I had found quite a bit of stuff for my mother and niece. The clerk even offered to gift wrap my items into a customized gift baskets tied with a beautiful ribbon free of charge. As they state, they've "...explored every corner of the state to bring you the best of South Carolina," and from what I've seen they have done that and then some. It's a really big store and has most everything one can think of that would be South Carolina related and most of the goods are of superior quality, not just cheap Chinese built trinkets. But the best part is the selection. They have everything from jewelry to clothing to home decorator items and the staff is more than willing to assist. It's really one of the better shops I've seen within or a part of any public museum.

Dolores made up her own rules and decided this purchase warranted a 25% restocking fee. Nowhere on their website is that Explained, nor was it explained to me verbally. Be cautious when purchasing. Slight correction Wally as well as Dolores both make up their rules on the fly. Nowhere on their website is this stated but my credit card company is already on it so all is well.

I took them back to the store with the receipt and asked if I could exchange them for the adult size, and that I would pay extra if there was a difference, but the lady said they had a return policy of 14 days or less and they couldn't take them back. It's not like I was asking for my money back, I just wanted to exchange for the correct size. 14 days seems very short for returns. I was less than a month from purchase when I went to the store. Yes, technically it's my fault for not checking the sizing and not bringing them back within 14 days, but nevertheless, I think their store policy SUCKS and I won't be patronizing their business again. I predict they will go out of business at some point... as people demand better customer service. Their name is Simply Southern. People equate "Southern" with hospitality, but that is not what I experienced at all!

I was planning on purchasing quite a few candles and car fresheners, but after I heard her and another customer speaking poorly about my kids (WHO WERE SITTING ON THE FLOOR AND READING A BOOK by the children's corner) just because they were not in their plain sight, I decided that I would never support a business who very clearly needed to give their issues with discrimination to The Lord. I kindly returned the items I was going to purchase back to their shelves and called to my girls and they put their books back nicer than they found them and we left to spend our money across the street. I understand what it's like having bad experiences with children when you're a business owner. I understand not appreciating unruly children. But my girls in no way were unruly, rude, or destructive in the least bit. I normally would have just let it go if it were just me, but my kids? Man, you pissed me off. There was no subtlety to your accusatory approach. Just pure ugliness. Over here lookin like homemade sin. Proud of my kids and how they handled themselves. As for the workers?
