He made his assessment, explained what needed to be done and answered all of my questions. An appointment was made to facilitate pulling the tooth and I left Scenic Acres with prescriptions for antibiotics, pain meds, contact phone numbers if I had concerns or problems, and a huge sense of relief that I was in good hands. I have just returned home from having my tooth pulled and I am amazed at how smoothly everything went. I'm almost 61 and I think I can now say that I'm no longer afraid to go to the dentist. Thank you to Dr Cumberford and the Scenic Acres Dental team for helping me through this. I need to add how reassuring it is to have the dentist give me a cellphone number to call if I have any issues whatsoever. Dr Greg went even further by contacting me after the emergency visit, and after the tooth removal visit, to ensure that I was okay and wasn't experiencing any complications. About a month ago, that neglect finally caught up with me and forced me to see a dentist (a new one, but that's the subject of another review). I was told that there was too much gone and that it couldn't be saved, so I was referred to Face Forward. I should say that about 4 years ago, I had another molar removed by a general dentist and it did not go well. It took about 45 minutes and was not pleasant. So I went with more than a bit of apprehension. However, my apprehension was sadly misplaced. The room was set up not unlike a medical surgery, lots of hard surfaces easy to keep clean. The place has 3 or 4 of these with one having its own extremely competent assistant. The surgeon went from theatre to theatre doing his thing. After I was prepped and "profoundly frozen", the surgeon came in to do his thing. 6 minutes later it always all over. What a difference a specialist makes! I still can't believe it was finished that quickly. The only quibble I have is that they make you pay up front and then send the paperwork into the insurance company. As far as the facility and work is concerned, highly recommended.

The staff (that I encountered) were all great! I get really scared during dental appointments, & really anything I know won't be comfortable. They seem so much more gentle than other dentist/dental hygienists. When I'd flinch, they'd ask if I'm okay rather than getting annoyed & telling me it doesn't hurt, like other dentists I've been to. One (possible) down side, they charge for how long you're with the dentist, rather than each treatment being done as one payment each. Not sure how much of a difference this makes however because I imagine that would make it harder to over charge for a treatment.

Upon arrival the office was full of patients but they took him in and diagnosed his pain and made a treatment plan. They were efficient, professional and accommodating. Not only did we get the chance to meet and greet, but they even had a "Fun" free introduction day for kids. They did the office up in Dr. Seuss theme, with a free goodie bag (including a full Dr. Seuss book!), tour of the dental chair and tools, face painting, craft stations and much more. Although Springbank Dental is quite a bit of a drive out of my way, Dr. Szott and his staff make it worthwhile. I am actually wanting to transfer over myself from my close to home dentist.
