And then gave us basically a "no bid" and walked away. Calluna's came in, locked in a reasonable bid, outlined the work, reassured us constantly that they were looking forward to getting it done, showed up only a week later, spent only 3 days, carefully hand digging around utilities, then skillfully backhoeing, finally finishing up and cleaning up much better than we could have imagined. Even the neighbors are making positive comments. The driveway strip has never looked better. We have to let it lie fallow for a year while we chase down straggler rhizomes, but it already looks better than it has since we moved in many years ago.
