spot of my day. Patients recovering in a pandemic can relate to how isolating it can get. They were able to relate to topics that range from Netflix, books, food, travel, fatherhood/motherhood, houses on the market, camping, and the list goes on. I found myself laughing wholeheartedly after a very long time after a very unexpected accident that flipped my world upside down. I started feeling like my old self during my PT sessions especially when I got to interact with such friendly, knowledgeable, and relatable professionals. I also got to meet amazing patients getting PT at the same time. Everyone was so friendly; I really felt a sense of community. Some of us would even schedule our future appointments together. I was very nervous about joining a PT group while Covid was on the rise once again, but they took every precaution to make me feel comfortable. Everything was wiped down and disinfected after each patient; masks were on at all times, and temperature scans were taken at check-in. I appreciated that there are smaller groups during the sessions. Each physical therapist has about 3-4 patients during their busiest times so you continue to get the one-on-one care throughout the session. I got cleared to drive and needed to go back to my original home in Delaware, but I still make the drive all the way to Randolph because the office and staff are exceptional. The level of service, professionalism, and kindness is all white glove treatment. Everyone goes above and beyond in every way to make healing easier for the patients. They are flexible with their appointments, proactive with insurance companies and doctor's offices, will advocate for you as their patient, and incorporate PT that is both comfortable and challenging throughout your recovery. Staff was nice/friendly, however everything else not-so-good! The organization charged me a separate fee just for my after-visit summary notes. This is in addition to my co-pays and everything the insurance paid. There was no prior discussion regarding this. I have never paid for after-summary visit notes which I should have access to. Patients need two separate portals regarding transacting business with this organization rather than just one especially for summary notes, billing... ZERO way to actually message the organization through either of the portals. This is a major red flag. No weekend hours: Really? People work and have school. Obviously not enough business to staff the weekends like other physical therapy organizations do. During my sessions my back was injured with a new injury caused directly by the physical therapy. I contacted both my personal physical therapist and the organization through email and was ignored. Thanks! They cannot even get their address right (Website and business cards) as there are multiple buildings in the parking area and their building is not identified. BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE! So I came home today called up another place and they were willing to give me an appointment tomorrow, and two more next week. After the push from a PT friend, and reading all the fantastic reviews here, I decided to give it a go. From the first visit, I felt like family.
