My husband had the coffee and my son had the shaved ice. Unfortunately there was not many choices for my son how is allergic to dairy. They had to make substitutions to accommodate his needs. Came around 8 with husband and this place was a total mess. Restroom is so dirty. Drinks took a while to come out because there is only 2 workers and an older lady that seems to be the owner with her hair down serving the drinks. The workers looked overworked as there was only a young lady and young guy having to do everything. A drink fell on the floor as well and the owner picked it up and put it back on the counter to give out to the customer. If I can give this place 0 stars I would, I come every weekend and it seems like they are always short staff and the drinks take a long time to come out. This is the last time I come here because the owner seems to not care about having drinks out in a timely manner to customers as there is only 2 people on shift all the time and workers look overwhelmed. I saw a lot of bad reviews for this place so I decided to check it out for my own...I came at around 9pm which is close to them closing. The location is in a plaza so parking wasn't an issue. The AC seems to finally be working (like the previous reviews complained about) and the location was very clean!! It smelled like it had a deep clean to the room. The girl who took our order was very nice to us and the boba only took about 5 minutes to make. We ordered the tiger sugar milk and and strawberry matcha. They were delicious! My issue is more with the overuse of Fabuloso for cleaning, and then, my last visit, I ended up with a small piece of metal in my drink. It looked like a piece of a steel scrubbie. Probably caught in a dish and not rinsed away. Not a big deal. And even though I was nearly finished with my Thai Tea with extra boba, they still offered a refund if I return to the store. They didn't even question me or ask for proof. Either they just trusted my word, or it wasn't the first time that had happened. I'm hoping it was the former. Ordered two açaí bowls using UBER eats. They both looked tasty but at the bottom of one of the bowls it had hard black plastic pieces!!! WTF is going on! I was in a dark room so I didn't see anything but with the first spoonful I bit into a piece of plastic. At first I thought it must be a hard piece of granola, so I just tossed it aside. However, we bought a box of macarons from there a few weeks ago and they smelled a bit funny--like a gym floor after a good shine. With so many better options in the area, do not bother with this place. The staff are nice, but the manager/owner just doesn't operate in a truthful manner. We'd tried to order here three or four other times, reasons for not being able to order from here included them closing earlier than posted hours, and them saying they were closed because their ice machine was broken so they couldn't make anything. On the day that the "ice machine was broken", we were on Yelp looking for another boba spot while still parked in front of the establishment and witnessed multiple people going in with what appeared to be mobile orders going in and having ice blended drinks made, so why did they lie to us? We were literally the only people we saw that were turned away. On this most recent visit, we were actually able to order. We tried to order extra boba in the drink and the cashier said they can't do extra boba, even though there was a menu option and additional fee to add it, she said they couldn't do it... weird. I gave the cashier my card and out of the corner of my eye spotted a "B" rating up on the window, which was not at eye level so it wasn't totally noticeable when we walked in or else I would have never entered. So I quickly told the cashier never mind, and to cancel the order before they started making the drink, but she had already run the payment. No biggie, right? Wrong. She said they couldn't do card refunds because they are unable to return the amount to the card.... ummm really? So basically I was out of luck and the sweet cashier was just kinda standing there not knowing what to do. Another, also friendly/nice, employee came and explained what the first one did about them not issuing card refunds. I asked her to call her manager so they could maybe figure out how to process it. While waiting for the amount to be refunded, I observed a few things: 1.) An employee knocking over beverage cups, them falling on the floor and those cups not being discarded 2.) Them touching surfaces in the front and in the back of the store, touching themselves(hair, face, clothing) and then preparing drink orders 3.) Cross contamination, if you have severe allergies, you probably shouldn't come here. Things were not properly cleaned between different drinks and they use the same spoon/spatula-thing for every drink too, which also doesn't get washed, just stuck into some funky looking unclean water. 4.) One visibly filthy rag being used to wipe everything from food prep surfaces, sinks, to drink cups/lids. I also don't mean just food residue on that rag, it looked like it's used to clean everyyyyything and rarely washed. I would not want that thing anywhere near the food prep surfaces or my drink/cup. So everything looked clean, but it definitely was not. 5.) Very little hand washing. Management seriously needs to be more on top of it, the employees are all super sweet, but the way they've been trained to do things is gross. The girl came back from contacting her manager and said they couldn't refund it back to my card but he gave her permission to give a cash refund, which in the end was what ended up happening, because nobody else had access to be able to issue a card refund. If the manager/owner isn't going to physically be there in person to handle that type of thing, he needs to grant at least one employee from each shift access to issue those refunds. It's horrible that he'd make the employees have to deal with it and be stuck in the middle of situations that should have never been an issue to begin with. The employee said the manager, Issac, said I could return and talk to him tomorrow. I didn't want to drive all the way back for this, to me that just wasn't a practical solution. I asked for the number there so I could reach him, she said that she couldn't provide it because he didn't want his personal information given out, maybe she misunderstood what I was asking? Eventually she went to the back and called him again. She finally provided me the information to the store, along with his first name so I could talk to him via phone rather than going back in, which I probably won't do either because I'm just over this whole fiasco. Again, the employees were all nice, especially the poor girl that was stuck in the middle because the store manager was MIA. But, after watching the way the drinks are prepared and the over all lack of cleanliness, this is nowhere I'd return to. read more
