February 21/2022: Lunch w Peter & Cathy. This is more like a 3.5-Star vs a 3-Star. The food was good. Cooked the way that I asked for. Great outdoor patio that I'm sure would rock in the summertime. Here's the issue, our server (Arycia) was clearly off her game...by a lot! The food arrived at the table but we had no cutlery in which to eat it with!? By the time the cutlery arrived, the food had lost much of it's temperature. It's a shame that an otherwise winner pub would lose some of its luster by server mistakes like above. I would go here again but I'd get the cutlery up front! read more

Ordered the wings, beef sandwich and fish and chips. Wings were 10/10, beef sandwich was alright, a little dry, but it came with massive onion rings so that was plus, and they were very good. I'm not a fan of thick cut fries, so I ordered the fish and chips with sweet potato fries, and this did not hit the spot. The fish was oddly mushy and the batter was a little bit raw, the sweet potato fries were not too good either. If you're looking to come here, get the wings 100% read more

This is a great pub for food. I highly recommend their wings, steak sandwich and wraps. Their poutine is also really good. The drinks are good too. Very basic in that manner. The service is good and they have a nice patio. read more

We like the Ivy. My dad lives in Milton so whenever we visit him we usually get breaded wings here for dinner as a treat. Nice, big wings and they have a special on Fridays for $1 per wing. We like honey garlic, sweet chilli, hot and honey and regular hot (which isn't too hot). Their sides are decent too. It's a popular spot and gets really busy after work and weekends, especially in the summer, but we usually get take-out and it's not a very long wait. A Milton Main Street staple. read more

Realoy nice Irish Pub on Main St in Milton! Lots of great food choices with a Great service! Amazing entertainment!!!

Solid 4 Stars. Ivy Arms is blessed to be situated on Main St. in old downtown Milton which has quite a bit of charm. It's also blessed to have a large covered (and heated) patio which is worth it's weight in gold right now in covid times. Any place that serves reasonably edible food on the patio is going to be winning in the present circumstances, but fortunately Ivy Arms goes beyond just enough and instead is a really solid choice in any circumstance. The menu features a lot of standard pub fare: wings, burgers, wraps and so on. Much of the menu also reads more like 10 years ago - but in a good way as the prices are very reasonable and lower than most comparable. They even have a beer special on Fridays - $5 for a draught pint of Stella. Good luck finding that anywhere else. In speaking about the prices, you have to talk about the wings as this place is known for them. They have 85 cent wings Sundays-Thursdays. A great deal and even better that it's throughout most of the week rather than one day. But even if you come on a Friday or Saturday as I did on my last visit, it's not a big deal as it's still something like $13 for a old-school pound - i.e. a dozen good size wings regardless if it likely exceeds a pound. There's only so much you can do to make wings standout - namely hot and fresh oil and a good variety of sauces. And they do that here as the wings are nice and crispy but not overcooked at all. I really like the honey hot dressing and it's nice that the heat is there. I also tried their fish and chips. The batter wasn't very light which is normally my preference, but it was a unique coating that still didn't come off too heavy, which also kept the fish well in place and had dill seasoned in it. Fresh cut fries too. read more

Great atmosphere, good service, great food, great drinks and easy parking. Have been coming to the Milton for work over the past 8 months and I have been to Ivy Arms 6 times over that period. Never had a mediocre meal or poor service, no matter how busy they were at the time. Latest visit was with co-workers who all thoroughly enjoyed their meals and the atmosphere. Wings are great, cottage pie is fantastic, Stir fry was yummy and fish is delicious. read more

Don't ever order delivery from Ivy Arms! I order wings all the time and request sauce on the side. Once in 20 orders have they added the sauce. They need to spend more time reading the notes on the orders. Once again they screwed up my order and I'm not ordering from there ever again. read more

Great local pub. The wings are delicious and the beer selection is good. They have a great patio too.

26$ nachos "mountain" was so underwhelming like bottom of the bus bun nachos chicken was over cooked would highly recommend not getting the nachos the wings where okay! Tho kinda hard to mess those up doe as someone with ya decade of kitchen experience serving nachos like that would get me a write up read more

I don't understand why such poor ratings!I give it a solid 3.5!Ok so it's not a fancy restaurant with gourmet food and extraordinary interior it's just an average neighborhood bar/pub! It's old style dark and gloomy but it's got the vibe to it.I have been here on Thursdays and trust me it's full till every corner.Thursday are 65cent wings and karaoke at night. You see people of all ages mostly the families and older crowd take the tables in the middle and youngsters take over the bar and high top tables. Overall the food quality it's average but not bad at all.The wings are fresh and juicy with a decent selection of flavors to choose from. The California burger I had was pretty good too, the patty was moist and toppings were perfect. The service on a busy night could be lousy but the servers are helpful and always smiling. So all in all it's definitely a try if ure looking for some options in downtown Milton. Its definitely a place to unwind and relax. read more

With my fav bars, lounges and pubs disappearing on the Hill, I find myself liking Milton. No...have no fear people of Milton, I will not invade your quiet little world but I do have a Hall Pass to visit anytime! Ivy Arms is simple. Have a nice bar and some seating areas - and a nice patio for those who want to feel the open air as they drink their favourite libations and feast on pub grub. I've been here a couple of times and it was basically for the wings and beers. Almost everyday is wing day here at the Ivy, except Saturday. BTW - the wings are fresh and delicious. How do I know? Sargent Farms chicken plant is across their rear parking lot. Can't get any fresher than that! Beers - for those "Friends" people...they have Boddington's! One of my favs and if they would carry Okanagan Springs 1516 - on tap, they could become my #1 watering hole outside of the GTA! The vibe here is neighbourly friendly. People who "knows your name" mixing with newcomers. The place has tight seating so you're going to meet your neighbours - just lift a pint and smile. The patio is where all the action is and on the Saturday night that I checked in, they were setting up live entertainment. Check the place out - if you happen to be outside the GTA burbs and stumbling through the not-so-sleepy town of Milton. Cheers! read more

The covered patio is fantastic - you could sit out there in poor weather and still be warm and enjoying your time. Has lots of charm and it's easy to tell that this place is a staple in the community read more

Not my favourite place to eat. I came in with my family and it took the waitress about 15minutes to even address us. It was a Monday lunch and wasn't even that busy. She then proceeded to tell me that I can't order wings without buying a drink. Even though my husband bought a beer. Couldn't she have just put the wings on his order then? Little things like that makes a big difference in a customers experience at a restaurant. And I haven't even ordered anything at that point yet and she proceeded to tell me I can't order anything from the lunch menu either without ordering a drink. I haven't even suggested that I wanted anything on the lunch menu yet! Like wtf. Not impressed at all. Edit. They also served us Expired mustard. A month past best before date. read more

Walked up to the place and thought: wow, cute pub and what a nice patio! My experience here however was horrendous. Not sure if our server was new or just hates her job, because there was a lot of eye rolling and attitude all around. Out of the 6 people in our group, I think only one order came out as ordered and the beer I ordered never came despite my follow-up ask. It wasn't that busy when we were there, so I'm not sure what was up. My vegetarian cauliflower 'wings' were ok and everyone in my group loved their chicken wings, so I'll give it 3 stars instead of 2. read more

A tip of the hat to the Ivy Arms and their wings. I had some errands to run in Milton and decided to grab some wings here with a friend. Strongbow and Guinness on tap. Score. She ordered her wings in Guinness BBQ, I ordered mine in Homicide (as opposed to the "suicide" wings at other bars. I guess they're so hot, they make you want to murder people?). The wings were very good. They come breaded or unbreaded in a variety of flavours. I was impressed with the homicide wings. They destroyed me. They were so hot, I had to take a break. They were so hot, I started to sweat. Honestly, I think Inner Circle was singing about serving up these wings, not making sweet sweet love to a lady. (Wait, did this pub exist in the 90s?) Toward the end, I was in physical pain. Tears were coming out of my eyes due to the very very liberal dose of scotch bonnet peppers. But I was happy. The ambiance was relaxed, they have a huge patio in the front, wheelchair accessible bathroom on the main floor, a party room in the basement and parking in the back, if you don't parallel park. Friday night is karaoke night. My friend lives in Kitchener and Milton is an easy spot in the middle for us to meet. I can see us returning, particularly for the amazing patio. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I waited a hour to get seated and on top of that they kept telling me they had a table for me.... They didn't. I ordered a beer and they brought me a cocktail... when I asked them to send it back because that's not what I asked for they said they couldn't. They tried to tell me I ordered a cocktail.... How are you going to tell me what I ordered. They brought over the manager after I asked and not to mention the manager was a moron and didn't help what's so ever he said "okay I'll talk to her". Overall terrible place it's messy, food is cold, wait is long, and management is rude. Will not be coming back and I encourage you to save your bucks and go to Brayden's instead. Embarrassing to say the least. read more

Passing through Milton on the way home we couldn't be more pleased with our choice of meal destination. Service was quick and polite. Portions were sizeable and prices very competitive. Haven't had wings this good in a while. The only caution I would mention is the route to the washrooms-steep stairs and a slightly confusing downstairs maze-not meant for seniors. Overall I would strongly recommend this little cozy pub, I know it be my weekly spot if I lived in Milton. read more

This is a great neighbourhood joint that serves up decent bar food and very well-priced drinks. There are usually some awesome drink specials. The wings are probably the best thing they serve, I honestly thing they're the best wings in Milton . Super crispy and not oily, fries are great too. Ordered food yesterday for dinner. We got the steak dinners which was fine but the mashed potatoes were brutal. Felt like it came from the box. Super disappointing. The Ivy Arms has a decent sized sunny patio (probably seats 60 people total) surrounded by walls of Ivy. It's quite attractive with all the green leaves and a pretty busy place to be summer afternoons. In the evenings they sometimes have live music which is excessively loud (literally can't hear the person next to you) but when there isn't music it's a great place to grab a pint or have a bite to eat. They have Karaoke on Sunday nights which is super random and they get a good following for sports too. Their lunch menu is great. There are probably 20 options all for just $6.95 including wraps, sandwiches, lasagna, chili, burgers, etc. I went with the bbq chicken wrap and salad which was filling, tasty and predictable. My friends ordered the burgers and had equally content comments about their meals. There's lots of parking around back. This place is definitely worth a visit on a sunny day in the summer, especially on Sundays for their Caesar specials. read more

Great pub spot in Milton. I like going in the summer time when the patio is open. When it is, this is a very active and lively patio. Very good atmosphere. I recommend this place and the food is very good. Good traditional pub options with some nice twists on some items. Great go-to in Milton. read more

Like any other pub but with a super cute patio! Came here for lunch, the food was decent. I had medium chicken wings and a side Cesar. My cousin had a steak which was cooked well but obviously a cheaper cut of meat. The sangria was only okay but the virgin Cesar my cousin ordered was quite good! Service was friendly. They do have pretty good daily specials so I would definitely check those out before deciding what to order. read more

The local pub in Milton that to me was also the closest thing i have seen to a British pub and feel which was suitable as i was there to catch up with my best friend from back home. Pros - good service and food, cosy inside. Cons - outside patio, really wanted to sit outside but some live band was making too much of a racket to have any conversation. TVs are crappy. read more

Came here for some late night snacks of appetizers, chicken wings and beer with some buddies. There was a 10 cent per wing special and half priced appetizers. Not a bad deal. Wings were breaded and quite generous sized. Beer was standard OK. There was a Leaf game going on on the large screen TVs so it was a full house. read more

Disgusting! Warm Friday evening - No system for seating customers on the patio - it was an absolute free for all - bring your shoulder pads. Service was ridiculously slow...food cold by the time the cutlery arrived. Ordered a grilled rueben sandwich - I have no idea how they managed to make the underside so soggy that the bread was mush. Hamburger was unremarkable. I would recommend that you skip this place. read more

Nice lunch out on the patio on a lazy Saturday. Lots of staff working the patio, we were taken care of quickly. Food was really good, all three of us cleared our plates! Would definitely come back again. Having read some of the lower reviews left by others I would remind them to meter there expectations with where they are going. The Ivy Arms is a pub, and it's a good pub with good food and good staff. read more

Love this place! Great atmosphere, service and food. I had the steak sandwich and it was done perfectly! Soft bun, tender cut. Had a $4.95 Irish pint because it was a Tuesday, bartender made a great recommendation. Great wings too! They were massive, meaty and had great sauce on them as well. I cant wait to come back in the summer, they had a huge patio right on Main Street! read more

I've been here maybe 4-5 times and each time I had a good experience. A few times we were inside (watching hockey) and the other times we were on the lovely patio. I only tried chicken wings and nachos, and enjoyed both. Beer prices are fair, service was good (even when it was crazy busy during a hockey game). Anytime someone wants to venture up to Milton and go to a bar, this is where I want to go. It is a casual, unpretentious experience - which is a plus for me :) read more

I only come to IVY for their wings. I love their wings, they serve good size wings, worth it for their price. I usually get breaded mild- honey garlic, they're amazing. The only thing i can say about Ivy arms is that the service is bad. Sometimes the servers aren't very attentive, takes forever to take your order. This place gets really busy, so maybe they should hire more servers since they seem to have a problem with attending customers inside the pub and outside the patio. Sweet potato fries and their poutine and calamari are highly recommended. This place is my "go to" in the summer because of their patio. read more

Typical English atmosphere which is great. Understaffed. WE had to ask the wait staff where to be seated and if we can seat. I had the had the fish and chips... very bland, no seasoning. If you're not a hometown regular, don't go. They don't want you there and they'll make it quite clear. Oh you want food? Be prepared to wait 90 minutes for deep fried food on a quiet afternoon. Drinks? The chubby dude behind the bar on weekends hates you. Options, people. You have them. read more

This is a fantastic pub -- everything a local pub should be. Nothing fancy, but a great place to hang out with friends from the neighbourhood. Miltonians know it's the best and that's why it's packed literally every day of the week. Their wings are huge and the wing and beer specials are the best you'll find in the GTA and run for most of the week. The service is great. Despite being extremely busy, the servers are personable and will take the time to chat. Take my word, I've been going here every week for the past few years. read more

Arrived late Sat afternoon Apr. 12th. Very interesting layout & decor. Young woman who served us was personable and accommodating. Many innovative and creative menu items. Just moved to Milton and thought I'd try out a local pub. Came here to find that the customer service of the staff is horrible. Waited 12 minutes to be seated. Then had to wait another 11 minutes for them to come and take our food order. We ordered the usual pub food, burger and fries and some wings. Burger was burnt, fries were under cooked, the wings were pretty good tho. Then we asked for the bill and this time it took them 15 minutes to bring out bill. I then asked the server why all the delays, and her reply was "I'll get to you when I get to you". What a b****. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Service is just BAD! read more
