It's a huge arena of exhibiting sales people, handing out free bags, sometimes pens and candy, mostly catalogs of different countries you may be thinking about visiting. I prefer exploring countries on my own, so I just walked through half of the super crowded, elbow to elbow, exhibits until my friend came on stage to dance. Great performance by the way.

I tried up until 2 hours before the event, and was on hold for hours. Don't use Ticketmaster and SeatGeek. They work as an agent, and never check out their sellers, and claim no responsibility!!!

I even got tickets on the day of the event. Be prepared to pick em up tho, but their office is like right next to the staple center. However, if you plan ahead and do your own research, you'll find that ticket nation will give you the best price. Sometimes they even give free parking.

Many vendors ran out of food half way thru the event! Long lines!…read more The Eastside Food Festival is supposed to be a three hour event, 5pm-8pm, with general admission tickets. VIP admission ticket holders go in at 4pm. $65 advance for general admission, $95 advance for VIP admission. At the gate it cost an extra $10. The event was held at Mack Sennett Studios, inside and outside of the studio. It was stuffy for the amount of people admitted to the festival. The lines were simply out of control, way too long, I think we waited almost 15-25 minutes for a burger. Out of all of the food festivals I have attended, this one had the longest lines. There were lines for alcohol every way you looked. The worst part was how fast the majority of vendors ran out of food. By 6pm, over three vendors were out of food. I noticed those vendors were either packing to leave, or walking around the festival eating and drinking. There could have been many more vendors out of food outside the studio, please note that I'm only counting the vendors located inside. That's where I was when I noticed this catastrophe. So, one hour in to the festival 9% of the vendors (possibly more) were out of food. Around 7-7:30pm, the majority of vendors had shut down and left. Unfortunately, we missed out on quite a number of tastings due to the lines and shortage of food. Here are some of the vendors that stayed there the longest: Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream, Boxed Water, Todo Verde Jugos & Smoothies, Lord Jones, Clover Juice, Challah Hub, and Venture Spirits. I probably missed a few, but for the most part it was empty. Some of my favorites: Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream - I tried their Brambleberry Crisp, Milkiest Chocolate, and Xocorosa. My favorite was the Brambleberry Crisp - oven-toasted oat streusel and a sweet-tart "brambleberry" jam of blackberries and blackcurrants layered throughout vanilla ice cream. It was delicious! If you are a fan of spicy, try the Xocorosa - tongue-tingling chocolate with jalapeño and smoked paprika, spiked with rose. Lord Jones - The chocolate sea salt caramels from Lord Jones were amazing. Sugar, cream, pure vanilla bean and butter. Each caramel is enrobed in pure 55% cacao dark chocolate. Wood - they had a clay fired oven, and it paid off. Their pizza was perfecto. El Cochinito - the rice! Yum! Overall, if you are VIP then maybe this event would be okay for you. I had a general admission ticket and I don't see myself returning to this food festival due to the lack of food supply and lines.

Of note this includes 3 alcoholic drink tickets. Of note if you paid for the VIP ticket at a price of 80 dollars you get to go in at 4pm and you get 5 drink tickets. The concept is great, they invite all the local restaurants from silver lake, echo park, los felix, downtown etc, and each are supposed to provide sample dishes from their restaurant, and you can try as much as you want. The drink tickets allowed you access to Angel City brewery beer, a Bombay Sapphire station that allowed you a choice between two of their specialty cocktails, and a whiskey area. Here's where it went wrong: Food - I guess vendors weren't given an approximation of to how much food to supply. I arrived 20 minutes after admission time, and by that time one of the vendors (Pine and Crane) had already ran out of their passion fruit green tea (this is at 520 pm!). We next noticed that Sticky Rice (from grand central market) was sampling their Khao Soi dish. As soon as we saw this we went to look for their stall and found a line with at least 40 people in it. We waited about 20 minutes in this line and they came and told the group in front of us that they were out. It was barely even 6 pm at this time, one hour into the event for general admission and two hours before the event was supposed to be done. There were a few other vendors like this, such as the baklava station. Also by 730 pm, most vendors were already shutting down/had already shut down operations. It is heinous that you pay 65 dollars for a food festival and you aren't even able to try certain vendors because they didn't bring/make enough. Also, who runs out of food at 6pm for an event that goes from 5-8pm (4-8pm for VIPs). The positives: the other vendors that did supply enough food, were great! Off the top of my head Jeni's ice cream, Starry Kitchen, Taste of New Orleans, and many that I can't remember the names off the top of my head. The event space was also nice and didn't feel overly crowded. DJ was good. Volunteers were very nice.

Just that itself gave it a automatic 3 stars because the Venue and it's view are magnificent! Now the event...! Better then the previous years!! Lots of stuff to see. Lots of vendors. One bad thing is if you are not the first batch to run around the event and put your name down for the free mini beauty services, you'll never get them. Because they usually are all filled out by the first hour or so of the event. :-( .I was lucky to get a hair service in but I had to wait 4 hours. By the 4th hour, I was so ready to go, I didn't care to get my hair done! This year, I absolutely love the Photo Booths! The Viral photo booths and the Hyundai dealers along with their props to dress up, or their other props, the 4 hot half naked guys.! :-) The drinks were good, they even have complimentary ice water for you to help yourself. The vendors their are not just there to sell you their products, they have games and giveaways for you ready to take home, as well as samples, and treats! The celebrities speakers were awesome! The Goody bags were so good! Instead of small little package of samples, it's filled with actual size upscale products. Unlike the "Shecky's" events goody bags that is filled with small pouches of samples and LEFT OVER products from previous year's inventory... (No Joke)

But of course... we were entertained by the half naked men of Pamper me Fabulous. :D Nice. VENDORS: They really had only three things you could do: nails (free), facial ($15), and massage ($15). I remember back in the day in OC when the PMF event had it all! I got eyelash extensions and my hair done... it was just great!... now... this is kinda sad. They did do well on the alcohol tastings and dessert tastings. I'll give them that. They only had ONE food vendor. That's not good. They told us the wait was 30 min to get your food. No, thank you. They were selling a lot more stuff than having people actually be pampered. The workout sessions also diminished. They used to have Beach Body workouts and Reebok workouts... but now... nothing - just yoga and breathing exercises. They also only had ONE photobooth this time :P Magnolia is cool. SWAG: Pretty sweet swag bag tho. Worth $21... possibly. :D OVERALL: I feel like it went a little downhill over time, but hopefully they can bring it back up by November's event.

Bring your own beer/wine and food as the concession stand is SUPER EXPENSIVE. $18.00 for a Modelo on tap! GET THERE EARLY! We got to the bottom of the hill at 6:10 for a 6:30 show and it took 30min to slowly creep up the hill to the parking lot. They only let 1 car at at time in so we missed some of the show. They start right on time as shows end on the early side to avoid disturbing the neighborhood. Get ready for walking (unless you like long lines for the shuttle bus) as everything is uphill.

It's an outdoor amphitheater tucked into the hills of Burbank, with a really intimate feel, but there's always plenty of room and a great view of the stage, - even in the nosebleeds. There's something about watching live music outside with the mountains around you on a summer night that takes the experience to the next level.

There's also always this smell up at the top. there's no good circulation in the whole area which if you have respiratory problems, I would not recommend this place. It's usually stuffy and has an odd smell. I Wish they had air purifiers throughout the whole location.

I will start by saying, I've attended shows at this venue a number of times and have highly enjoyed…read moremyself. A few weeks ago I went to a show that I was very excited about since last year. I spent money on the good seats up front (in this economy it was definitely a thought out purchase). My excited was out the door a few minutes in. They say explicitly at the start of each show that there are no phones allowed. Like I mentioned earlier, I've been to shows here before and have witness staff be quick to shut down anyone trying to take a picture or video. I really liked that about this venue because it allows for the audience to enjoy the show without any distractions. That was not the case this time around. Not long after the beginning of the show, phones started coming out. I though, "for sure someone will come tell them something soon". Spoiler: No one ever did, not once, the whole show. Other parties caught on that they would not be asked to stop so they joined in. I had 6 different phones going up and down in front of me the whole show. The most upsetting part for me was that staff did come into the area when guiding late comers to their seats. They saw the phones out and did nothing about it. I was so bummed by the end of the show to say the least. Now that I know the phone rule is no longer enforced I don't think I'll be back. I really liked that I could go to the Soraya and collectively experience a show in the moment without a sea of phones ruining the experience. However, that does not seem to be the case anymore.
