I've been an Ivy Exec member for a number of years and have been active as a Mentor as part of the Mentor program since its inception. My experience with Ivy Exec has been very positive. Like any fee membership service, you will draw benefit if you are willing to spend time utilizing the resources available to you via the membership. The Mentor program where they work to match up Mentees and experienced Mentors to help provide professional advice and be an independent sounding board in many areas of career and professional development is truly unique and can be of great benefit to those willing to use it. Think about it this way, what other recruiting service can set up a virtual meeting/discussion and networking opportunities with a pre-screened group of highly qualified and experienced professionals from all over the world who are willing to share their time, insight, and experiences with you? I've had the opportunity to Mentor and work with members from all over the world at different stages of their career on all sorts of topics ranging from job search strategies, changing careers and gears, and even graduate school. The Mentor/Mentee matching isn't always perfect but I've found that the Ivy Exec staff does a very good job with the initial screening and matching to maximize successful introductions. I can also say that I've personally benefited as well by seeking advice and speaking with other Mentors in the network. Although today's virtual workplace is more networked, opportunities to find good Mentors and get good career development advice is becoming more awkward and scarce because our workplace has become quite impersonal,. I give a mixed review about Ivy Exec. I saw and experienced some things that were not professional and did some investigating. From doing a Google search, it appears the Better Business Bureau shows numerous complaints, even giving the company a grade of "F" and not allowing them to register. Other sites such as Glassdoor indicate something about potential or past employees saying some comments. To be fair, these do not represent everyone and may very well be the exceptions. Additionally, some have said owner Elena Bajic never had Wall Street experience, yet is trying to make money recruiting experienced people. There were some other comments made from her colleagues from business school, New York alumni network, etc. about sincerity and professionalism. Again, these are just things I was told about the company and owner, not scientific fact. Let us hope all the search engine optimization, public relations, website hype, mentorship and philanthropy the company speaks about is in good faith, rather than just a way to try and make money off a system they have not fully contributed to. I do think this site could be a good value add, if done in good faith, but certainly did not seem good to me at the time I viewed it. read more

I moved to New York about 4 months ago from California and needless to say that is a big transition and yeah I knew it was going to be tough. I had lived on the West Coast my whole life prior to this I knew that's moving to New York is definitely a big steppingstone in my life as well as career. So I started the job hunt about nine months ago or so and ended up applying like mad to tons of different types of positions in the hopes that something would work out. Being that I was on the West Coast for my whole life I didn't know many people on the East Coast except for one friend of mine a college buddy that ended up moving out to New York a few years prior to me. They were the ones that actually referred me to Ivy because they had such great success with their services when they were moving out to NY. Overall my experience was pleasant and Ivy Exec was extremely helpful in finding me my job, I'm not sure why several people are commenting on here they had negative experiences cause I certainly didn't. But hey maybe they dealt with someone else that I didn't. read more

While I have been registered on Ivy Exec for a number of years and have actually gotten a few good leads on career opportunities, the most enjoyable experience I have had with this group is in my role as a mentor. I have had the pleasure of connecting with young (and mature) energetic minds seeking my advice and counsel within my areas of expertise. During this past year alone, I have had the fortune to not only speak with a number of individuals stateside, but also some very cool sessions with mentees requesting my assistance from as far away as Africa and China. Advertisers, beware! My organization purchased a pilot campaign of e-mail marketing and banner ads targeting Ivy Exec subscribers for lead generation. Working with Ivy Exec's staff was a terrible experience. We provided them with finished content and files for immediate release. They arrogantly insist on taking their own liberties toting what they profess as a value-added "collaborative approach". Give me a break. This amounted to complete disregard for our brand and messaging and a gross misrepresentation of our product. Their turn-around schedule was also ridiculous. I wouldn't be surprised if they send all of their creative to vendors in India. I don't know how else to explain the long timing delays and so many grammar and spelling errors. They should not be re-writing approved copy for a product that they do not understand. The results for the campaign were abysmal for all metrics. This is one of the worst channels we've ever used. Don't waste your budget advertising with Ivy Exec. read more

IvyExec has been fantastic so far. As they promise, they have "hand selected" jobs for director-senior executive level roles. And you will find job postings here that you won't find on other sites. But it's more than just a job search engine; they really do provide greater value. They have a mentor program that I have just recently signed up for, and am excited to use. And they also have a resume review/career coaching service. I spoke with Lilly-Marie who provided some useful and valid feedback on my resume, and she even took the time to take me through the website (over the phone) to make sure I was aware of the various services they provided (such as online classes covering a host of topics) and basically getting the most out of my membership. If you're a mid-senior level manager or executive and/or if you're simply in a career transition point and looking for something beyond just "another job search engine" then I would highly recommend IvyExec! read more

I had an incredible experience with Milijana from customer experience at this company. Currently I'm going through a lot of adversity in my life and the empathy and compassion included in the attention to detail has gone such a long way with me. I'm very grateful for this response as certain situations when it comes to mistakes on a customers end can be quite difficult. This customer experience representative is very much on point I believe they deserve a raise because this is the kind of service and keeps people coming back to you when they are able too because you are not treated differently based on your circumstances. on top of that my prior experience with the person who went over my résumé was absolutely pleasant as well! even though I was late she took the time out of her day to really give me some great key pointers so if you're on a job hunt I highly suggest Ivy Exec their are some brilliant individuals here ! read more

Looking to revamp your resume? Schedule a free resume critique with Ivy Exec's expert, Nii Ato Bentsi-Enchill! He has performed over 3,500 free resume reviews, so he knows what's he's talking about. Be honest with yourself, do you need a complete resume overhaul? Then possibly consider a resume package (i.e., Elite Package or Executive Service). Look at the "Reviews Not Recommended" to get a full perspective, and make a decision for yourself. Some people say it was worthwhile, some say it was terrible. Both types of comments are needed for a fair comparison. I had poor customer service and experience with the company. Frankly, I felt treated rudely and dismissively. I have been told the owner never had Wall Street experience despite her service being recruiting about such a niche field, does not always act sincerely, and does not live up to this persona she builds online. To be fair, it sounds like enough things changed recently, and there is room for everyone to get better. Just because I have such an experience does not mean it is representative. Let us hope they read reviews about their own company and improve accordingly. read more

I signed on for a free 30-day trial of Ivy Exec after I became unemployed. Fortunately, within 30 days, I was reemployed. I did not use Ivy Exec services during this period, although I did read several informative articles and tips in the newsletters. When I was automatically charged for 3 months of service after the free trial had expired, I contacted Ivy Exec customer service. I received an immediate reply stating someone would get back to me within 24 hours. Sure enough, the next morning customer service associate, Vanja Karlicic, wrote back with a thorough and friendly explanation, and informed me that I would receive a full refund because I contacted Ivy Exec within 7 days of the posted transaction on my credit card statement. I received a fantastic service from Ivy Exec. Their advice was very good and helped me to find the perfect role after 18 months of looking. Much of my search issue was related to my age (mid fifties) but their interview advice, particularly utilising a first 90 day plan, was so good that I was offered the role there and then after the first second interview with the CEO, and the first face to face interview that I had attended. The meeting was due to last two hours and I was there for five! I was verbally offered at the end of the interview and received the full offer in writing the next day. This was in a new sector as well. I am six months in and things are shaping up very nicely, having been offered share options, with a new tranche to be offered later this year. read more

I had inadvertently clicked on a service and do not know it until the company charged me an annual subscription fee. I really do not like it when companies auto charge your account. I believe they hope you will not notice the charge until the grace period (in this case 7 days) runs out. I called the company and was very surprised when Kevin Ko answered my plea for help. Like some of the others who have left reviews, Kevin quickly responded and promised to give a full refund for the charge. After dealing with a lot of unscrupulous cyber companies, I was very skeptical about the promise. However, like he said, a full refund was credited to my credit card. Kevin was great to work with and is very dependable. I really appreciate how he handled my account. read more

So far my experience with Ivy Exec has been solid. I heard about them through an announcement for one of their webinars. The webinar was on interviewing skills and it turned out to be valuable. I was able to ask some direct questions to the presenter and got some nice actionable advice. Several weeks after I attended the webinar, one of Ivy's recruiters Barbara Zimmerman reached out to me. She had an opportunity with an Environmental consulting firm which was a good matched with my background. I am still interviewing with the company and its looking pretty good so far. I am hoping to make the transition in June. I haven't tried their Mentor network yet, but I've hears its been successful in pairing Mentors and Protégés. read more

In the month that I've joined, I have had a chance to speak with two mentors who offered invaluable advice and connected me to people and companies that could help me take the next step in my career. My Ivy Exec Career Advisor (Tamara Milosevic) did a spectacular job taking my existing LinkedIn profile and resume and rewriting it into a much more impactful and eye-catching version. Sign up for a free membership without being told that your credit card will be automatically billed after the very short trial period--apparently a very very tiny button you need to uncheck on your account page which is hard to find to supposedly stop the billing. I recently joined IvyExec as I am in a career transition and wanted to work with a coach who has professional credentials that match or exceed my own. The first coach they paired me with wasn't a good fit so I asked LillyMarie if she would be willing to find another coach. Which she did and I'm happy to say that it is working out beautifully. They have given me strong pointers on my resume and presentation of my skills and experience. Instead, Lilly-Marie indicated that I didn't need help on my resume, but instead she identified what I've been doing wrong in my job search and helping me to understand how to better prepare for interviews - FOR FREE In my very next interview, using Lilly-Marie's advice, I was well prepared and confident and ultimately the company offered to fly me across the country for the final interview. I have been a member of Ivy Exec for over 2 years now. First started using it for job search opportunities and then as a mentor. Ivy allows you to connect with excellent people interested in taking their professional careers to the next level. Having an opportunity to assist them on their journey is very rewarding experience.
