I purchased a sofa, chair from Ivan Smith and have not been pleased at all. the chair that was delivered did not resemble the one I chose in the store, the sofa is so hard one cannot sit on it for very long. Quality is lacking and the salesperson was a rude man who was not helpful, at all. read more

Ivan Smith Furniture has some good deals. We ended up buying our extremely affordable couch here because it was the best bargain we could find. We weren't looking for a fancy couch, just something comfier than our futon that will last for the next four years and is within our extremely low price range. And voila! IvanSmith.com said this place had the best prices. Little did we know that the Ruston location would outbeat the online prices, and had advertised on the windows even lower prices than listed online. We couldn't leave empty handed (although we technically did since they ship 2 days later from Shreveport) and they even offer $30 shipping which is unheard of at other furniture places. Totally worth it if you are looking for all types of furniture, not just cheap. They also had envy-worthy beautiful stuff too. And the staff were all willing to help, the place was nicely organized. Definitely a place to add to the top of your furniture list! read more

I've been to this company twice... They have a nice selection of furniture. I saw a mirrored chest with beautiful jeweled knobs. I didn't get it because I wasn't looking for a chest at that time. When I did go back to purchase the chest, after describing it to the older sales person, I was told that "it must have been something that the company sent and if you don't see it on the floor we don't have it." It seemed he had no knowledge of the piece I described but more importantly, I felt he didn't care. There was no attempt to see if the company could order another chest like the one I'd seen. Further, the salesman didn't even try to save the sale by showing me something else that might have interested me. We walked out of this store and happily broke the bank at "Northside Furniture!" On my first visit the younger salesperson was excellent. They just didn't have what I was looking for. On the second visit, the salesmen all looked like they should be retired and they didn't care about the customer. read more

Hobby Lobby is a mix between Michaels craft store and World Market and Pier 1. It has fancy furniture for purchase, tons of kitschy decorations, and the occasional crafting project spewed about. I came here to make a "coffee station" I had seen on pinterest, but to my surprise the metal basket that hangs above the furniture, not even the coffee cart itself, just the basket thingy was $99! I nearly panicked and abandoned my project altogether, instead refurbishing and cleaning off my kitchen counter to make better utilization of my space for coffee needs. Hobby Lobby is the kind of place you LOVE to window-shop, and perhaps buy things that are super expensive, or if you are lucky and on sale, maybe to get ideas or abandon them as I did. I do want to go back. I think that it expanded my idea of crafting, as they have so much furniture and decor too. I'm pretty sure they have coupons too, I hope.

It has in my opinion, Urban Outfitters style clothing, in other words vintage style but brand new. Only problem is prices are really high, which is expected with such nice clothes.
