Dr. Martinson is wonderful. Absolutely one of the best doctors you could ever want for your kids. She cares, is very thoughtful, is super knowledgeable, and both my girls look up to her. That said, she's now splitting patients with another doctor kind of out of nowhere. And on top of that, and the reason for this low review, is the "$150 administration fee" for our kids that basically was announced in a letter in late October and is due in December (!!!). Who does that? No doctor's office has ever charged me money for doing NOTHING--it's like a "membership." This is literally a fee for nothing. The letter lists things they've always done and is like "well, now we're charging." It's a fee because they are doctors and can apparently charge a fee. So long story short, Dr. Martinson is a 5-star doctor. This is a 1-star decision. The staff is a bit hit or miss--we've had folks threaten to send us to a collection agency for being a bit late on payment while trying to sort things out with insurance and folks that are wonderful. But good lord, you basically drop another doctor in who we've never met and tell us that's our new co-primary care doctor, and charge us $150 for doing nothing. Not a fan of those decisions at all. read more

If you would like to be nickeled and dimed, by all means, have at it. This practice charges for forms to be completed, charges to transfer files, as well as an annual fee per child to be a patient. From my ped. in CO, to CA, and back to IN, this is the first time I have ever had such a negative experience with a doctor office and it is time to take my children elsewhere after 6 years here. Charging an annual fee to be a patient is absurd, especially when you go in once a year for an annual. I highly suggest going somewhere else. read more

Will not be using this practice. Relocating from NY to IN and was referred to one of the doctors here but unfortunately will not even be meeting with her. Why? Because I have never been met with a more ignorant and rude receptionist. Thanks but no thanks. If your "front of house" staff is that hostile, I will take my business elsewhere. A practice is only as good as all of its team. We are so going to miss our Tribeca Pediatrics crew. So sad. read more

Worst doctor's office ever. They managed to turn a simple preventive procedure-a flu shot-into an hours long waiting nightmare with children and parents sitting on the floor in the lobby of the building until 8:00 pm. Nor will they allow parents to schedule flu shot appointments for their children like every other pediatric practice we have ever been involved with. Total joke. Do yourself a favor and find another pediatric practice that respects its patients' (and their parents') time. We will be looking for another. read more

No one ever answers the phone. I've called probably 5x within the last 18 months and I've been on wait 20+ minutes. The lady who answers us rude and brushes me off. I've asked her about some billing questions since I had been billed full price even though I gave them my new insurance information. Come to find out they were billing my old/expired insurance. She gave me wrong contact to billing office. This is only one incident. She's been an issue for awhile. I'm angry I can never get ahold of someone to make an appointment or talk to nurse. Dr. Wrong is amazing and the only reason I stayed so long. I cannot stand their lack of customer service nor ability to even get someone on the phone for a simple appointment. I'm on wait right now as I'm typing this and it's 8:19 AM and I've been on hold for 18+ minutes! read more

I never knew I was supposed to love my pediatrician, but since having Max and meeting other moms, it seems, it is rare to NOT love them. I have been seeing someone who I considered to be adequate. However, for his 9 month appointment, they rescheduled me twice very last minute and I had already not felt 100% comfortable there. After that, I got a recommendation for Dr. Bergstein at Meridian Pediatrics. Our first appointment was last month and I was BLOWN A-WAY. She was so over the top excited and easy to talk to. She seemed "in love" with Max. While I am quite sure she is "in love" with all her patients, I don't care. I like that she goes that extra mile to be happy, smile and get involved with my son. She was very informative about what he should be eating, how often, when he should be hitting milestones and all without totally freaking me out. She is on the same page as me with her vaccination recommendations and overall, I fell in love on our first meeting. Who knew? I would highly recommend this facility. The waiting room is immaculate, there is a great play area and a large, beautiful fish tank to keep the kiddos occupied. I didn't wait more than 15 minutes (rare in the world of docs) and thought our nurse was just as wonderful. Overall, I think it's a great place to entrust the lives of your kids but you'll have to check out for yourself to know for sure :) read more

New patient with 18 month old with ear infection. Called in at 8:30 when they opened and they asked me to call back at 9 when the scheduler got in. Called at 9 and my doctors scheduler was on the phone (each doctor has their own scheduler), she would call me back. Did not hear back by 10 so called again. The scheduler was out with personal matters but should be back in an hour. Finally at 12:30 I get a call from the scheduler just to find out that the doctor was not accepting new patients (I made it very clear every time I called that I was a new patient). I asked if any other doctors were accepting new patients and she said she would leave a note for the dr's asking and I would hear back tomorrow. It should not take a day to schedule an appointment and/or find out that a dr is not accepting new patients. I called Community Networks Pediatric Care in Carmel and they got me in same day. read more

Finding a pediatrician was difficult, as my husband and I have unique backgrounds and experiences in dealing with doctors. We spared no time, effort, or engagement of resources researching local pediatricians, while I was pregnant with our first baby. We eventually landed with Dr. Martinson at Meridian Pediatrics. Best decision ever. Our daughter is now three, and I don't know what I would have done without Dr. Martinson. She is attentive, caring, THOROUGH (yes, in an all-caps kind of way), and always ready to listen. I realize she has many patients, but with every single visit, she has made us feel like we're her only family. She never hurries through, and she listens and responds to each and every question without making you feel silly or insignificant. She actually wants to have a dialogue with us. Doctors today (especially of the family/pediatrics variety) are so often worried about going patient to patient and getting you out of there ASAP. Dr. Martinson has never, ever done that. It's so refreshing! We have also seen Dr. Cumming for an urgent, same-day visit (which was scheduled with ease), and we were very pleased with our interaction with him, too. We have further appreciated the service we have received from the staff. Everyone to whom we have spoken on the phone is courteous and helpful, and Nurse Jen is just the best. Calls to the office with general questions during the day have also been promptly returned with thorough responses, usually by either doctors or nurses. We have just been so pleased with the care or daughter has received from Dr. Martinson and Meridian Pediatrics. We live pretty far away (Greenfield!), but it's well worth the drive. We have also had the opportunity to recommend Dr. Martinson and Meridian Pediatrics to our friends. We proudly do so! read more

Our physician Dr. Chitty is great, takes time to listen, answers questions quickly when we call in. The other physicians have also been quite responsive when covering. Convenient location. Busy parking lot but always manage to find a spot. Only thing that could be improved is that some of the front desk and check out staff can be a little curt. Would be nice if they didn't appear so annoyed when assisting us. read more

Love our dr. but the practice management is horrible. After you leave for annual visit, you cannot schedule more than 6 months out. ..which means that you have to call back in 6 months (without any email or written notecard reminder) to try and then schedule (and do this with your insurance coverage who will only cover once annually and trying to fit the dates in.) Wow, and then front desk is not very nice about it. In this day of media and automated messaging, invest in a reminder to schedule your annual appointment. So I will admit frustration with this..and then their records were NOT up to date on all of her immunizations necessary for college when we called needing them on an expedited basis. It was sort of weird. read more

Absolutely one of the best Dr offices for kids. Although we think Dr. Martinson is the best, all the staff is pleasant and engaging. We also never wait very long to be seen. As far as medical offices go, the fact that they can maintain a schedule so that a patient does not have to wait very long is quite a feat. And very appreciated if you have ever had to sit in a waiting room with three kids. read more

Our son is 6 weeks old and so far we've been thrilled with Meridian Pediatrics. Our pediatrician is Dr. Jim, but we've had visits with Dr. Bergstein and Dr. Riddell and enjoyed them both. The staff is friendly and love to dote all over the little ones. We're confident that we're in good hands with this group. read more

Dr. Jim G. Cummings is my son's pediatrician since the last 5 years and we are going to keep going to him until my son outgrows pediatricians :-). We love him - he's so patient with us (especially with me when I go to him with all kinds of silly-freaking-out-paranoid mom questions. I keep telling him that because of how he's treated my son (and "us"), I hope that my son chooses to be a pediatrician someday. Meridian Pediatrics have never failed us at time of need, be it a weekend or an after-hours on-call doctor call. Love Dr. Mazurek as well; she's such a delight to talk to. Haven't had a chance to interact with the rest of their team much, but I've heard nothing but great things about the entire team! read more

Extremely dissatisfied *review for office staff* Meridian Pediatrics fully embodies the saying a poor office staff can make or break you... they have definitely ruined our experience and overshadowed the care of our Physician after waiting 7 months to see improvement. When trying to leave a message with your Dr. you must communicate with the front desk first who will take down a handwritten note to pass along (nothing electronic) in which they hardly ever call you back, or if they do everything is incorrect. One of many examples includes being told someone will call me in 2 weeks to schedule a flu shot - no one called. After I followed up, I had a simple question and wanted the nurse to confirm. I had to beg the person at the front desk to ask the nurse, then I never got a call back from the front office staff. They will try to collect payment from you at the end of your appointment. This is ridiculous when you are holding an upset child who just got shots in one arm and have one hand that's hardly available to dig in your bag to get payment - NO OFFICE does this after an appointment .... you bill to insurance first!! Not to mention I've been told I owe something when I don't, come to find out they didn't update their records yet, therefore I would have overpaid. Their online payment system always defaults to one Physician only because there is an error. Things ended as poorly as they started. I called to obtain paperwork to release my daughter's medical records asking for a date to pick them up - no reply back from Shawna after two days. I called in to follow up and she said this was considered a rush so I would be charged an extra $20. It takes them 30 days to pull medical records. This expectation isn't outlined on the paperwork and no one in a professional business setting needs 30 days to complete this type of task. It is simply another example of how the office poorly operates. ** To make things even better and to further prove the office incompetence I just received an appointment reminder phone call 9 days after no longer being a patient for a future appointment! Shawna offered to cancel all my future appointments 9 days ago! She either didn't do her job or the office staff failed once again. This further supports my decision with confidence to select a new Pediatrician office. My only regret is not doing it sooner. read more
