I put my name and time on the clipboard as the sign and note stated and took a seat. 30 minutes go by without even a receptionist or tech showing their face. 10 minutes later another guy shows up and puts his name on the list and sits down. A couple of minutes later a patient walks out of the back and at 0915 a lady comes out and calls the other guy's name. She then asks if I'm still there, I say "yes" and she tells me it will be about 30 minutes because the other guy signed up online so they are going to see him first. I told her I had been there 45 minutes waiting already, over 30 minutes before that guy got here. She replied, "well we take online signups first then anyone else". I told her that was not advertised anywhere and I followed the instructions on their sign and clipboard, she said well it will be about another 30 minutes because they were going to see the other guy first. I told her to take me off the list and I'd go somewhere else that could actually provide patient care with a little customer service. How is this a walk in clinic? They should advertise it as an online sign up clinic and maybe tell people how it actually works. After working a long shift and feeling like crap, this is not what I needed. I went to a community hospital and was in and out in less time than I waited at the "walk in/online sign up" clinic. I told them what had happened and they said they couldn't believe that happened and that they would not have been as nice as I was. Advice- don't waste your time here, go to a Walgreens or CVS clinic, or go to a community hospital for non-emergent issues.

I wobble-walked my dizzy, dehydrated self in (but I imagine they can assist you with a wheelchair if you ask), and quickly and easily got registered. I think that process would have been just as efficient at this facility even if I hadn't arrived carrying my personal barf bag! The receptionist was pleasant and more than willing to change the channel on the waiting room TV when I told her that watching Rachel Ray preparing food was more than I could stomach, literally! A perk in the waiting room is a small refrigerator with bottled water, but as tempting as that was, I knew that whatever went in would just come back up! It didn't take long to get me into a clean, utilitarian exam room, where the male nurse asked about my symptoms and took my vitals. Shortly thereafter the doctor entered, did a "system check," and tested me for influenza. Both the nurse and doctor were professionally friendly and compassionate, took the time to ask questions, and to listen and explain throughout the process. It wasn't long before there was a preliminary diagnosis (not the flu), I was offered and accepted an on-the-spot, (thankfully) fast-acting anti-nausea injection, written after-care instructions, and given a prescription for nausea that they called in to my pharmacy. I highly recommend this facility in Lenexa, and chose it on the basis of positive reviews by other Yelpers, all of which turned out to be accurate. You can go on a walk-in basis any time they are open, or if you feel up to it, go online at any time to sign up for a scheduled appointment if available. I have now been there twice, and my second experience was just as good, and a welcome change from any hospital emergency room!

Shortly after arriving I was told i would be seen by the Doctor Travis Williams - he eventually came out took a good look at my hand & explained what procedure he was going to take to get me up and out of there. I was eventually called to the back where my height & weight was taken & then told to wait in the patient room. Not long after Dr.Williams came in and saw me crying due to experiencing a high volume of emotions at once & did an amazing job helping me relax so he could start my numbing and sutures. WHEN I TELL YOU - TRAVIS WILLIAMS NEEDS A PAY RAISE IMMEDIATELY & IM NOT OVER EXAGGERATING OR JOKING. GIVE THE MAN A BONUS OR SOMETHING!!!!! Dr.Williams is honestly god-sent & when it comes time I will have to go back 11/10/25 to get these stitches out & I plan to call up there to try and schedule an appointment with Dr.Williams because he did just such a good job . I hope everyone who comes here is able to experience this the the way I did !

Best part of the experience. I was not very happy that I had to wait 30 minutes upon arrival - as I had completed their online check in and online health history but they made me fill everything out again. Strike one. It gets bad though. They had me go through all of the steps and give me urine sample JUST to tell me over an hour into the process that they don't have a DLT certified physician on site to conduct my physical. That's just plain stupid and disorganized administration. I wasn't even supposed to have a dot physical and EXPRESSED that at the first point I got there. Everyone was very pleasant, they just weren't very great at their jobs on scheduling, organizing, and administering pre employment checks. Go elsewhere.

We waited for an hour as there was only one doctor but I did learn you can make an online reservation. Another big perk was as you walk in if you have cold or flu signs you are handed a mask right away. I was comfortable sitting and waiting because of this. They have coffee, tea and water. The room was clean and I'm glad they had a small TV with cable because I did have to wait in the room about 30 minutes which has not been the case in other visits. The APRN came in and he was nice as well and took his time and ordered a sonogram for me. Unfortunately the only imaging at urgent care's tend to be X-rays. So since it was a Friday I will probably have to wait until next week. The nurse that came in to explain the paperwork was also nice. I will continue to go there in the future since I tend to get in more quickly than other urgent care centers.

I'll shorten this. I have been to the Minute Clinic #8586 in Southern Overland Park due to excessive ear wax; I saw Karen Parmerly, NP both times. On my last visit, as she was flushing out an ear, she said "you need to get this spot on your sternum checked.". I did, and it was early stage Melanoma and I am awaiting a surgeon call. Karen was awesome with my ear issues, caring, thorough and Professional, but went over and beyond by pointing this out to me. I don't think I would be overstating, Karen saved me life. She cared enough to be direct and go beyond what was her scope for that visit. Words cannot express my gratitude! I'm a Minute Clinic fan. It has been easy to get appointments when increasingly hard to get an appointment with your own PC.

Now I'm getting even more bills from them (from the same visit), but their 2FA system hasn't been working, so I can't log in--so the only way to discuss it is by calling in, and there are 3+ hour hold times, so I haven't been able to discuss the billing with anyone. (Also, the provider was mistaken about the various prices so ended up actually giving us the more expensive option for some of the vaccinations.)

She was very dismissive and even after hearing what happened to me the last time I had a puncture (horrible pain, horrible bilateral infection, had to have a procedure done by an ENT, 3 rounds of antibiotics, pain meds, couldn't hear, and panic attacks), told me she would not prescribe an oral antibiotic because it was too soon for an infection to have developed and "that's not how antibiotics work." She stated that even for a perforation, ear drops are not recommended. When I asked what could be the possible reason that I was in excruciating pain just 4 hrs after the rupture happened last time if infections take 2 days to develop, the response was "It doesn't look like you were seen by anyone in Saint Luke's Health System for that, so I would be unable to comment on what happened before, I can only address what's happening now." She said there would not be anything she could do for me since I did not have an infection yet. The implication was clearly "Don't come in." Not a bit of compassion. I saw a doctor at a different urgent care who told me the nurse practitioner's medical advice was INCORRECT and unprofessional. She was concerned that it was someone in her system and if it had been she would have "called and yelled at them". Her words. My drum was not perforated, yet the doctor prescribed me antibiotic ear drops prophylactically based on my history. I would not trust the bit@h you have working there to treat my DOG.
