There is like a little courtyard and parking area north of the building on Washington street. It took me forever to find the place. It has signs all over that say IU health. I don't know about you but I think that means it's a coordinated health system. Nope. If you haven't been seen at a particular location you are foreign to them. Every clinic is like its own place but they can see IU health hospital records once they get you in the system for that location. On time is not how I'd describe the office. However an X-ray is in and out in less than 3 min!! The staff was nice. They accidentally forgot to log my appointment when I made it on the phone but the lady that made the mistake realized when I cane in that she was the one who made the mistake so they still saw me. It took a really long time to be seen 40 min? But the care was good. They told me what was in my records and pointed out that the decision made by the last Med provider was scary and inappropriate. The care was very good and I will keep going here. They are a new location so they are still working the kinks out a little.

She told me she could make this appointment for this day at 2:05 at this Artistry location. I get here and they tell me that my appointment was set for my regular doctor nearly 30 minutes away. I'm very clearly upset and in pain and this receptionist proceeds to comment "girrrrl, rawr" and ask me if I want an appointment for Monday. After that comment, I shook my head no and proceed to walk out.

Downtown, you have to park in the hospital garage, and they do not validate your ticket. Parking is free at the Carmel location. Both offices are easy to find with friendly staff. Dr. Matthew Bohm is a very personable man, excellent listener, thoroughly explains medication and procedures, and attempts medication before moving to more invasive procedures if possible. I have a procedure scheduled in a couple of weeks, and I feel very safe and secure in his knowledge and skill sets. If you are searching for a digestive or gastroenterologist, I highly recommend Dr. Matthew Bohm.

I've recently started kicking up my weight lifting/ resistance training and thought the Exercise Coach could fit into that puzzle. M This location has easy free parking and the staff was all very friendly. Their first two sessions are free and give you a great taste of what the exercise looks like- brief and power-packed. Picture hydraulic based weights with computers to gamify and tailor the workout to each individual. They offer both 1:1 workouts and group sessions. It's hard- but in the best possible way! I loved having sore muscles the next day. I think if I could purchase a package of classes that weren't based on month to month, this would fit better into my routine (reformer and other classes at the JCC and invoke). They appear to have some kind of coffee service, but I didn't use it. The waiting "hallway" could use an update with more comfortable seating. Over half of the seating isn't conducive to waiting for an hour or more. I did identify some available outlets, but I didn't use them. You'd need your own charger. You get a patient tracking number and can follow the process on monitors in the hallway. That's super handy. Visitor communication is exceptional.

I have been coming to IU Health's Dr. Christiane Machado in Carmel well over a year now since…read moremoving back from Phoenix, AZ. Although I was given subpar treatment (it's extremely hard to find a dermatologist that doesn't have a six month wait. I'm not sure if this is just the Indianapolis area or not), I persisted because I knew acne treatment was a long process that took time. When I arrived today at 3:25 p.m. for a 3:20 p.m. appointment an elderly couple was in front of me and the receptionist was trying to get them taken care of as fast as possible. When I finally had my turn with another receptionist next to her, it was probably 3:30p. Check-in went smoothly. I sat down to wait, and another elderly white woman walks in. At which point, she is also checked in smoothly. She was early for a 4:15 p.m. appointment with Dr. Machado. Less than two minutes later, she is being escorted back. I hear one of the receptionists say to another receptionist that I had been waiting and my appointment had been at 3:20 p.m. Then (of course) whispering ensued, and about 5 minutes later I was called back. The nurse who took me back was frank when I asked "why did the other woman go before me?" I expected her to say something along the lines of "it was urgent," or something of the sort -- something completely understandable. But, no. She said "you were late." I said, "So, someone who had an appointment about 50 minutes after mine was able to be seen because of something out of my control, when there is a ten minute leeway, and I was only five minutes late?" In her frankness, the nurse says "yup." I think they could sense how upset I was, so Dr. Machado magically appeared about five minutes later -- with a different nurse. In the meantime, Dr. Machado ensues in the most hurried and disrespectful appointments I have yet to have with her (and each of the four I have had with her are about the same). I correct her on the pronunciation of my name every time, I have to tell her I'm in a same-sex relationship, so I don't need contraceptive, every time, I have to tell her what face wash I am using every time (what are they scribbling if not these small facts?), and, the worst of all I have to tell her what problem areas I do and do not have EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. This is the last time I will be coming here. Because although it's a long wait for other dermatologists in the area, clearly they are worth every bit of dignity they are probably giving to their patients.
