I had high hopes for this restaurant when I made a reservation for Valentine's Day, but…read moreunfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations. While I take full responsibility for arriving 15 minutes late, I was shocked at how rudely the hostess--who we later learned was the manager--handled the situation. Rather than a simple acknowledgment of the delay, or improbability of getting a table, she made a point to shame us, emphasizing that accommodating us would be an extra burden for her. This set an uncomfortable tone from the start. When she begrudgingly seated us at a table that had somehow magically become available, she made another unnecessary comment, implying that I should do my part to not make her job so difficult again. My partner was immediately put off and suggested we leave, but I decided to give the restaurant another chance, assuming the manager might just be having a rough night. Unfortunately, things did not improve. The food, best described as uninspired frozen bar fare from the main Duckworth's kitchen, took over 30 minutes to arrive--and even then, it was served before our drinks. When the drinks finally did arrive, they were nothing exceptional. I ordered a French 75, and my partner had a Paloma, only to realize that even the drinks had come from downstairs at Duckworth's. Given the restaurant's supposed reputation, I was surprised that it didn't have its own bar, unlike how things are set up at The Cellar. The only redeeming aspect of our visit was our waitress, who was pleasant and professional. However, what puzzled us the most was that despite the manager's initial reluctance to seat us, nearly half of the restaurant remained empty throughout the evening. With at least three or four servers working in a relatively small space, it was clear that staffing wasn't the issue--so why the hostility? It was hard not to wonder if other potential diners had been similarly turned off by the manager's deplorable attitude and the underwhelming menu. Overall, the experience left a bad taste in our mouths--both literally and figuratively. Between the lackluster food and drinks, and the uncalled-for attitude from management (she is bald and was wearing a dress on the evening of 2/14/25 at 9:30PM-11PM), I cannot recommend this place to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience.

The drinks were bomb and ambiance was perfect!!! When: Friday at 5:00pm, party of 2 Overall: 4.8/5 Food: 4.5/5 - we got the bbq chicken flatbread. It was pretty good but not a standout for us. The drinks are what really shine here but it was still very nice to have food to pick from since we were starving! Drinks: 4.8/5 - Same mixologist as the Cellar At Duckworths so i knew these dunes were going to be fire and i was correct. We got the paloma which was yummy with fresh grapefruit juice. I think i got the dirty collins which was a lighter drink but not overly sweet so it was perfecttt!! I was eyeing the pisco sour too but will have to try that next time. Service: 4.8/5 - Since it was their soft opening I either expected mediocre service or top of the line. Thankfully I received the latter! Saturn was a wonderful server who provided great recommendations for drinks and kept checking in on us. She was super sweet and hospitable! Vibes: 4.8/5 - definitely get a seat in the bar area if you can. It feels more intimate and cooler..! we were seated in the dining room which was still nice and more quiet but i think it would have been more fun for us personally to be closer to the bar to watch them make drinks and overlook the road by the windows. The place is just like a modern day cocktail lounge! Other: free parking garage in the same building! It is inside of Duckworth's but up the stairs.

Almost nothing was done in the style of a restaurant where a manager or employee would be overseeing plates coming from the kitchen to be served. We each ordered same burger- medium with crisp bacon. Each was well done with limp bacon. Burgers were overly salted. One plate, as in photo, had an end tomato slice that shouldn't have been served to a customer. Our server did bring up a slice of pie to help make up for dinner. That was nice.

There's a real sense of history here. From what I understand, Reid's is one of the oldest grocers in Charlotte, and that legacy shows in the details. The rich green tile, classic signage, and thoughtfully designed layout create an elevated, almost European-style market experience. It feels polished, intentional, and welcoming all at once. What stands out: * The store is beautifully merchandised and carefully curated with specialty and seasonal items you don't always find elsewhere. * The wine bar and café concept make this more than a grocery stop--it's a place to linger. I've enjoyed flights, tastings, and brunch on the patio, and each visit has felt like a small occasion. * Location-wise, it really depends on which store you're visiting. The SouthPark and Myers Park locations have easy, convenient parking, and there's also a newer location in Ballantyne (near Pineville). The Uptown locations, while not necessarily "easy parking," are incredibly walkable--perfect if you live, work, or have meetings nearby. If you're already Uptown, this is a fantastic stop to pick up elevated items for a beautiful dinner--think wine, specialty cheeses, or even something indulgent like caviar to round things out. One thing I appreciate is that Reid's doesn't try to be everything to everyone. It's not an organic-focused market like Whole Foods, and that's okay--it serves a different purpose. The clientele here tends to be people looking for specialty ingredients, elevated prepared foods, and a more curated shopping experience. Many shoppers probably visit both stores depending on their needs, and I find myself doing the same. When Reid's really shines: During the holidays and special seasons. Their selection of unique, festive, and hard-to-find items makes it a go-to for entertaining or finding something a little extra special. Overall, Reid's feels like a true Charlotte institution--elegant, distinctive, and consistently well executed. It's the kind of place that makes grocery shopping feel enjoyable again, and I'm looking forward to continuing to explore more of what they offer as I keep eating my way through Charlotte. Bottom line: A beautifully curated local market with history, charm, and a destination-worthy wine bar--perfect for specialty shopping, brunch, and seasonal finds.

They had a special Valentine's Day menu and their normal menu as well. I got the bourbon salmon with Parmesan risotto and broccolini. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the risotto and broccolini were well seasoned. I also ordered the zucchini fries which were great as well. Some other great hits at the table were the Baked Rigatoni and Marry Me Salmon (Valentine's specials), truffle fries, Tiger steak, Boom Boom Shrimp, Turkey Meatballs, and the Philly egg rolls. Some were not a fan of the lobster egg rolls, lamb lollipops, and the red velvet cheesecake. Though they weren't terrible, friends felt these items lacked flavor and were just okay. It's a great space for groups and definitely would recommend making a reservation. Later in the evening, they had live music. The piano player was great and created such a fun atmosphere! We also had a cool server who took great care of us and had us laughing through the night (S/O to Ivan!) I highly recommend this space for a fun night out with your boo and/or your girls!

Then I chose a blueberry lemon cheesecake dessert since Dustin said the cheesecakes were made in house and it sweet and tart and delicious. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and will be back! We enjoyed these with a bottle of red blend wine. Their selection of wine is amazing. The brussels sprouts and the sliders were excellent. Everyone of our table asked to sample our brussels sprouts. The roasted oysters were just okay, but I'm sure it's just personal taste. I so wish that we would've gotten the shrimp cocktail in its place. I almost never eat donuts, but we ordered the signature donuts since it was his birthday. They were served with a chocolate sauce and a Morello cherry curd. They were just perfect without anything also. The service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive and the water pitchers were refilled in a timely manner. Foxcroft food and wine is kept very clean. The noise level was low, so that conversations could take place even during the busiest time of the day.

I had bookmarked this spot due to its decent Yelp reviews and since it was within walking distance of our stay, and open, we decided to go here. What a great spot! Our server Angela was nice and attentive. We ate and drank inside, which was great for us because my GF didn't want to deal with bugs and 73° outside was too warm for me... We were seated at high top tables near the bar. Pretty cool interior space, lots of wine on display, and one wall was covered with old wine boxes. It wasn't noisy at all and it was nice not having to shout over a booming music. As for the main event, the food and wine: 1) I'm writing this pretty buzzed so my recollection may be hazy, but I got the "Here Comes the Sun" flight and my GF got the "Bubble Me Up, Scotty!" flight. Not only a good value (3x 2oz tasters for about the same price as a glass [6oz] of wine), but all six of the items in our flights were quite good. We ended up getting two more glasses each of our favorites of the three (Lambrusco for the missus, Grüner Veltliner for me). As for food: I got the shrimp cocktail (4.5/5) and my GF got the lamb sliders (also 4.5/5). And we split a Caesar salad with grilled chicken, which oddly enough to say, was the best Caesar salad we've ever had. Perfect dressing-to-lettuce ratio, the dressing was excellent, and the grilled chicken was perfect. And then we got 4 doughnuts for dessert. We are only here for five nights but I'm sure we will be back. 5/5 would definitely recommend.
