I had a fault with my brand new iphone 6 plus camera. After 2 months of use it stopped working properly and it wouldnt focus. After calling Apple Support and going through their steps, I was told I would be allowed to have my handset replaced as I explained that it is terrible how it ceased to work after 2 months.
So I went to the istore with my case number and my phone. When i told them what the fault was they proceeded to tell me to turn off find my iphone, take the password off and then was given my sim card. I had to ask what was going on as I was a bit confused as the sales assistant didnt explain the procedure/options/solution. They told me, as the previous reviewer said, that the only option for me was to have it fixed. I asked, so if it breaks again, what then? The SA said we will fix it AGAIN. SO I asked, if it breaks AGAIN? The SA continued, we will fix it AGAIN.
With that said, they reluctantly gave me the Apple Support number for Australia that would "send them verification and authorisation" to give me a new handset. Let me just say apple were amazing and they were extremely understanding at how frustrating this issue can be. Therefore, they updated my case number to say that I am entitled for a handset replacement. After the phone chat I was told to wait for about 10 to 15 minutes before going in and getting a new handset shouldn't be a problem.
I go in 30 minutes after the chat to ensure everything is all set however, the manager proceeds to tell me that there is no such confirmation on my case number and that the email received from the Apple Support assistant herself is an automated email that confirms our conversation, when in fact it was a personally written email that stated that the update should be on my case number and that if i had any questions I can call her or email her regarding this case. In which case the manager called me a liar or unintelligent to say the least.
All in all, the manager and his team, made my experience with iStore painful and awfully long. Even though I was told that I could be issued with a new handset straight away From Australia Head Office (given that they have stock.) When I got to the store they told me that they would have to wait for a confirmation from apple to say that that is the case and then have a new phone sent over from Australia which would take from 3-5 working days. read more
