Hamburger King is one of those classic Oklahoma gems that just hits you with nostalgia the moment…read moreyou walk in. The 50's-style diner setup is awesome, but the real fun is picking up the phone at your table to place your order. You don't see that anymore--and I absolutely loved it! We arrived just past the lunch rush, so things were nice and relaxed. I walked in thinking I'd order a burger... but the Chicken Fried Steak called my name, and I'm glad it did. Perfect portion size--not one of those giant plate-hogs--and served with mashed potatoes and cole slaw. The cole slaw deserves its own shoutout: rough-cut cabbage, creamy mayo dressing, and served cold just the way I like it. Everything on the plate was delicious. My wife went with the Chili Cheese Burger and potato wedges, and she gave it a big thumbs-up. And since it's a diner, I had to finish with a slice of Coconut Cream Pie. Let's just say--mission accomplished. Creamy, flavorful, and exactly what I was hoping for. If you love classic diners, friendly service, and comfort food done right, Hamburger King is absolutely worth the stop.

The outside was plain and clean and i loved it. The interior was the same, with western or native artwork on the walls, it had a clean nice look to it. Not overly fancy at all, but not the feel of a burger shop either. I treated myself to a Ribeye, and had the salad with the house dressing. Best dressing since the house dressing at Murphy's up in Bartlesville. a garlic pepper taste that i was absolutely loved. The size of the salad was enormous. I didn't get a picture of it and i wish i had. I had the ribeye, loaded mashed potatos, and veggie of the day, which was brocli, and it was the best i had in a long long time. Not sure how they cooked it, but it had spices that tasted good, garlic pepper (again i am a fan of both). The steak had the best flavor, and was a good cut of meat, and tender, even though it was slightly overcooked. Maybe 45 seconds to long on either side, I know it's a fine line and i didn't complain nor would i because it didn't affect it at all. Keep on Cookin!!!!! PRO'S: CLEAN GOOD FAST SERVICE PORTION SIZES - FAT BOY WAS FULL TASTE - I DIDN'T TASTE ANYTHING THAT WAS LESS THAN A 5 ON TASTE. CON'S: SIDE CHOICES - NEEDS TO BE SOMETHING ELSE ON IT WITH A VARAITY

After looking over the menu we decided to give it a try. It's a neat place with a cool vibe and great music in the background. We forgot to try their fried peaches, which we were drawn to on the menu when we were looking up Bully's, but I guess that means we need to stop back sometime. I'd stop back if I was passing through the area again. Happy to note they made some accommodations to the burger as I ordered my bun-less and without BBQ sauce.
