Here's the issue, our server (Arycia) was clearly off her game...by a lot! The food arrived at the table but we had no cutlery in which to eat it with!? By the time the cutlery arrived, the food had lost much of it's temperature. It's a shame that an otherwise winner pub would lose some of its luster by server mistakes like above. We like the Ivy. My dad lives in Milton so whenever we visit him we usually get breaded wings here for dinner as a treat. Nice, big wings and they have a special on Fridays for $1 per wing. We like honey garlic, sweet chilli, hot and honey and regular hot (which isn't too hot). Their sides are decent too. It's a popular spot and gets really busy after work and weekends, especially in the summer, but we usually get take-out and it's not a very long wait. A Milton Main Street staple. read more

Solid 4 Stars. Ivy Arms is blessed to be situated on Main St. in old downtown Milton which has quite a bit of charm. It's also blessed to have a large covered (and heated) patio which is worth it's weight in gold right now in covid times. Any place that serves reasonably edible food on the patio is going to be winning in the present circumstances, but fortunately Ivy Arms goes beyond just enough and instead is a really solid choice in any circumstance. The menu features a lot of standard pub fare: wings, burgers, wraps and so on. Much of the menu also reads more like 10 years ago - but in a good way as the prices are very reasonable and lower than most comparable. They even have a beer special on Fridays - $5 for a draught pint of Stella. Good luck finding that anywhere else. In speaking about the prices, you have to talk about the wings as this place is known for them. They have 85 cent wings Sundays-Thursdays. A great deal and even better that it's throughout most of the week rather than one day. But even if you come on a Friday or Saturday as I did on my last visit, it's not a big deal as it's still something like $13 for a old-school pound - i.e. a dozen good size wings regardless if it likely exceeds a pound. There's only so much you can do to make wings standout - namely hot and fresh oil and a good variety of sauces. And they do that here as the wings are nice and crispy but not overcooked at all. I really like the honey hot dressing and it's nice that the heat is there. I also tried their fish and chips. The batter wasn't very light which is normally my preference, but it was a unique coating that still didn't come off too heavy, which also kept the fish well in place and had dill seasoned in it. Don't ever order delivery from Ivy Arms! I order wings all the time and request sauce on the side. Once in 20 orders have they added the sauce. They need to spend more time reading the notes on the orders. Once again they screwed up my order and I'm not ordering from there ever again. read more

I don't understand why such poor ratings!I give it a solid 3.5!Ok so it's not a fancy restaurant with gourmet food and extraordinary interior it's just an average neighborhood bar/pub! It's old style dark and gloomy but it's got the vibe to it.I have been here on Thursdays and trust me it's full till every corner.Thursday are 65cent wings and karaoke at night. You see people of all ages mostly the families and older crowd take the tables in the middle and youngsters take over the bar and high top tables. With my fav bars, lounges and pubs disappearing on the Hill, I find myself liking Milton. No...have no fear people of Milton, I will not invade your quiet little world but I do have a Hall Pass to visit anytime! Ivy Arms is simple. Have a nice bar and some seating areas - and a nice patio for those who want to feel the open air as they drink their favourite libations and feast on pub grub. I've been here a couple of times and it was basically for the wings and beers. Almost everyday is wing day here at the Ivy, except Saturday. BTW - the wings are fresh and delicious. How do I know? Sargent Farms chicken plant is across their rear parking lot. Can't get any fresher than that! Beers - for those "Friends" people...they have Boddington's! One of my favs and if they would carry Okanagan Springs 1516 - on tap, they could become my #1 watering hole outside of the GTA! The vibe here is neighbourly friendly. People who "knows your name" mixing with newcomers. The place has tight seating so you're going to meet your neighbours - just lift a pint and smile. The patio is where all the action is and on the Saturday night that I checked in, they were setting up live entertainment. Not my favourite place to eat. I came in with my family and it took the waitress about 15minutes to even address us. It was a Monday lunch and wasn't even that busy. She then proceeded to tell me that I can't order wings without buying a drink. Even though my husband bought a beer. Couldn't she have just put the wings on his order then? If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I waited a hour to get seated and on top of that they kept telling me they had a table for me.... They didn't. I ordered a beer and they brought me a cocktail... when I asked them to send it back because that's not what I asked for they said they couldn't. They tried to tell me I ordered a cocktail.... How are you going to tell me what I ordered. They brought over the manager after I asked and not to mention the manager was a moron and didn't help what's so ever he said "okay I'll talk to her". Not sure if our server was new or just hates her job, because there was a lot of eye rolling and attitude all around. Out of the 6 people in our group, I think only one order came out as ordered and the beer I ordered never came despite my follow-up ask. A tip of the hat to the Ivy Arms and their wings. I had some errands to run in Milton and decided to grab some wings here with a friend. Strongbow and Guinness on tap. Score. She ordered her wings in Guinness BBQ, I ordered mine in Homicide (as opposed to the "suicide" wings at other bars. I guess they're so hot, they make you want to murder people?). The wings were very good. They come breaded or unbreaded in a variety of flavours. I was impressed with the homicide wings. They destroyed me. They were so hot, I had to take a break. They were so hot, I started to sweat. Honestly, I think Inner Circle was singing about serving up these wings, not making sweet sweet love to a lady. (Wait, did this pub exist in the 90s?) Toward the end, I was in physical pain. Tears were coming out of my eyes due to the very very liberal dose of scotch bonnet peppers. But I was happy. The ambiance was relaxed, they have a huge patio in the front, wheelchair accessible bathroom on the main floor, a party room in the basement and parking in the back, if you don't parallel park. Passing through Milton on the way home we couldn't be more pleased with our choice of meal destination. Service was quick and polite. Portions were sizeable and prices very competitive. Haven't had wings this good in a while. The only caution I would mention is the route to the washrooms-steep stairs and a slightly confusing downstairs maze-not meant for seniors. The Ivy Arms has a decent sized sunny patio (probably seats 60 people total) surrounded by walls of Ivy. It's quite attractive with all the green leaves and a pretty busy place to be summer afternoons. In the evenings they sometimes have live music which is excessively loud (literally can't hear the person next to you) but when there isn't music it's a great place to grab a pint or have a bite to eat. They have Karaoke on Sunday nights which is super random and they get a good following for sports too. Their lunch menu is great. There are probably 20 options all for just $6.95 including wraps, sandwiches, lasagna, chili, burgers, etc. I went with the bbq chicken wrap and salad which was filling, tasty and predictable. My friends ordered the burgers and had equally content comments about their meals. There's lots of parking around back. This place is definitely worth a visit on a sunny day in the summer, especially on Sundays for their Caesar specials. read more

I've been here maybe 4-5 times and each time I had a good experience. A few times we were inside (watching hockey) and the other times we were on the lovely patio. I only tried chicken wings and nachos, and enjoyed both. Beer prices are fair, service was good (even when it was crazy busy during a hockey game). The only thing i can say about Ivy arms is that the service is bad. Sometimes the servers aren't very attentive, takes forever to take your order. This place gets really busy, so maybe they should hire more servers since they seem to have a problem with attending customers inside the pub and outside the patio.
