I decided to take my Cousin to lunch and she chose Ivars. The parking was Good, we were able to park right up front. They do have handicap parking as well. The customer service was great, the young man was very helpful. The store was clean and quiet. We found a table right away, no wait. I ordered the Chicken and fries with white clam chowder. My cousin ordered the Salmon and fries with red clam chowder. The drinks are whatever you choose, you just pay for cup size. My chicken was good but I enjoyed the chowder more. My cousin said her food was good but her red chowder tasted too much like tomato. I decided to ask for a Senior Citizen application and I noticed another young lady came on shift, she looked right at me and ignored me and then proceeded to go in the back. I decided to wait at the front counter for the application just to see how long I would wait. One of the Cooks acknowledged my presence and gave me a application. I went to the car to fill it out and when I came back to turn it in I was happy to see the young gentleman that helped us earlier, he greeted me with a smile and politely took the application. I will patronize Ivars again, just not that location read more

I preordered on their site for pickup, and everything was hot and fresh when I received it. The food was delicious, gave me so much tartar and ketchup, which was appreciated. They even got me a box to carry my bags out as I got the full boat (a great deal to feed 2 hungry people or 3 moderately hungry ones lol) and the prawn and chips. They were all so delicious and can expect consistency with Ivar's. Never lets me down. The staff was thoughtful with the box so I could carry my meal out safely, and very friendly. There is plenty of casual dine-in seating. Easy parking in their lot as well. If I need a quick Ivar's fix, I'll be back! read more

A local fast casual concept where both food and service are pretty good! Ivar's Seafood is one of the more famous spots at Seattle's Pikes Place market, and it's popped up in about a couple dozen spots along the Seattle metro area, including this one in Burien. Located opposite a small strip mall shopping area, there's plenty of parking outside. Walking into the restaurant, the ordering counter is directly to the back, with menu placed above. The staff were friendly and gave us time to decide, and were helpful in directing us to where the water dispenser and sauce pumps were located. After taking our order, they give you a table marker with a number and you can select your own seats. You also bus your own tables after eating. Decor has a bit of a nautical theme considering it's a seafood joint, with blue colors and light wood accents. Individual tables or booths are the seating choices. Food came out about 10-15 minutes after ordering, I really enjoyed the fish tacos, there was a fair amount of fish cooked and seasoned well and the coleslaw paired nicely. The use of soft taco shells made it easier to eat too. The salsa for the chips tasted pretty generic store-bought though for this caliber of restaurant it was fine enough. The fried fish and chips were also yummy! They come in a variety of combos with a different number of pieces depending on how hungry you are, which is a nice touch. The fish was crispy on the outside and didn't feel overly greasy. The fries were also good, just crisp enough and not soggy in the least bit. I'll be back for sure when I'm in the area and in the mood for seafood. I've had their chowder at Pike's Place a while ago and recall that being tasty too. read more

I enjoy eating the seafood at Ivar's. I enjoy the modern aesthetics and ambiance of this location, especially. I noticed that there's a minimal crew that work here and they work efficiently, in an organized fashion and have a sense of urgency. I brought my uncle here on 5/26/24 try for the first time. My uncle got the seafood combo and chips deal $15 .00 plus a large bowl of chowder. $7.50. I got the three piece fish n chips $12.50 and call cup of chowder $5.25. Service was excellent. There were two servers that would check on us and ask if there was anything we needed. The only negative currently are that the portions for the cod fish and chips have significantly reduced in size. They used to be pretty huge. My uncle loved it so much that we ate here again the following day, but in the Puyallup location. read more

Well I thought it was odd I received a birthday certificate but you have to buy something first before you get a benefit I think that's a little chance I think you should get at least a $30 gift certificate cuz everything is expensive there okay well just putting in my two cents let me know what you think I'll I'll read the reviews see see if anybody answers what I said. I think the food is okay there sometimes they're a little lacks on the cooking time where they overcook it or you know just seems like the fries are kind of you know so so the ambience is it's it could be worse it's a lot better than a lot of fast food places. I have only been to one other Ivar's location but for fast casual fish and chips this location gets five stars from me. Heads up if you're looking for it- this location for not have a drive thru like some other locations. This location does take out and sit down service. You order at the front but they bring the food to you and bus the tables and the staff was very attentive. The restaurant was clean and the parking lot had a good number of spaces which can be difficult in this area. The fish and chips were hot, fresh and delicious and my husband's side caeser instead of fries was actually really good. Prices are on par for the size and quality. read more

The restaurant is beautiful as it sits right on the water where you can see seagulls and boats. The service was not very good. We were there from 3:30-5:45. The host was great; he was kind and helpful and very amiable. The waitress not so much. I believe her name was Jenny? She got my order wrong and then acted huffy about it. Also, 2 of us try to order the dinner special, but had to wait quite awhile to do so as for some reason the food was not in the computer yet? After all this, i was sad to find that the food was not that good! I got the fried combo and the portion was tiny- except the fries. The clams, shrimp and fish were pretty much tasteless and seemed very cheap. On the special dish of halibut, the halibut was dry and the side of vegetables was not good. I normally don't go out to eat, but was craving fish and chips. I love the weekend special at huckleberry square in burien. They offer halibut and chips with coleslaw. It's a huge slab of halibut and so good. I drove by huckleberry and saw it was super busy so I went to Ivan's in burien. The pieces were so small about 4" long and an 1.5" wide and the fries were oily. I don't recommend Ivan's for your next meal. Got to Burien Fish house or huckleberry square. It's a little more in cost but worth the extra money. read more

The cost was $20 for fish and chips - halibut. This is what I got for $20. Mid level fries and 3 small pieces of halibut. You decide if it's enough for tht price. They need to at least throw in a side/dessert. Addendum - I decided to come back and edit this review. Increased it to a 2 star rating. Everything I said above remains true. The meal size if sufficient for one person. Price is wild. Taste of the halibut was dry. Breading unseasoned. Might as well not have been there at all. Fries were mid. Kinda cold. They were quite busy when I got there at 12:30 on Friday afternoon. 3 people working. One dedicated cook, one cashier & one person doing both cooking and order assembly. There is no signage about where to order or where to pickup so it's a little confusing. It was a Seahawk Blue Friday special day. $1.20 for a cup of clam chowder if you were wearing any Seahawk gear or blue clothing. I don't think they enforce this at all. You just have to ask for the special. If you don't ask you'll be charged the regular price. (Limit 2 per person) I also added a "snacker" size of their spicy calamari. Took a little while to receive my food but everything was piping hot and delicious they're running this special all of December & I plan on going back every Friday. read more

They put a fish sandwich and fries in a to go container and shoved (2 baskets) chicken tenders/ fish & chips in a bag with 2 containers of soup and a bunch sauce containers. We paid for a 5 piece of fish & chips but they gave us a mangled 3 piece instead. To top it all off, the customer service was trash! I've been a regular here now for the past 4 years, and this is one of the better ran Ivars around! The staff is friendly, and they try and get the food out HOT!, Cold fries are no fun to eat, and these folks do a great job!! I keep going back.. Fish portions are decent, the place is mostly clean, as are the restrooms. Good people and good food, at a decent price! Not an easy combo to get these days. Renton and Kent are also good Ivars too. Was looking for a place to eat on a Monday night. Stumbled upon this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. The inside was was very clean and had good social distancing set up going. They gave me the option of to go (they would bring my meal to the car) or for here. I decided to just dine in since there were hardly anyone inside. And of course, if you know me by now my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach. I wanted to try everything so I ordered halibut 2 pcs and the Cod meal which came with clam chowder, 3 pcs of cod, and a drink. I tapped out at 2 pcs - the fish strips were huge and worth the price that I paid. Clam chowder was really good. Better than the famous clam chowder in Pike place in my opinion. Had alot of left overs and have no idea what to do with them since I'm here traveling just for the week. The fishes were not really seasoned nor could I tell the halibut and cod apart because it was just bland. Couldn't really tell they were fishes if I didn't order them. Their homemade tartar sauce was what made the dish for me. Do not skip on the tartar sauce. I would come back for the clam chowder. read more

I frequent this establishment quite a bit and will say that the Burien Ivar's does the following well: 1. Customer service. One time, I and a friend showed up around 9:00 PM, not realizing they close at 9pm. The female at the counter taking orders treated us no different than anyone who came in not at the last minute. While we were eating, the female at the counter lets us know they're going to be taking in the condiments dispensers won't be available as they're cleaning up, etc. Anyway, I appreciate the level of professionalism and communication everyone who worked there that night showed. Outside of the guilt of my friend and I to get our food and go, the staff there did not make us at all feel rushed. And 95% of the time I have been here, the staff are pleasant. 2. Facility - It's typically very clean, bathrooms are not a disaster, the soda dispenser and condiments are always working and stocked. 3. Quality of food - I have frequented other Ivar's throughout the years and every meal tastes the same. Mind you, I recognize inflation has affected food prices everywhere and labor costs have gone up and I cannot put all blame on the establishment as it appears they try to still do well and consistent with quality. Improvement: 1. I would like to see better or more explicit signage for the menu items. For example, most fast food restaurants, you know that a meal is a "combo" based on the signage. At Ivar's in most locations, I would like to see better signage to let consumers know if the fish is just a fish only or does it come with fries or some sort of combination. 2. Honestly, I think they should ax online orders. I don't think many restaurants in fast food do this well which I can understand and it is weird people will point more blame on the restaurant than the Uber Eats driver as I think that should be factored. That said, I think Ivar's should just do away with online orders because their effort is nice but it can be confusing for both the staff and the consumer and I've seen orders mixed up at times. read more

Super easy location to get to hours are convenient parking lot is always full but I always find a parking spot the employees that work here are familiar faces so I see they have no problem keeping consistent employees the food is always fast friendly and fresh I always look forward to coming here even if there's a long line just because the people are so nice and I know that they take pride in every individualized order. read more

Guess this is a Seattle mini chain that caters to the masses? Was looking to grab a bite of seafood straight off the plane after landing in Seattle and this popped up and boy I'm glad I came here. Especially for the price and quantity, this place is awesome. Since they specialize in fish and chips and chowder, we went straight for the full boat special. Crisp, not greasy, fresh fried cod, perfectly fried french fries, refreshing cole slaw and a bowl of chowder to wash it all down. It easily feeds 3 people. The fish is the perfect vessel to get dunked in the tartar sauce (as is everything else!). Could use a tad more salt post fry, but clean fish taste otherwise. Chowder is thick and hearty and would be perfect for a cold night. To continue their fryer praise, besides the fries, if you want to fake feel healthy, the fried green beans are good too. They also got grilled fish options if you want to be healthier and while I didn't get to try it, my mother in law got it and it definitely looked good. read more
