Was told to have him see a dentist in Ontario. Called the after hours help line for 3.5 hours till the call was put through. In the mean time got him an appointment to see a dentist. Finally spoke to the after hours oral surgeon from South Calgary Oral surgery who immediately called in antibiotics because my son was feeling the pain going down the left side of his neck. He also saw the dentist who was barely able to see inside his mouth because it was so swollen. The antibiotics worked but my son had other friends getting their wisdom teeth out at the same time and had no problems and were all prescribed antibiotics after surgery. Plus they all received daily follow-up phone calls and text messages. We never did receive another call from Foundation Oral Surgery. Once the bill was paid there was zero follow up care.

I was so angry. they sent me for an MRI which i NEVER got the result back from and told me that the feeling will come back within two years. WELL ITS BEEN THREE. and im still angry. I will never be able to have feeling in half my tongue because of this oral surgeon. DO NOT go here i beg you. they suck. they will leave you will a numb tongue and then laugh in your face and then never send you your MRI results... and then GET THIS he retired.

That's another review for another day and as Dr. Tamminen stated to me (when I showed up at his office with the emergency of needing the crown of my implant (less than a few months old) put back in) there is a reason Dentists and Doctors call their work their practice ;-) The real gem at this office is Edna -- she is always so pleasant and super on top of everything up front. And being as the receptionist is your first impression, she really sets the tone for the visit. The office is fairly bare bones -- no fancy television sets here (which is okay -- I am there to get my teeth cleaned, not catch up on Ellen), but the ceiling is decorated with motivational posters reminiscent of Scholastic Book Fairs. That's kind of fun to check out while you lie back and attempt to have a conversation with your mouth full. Besides having an implant due to an impacted adult tooth, I have never had any major dental issues -- no cavities, no need for braces, etc. so having a dentist and his team that just gets right down to business of scaling is perfect for me. I don't need distractions. I just wish they had bubblegum flavored flouride. Seriously, mint is for boring grown ups ;-)

This past Saturday I was enjoying said beverage when I banged my false front tooth on the bottle and knocked it out (classy, I know). This is not the first time this has happened. For those of you who know me, this particular tooth was bonded with a fake at the budding age of 6 when a friends' little brother threw a step ladder at me, and, in 1999; in a coffee cup incident; it was knocked loose and rebonded again. I have been going to Harker Chan and Associates for about three years and I called Dr. Harker about correcting my sudden hillbilliness Sunday morning. He graciously answered even though I called a personal number and offered to come in early the next day to get me fixed. I was in and out of his office in a half hour. To say that this man is anything short of a perfectionist would be an understatement. He is quick, professional and knows his work. His portfolio of veneered teeth is impressive; I have seen few veneers that look so natural. Now I can't review the entire practice without also talking about Dr. Chan (Dr. Chan is my regular doctor there, who rocks ps, but Dr. Harker has worked on my false tooth before and is the cosmetic surgeon, hence my call to him). Dr. Chan is prompt, lively and professional. When I was slated to have my wisdom teeth removed; without sedation, Dr. Chan had me back at work in less than a day. This guy knows his dental surgery. These men have ground, filled, bonded, poked and prodded my teeth for three years and I'm always relaxed in their chair. Their staff is friendly, smart and all have a very gentile touch. I recommend either doctor to anyone looking for a new dentist. T.
