I checked in / got in line online and upon arrival and entering, I got greeted by two VERY KIND black women who helped me get all settled in and constantly checking up on me to make sure I was okay considering I had a pretty deep cut on my hand. Shortly after arriving I was told i would be seen by the Doctor Travis Williams - he eventually came out took a good look at my hand & explained what procedure he was going to take to get me up and out of there. I was eventually called to the back where my height & weight was taken & then told to wait in the patient room. Not long after Dr.Williams came in and saw me crying due to experiencing a high volume of emotions at once & did an amazing job helping me relax so he could start my numbing and sutures. WHEN I TELL YOU - TRAVIS WILLIAMS NEEDS A PAY RAISE IMMEDIATELY & IM NOT OVER EXAGGERATING OR JOKING. GIVE THE MAN A BONUS OR SOMETHING!!!!! The attention to detail, constantly making sure I was okay, beyond kind & such a sweet soul to even encounter. He did SUCH A GOOD JOB, IM STRUGGLING TO LITERALLY PUT IT INTO WORDS. Dr.Williams is honestly god-sent & when it comes time I will have to go back 11/10/25 to get these stitches out & I plan to call up there to try and schedule an appointment with Dr.Williams because he did just such a good job . I had an unpleasant experience for my preemployment drug screening. I had a nice man, Derrick I believe, who was my tech and assisted with my exams. He was great. Best part of the experience. I was not very happy that I had to wait 30 minutes upon arrival - as I had completed their online check in and online health history but they made me fill everything out again. Strike one. It gets bad though. They had me go through all of the steps and give me urine sample JUST to tell me over an hour into the process that they don't have a DLT certified physician on site to conduct my physical. That's just plain stupid and disorganized administration. I wasn't even supposed to have a dot physical and EXPRESSED that at the first point I got there. Everyone was very pleasant, they just weren't very great at their jobs on scheduling, organizing, and administering pre employment checks. Go elsewhere. read more

The woman at the front desk is unprofessional and rude. She refused to explain something more than one time but she is hard to understand with a thick accent. When I asked her how long the wait would be she said "i already told you". We waited an hour with an appointment in the waiting area. I was nothing but kind to her and she was an evil c*unt the whole time. We got back into the room I was tested for the flu and was told it would take 15 minutes. It took 2 hours for them to tell me I had the flu. My nurse and doctor were pleasant. I was told the WiFi went down but communication would have been very appreciated instead of waiting two hours unmediated with the flu. Going to the emergency room would have been better. read more

I visited your urgent care location at Antioch and 95th Street and was extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism and patient care displayed by the front desk staff. Upon arrival, I was instructed to complete the entire check-in process myself, including scanning my ID and insurance cards, while multiple front desk staff members sat on their phones. It is frustrating to see staff compensated to provide these services while patients are expected to do it themselves. Shortly after, I was called to the desk and told I had a balance. I asked if my secondary insurance had been billed, as it usually covers remaining balances. The staff member replied, "I don't know." When I asked for the billing department's phone number, she did not have it readily available, and another employee--who appeared annoyed to put down her cell phone--reluctantly helped provide it. I was then called up again and asked, "Is your last name C***?" I explained that I was married in August and recently changed my name, so my secondary insurance still reflects my maiden name. I was told that she couldn't "verify" my insurance. At that point, I chose to leave. This experience was not only unprofessional, but completely unacceptable--especially from a healthcare facility entrusted with patients' personal and medical information. Refusing care over a last name mismatch while openly displaying unhelpful and rude behavior is concerning and reflects poorly on this clinic. Going on 8 days without pretty crucial lab results. I understand they can't do anything about it, but it's definitely how you treat the patient. I shouldn't have to call every day asking for test results and be treated with the same attitude. It almost feels like I'm annoying them for results they told me I would have in 5 days. I ask to speak to a doctor. They tell me they'll call back. Never do. I try my hardest to put myself in other peoples shoes. But simply saying "we will call when we have something" without any update is insane to me. I've never been in a clinic that doesn't update/call back their patients. I've given up lol. Wish I could give a separate review for the receptionist, she was super nice and helpful. However, I waited an hour and a half for a physical just for the doctor to refuse to see me. Mind you I called before hand and asked if they did school physicals and vaccines and they said yes. The receptionist gave my school physical form to the doctor and he said yes he would do it, then an hour and half later he gave it back to her and said he would not do it and that I had to go to a PCP. I do NOT recommend going to the CareNow center in Overland Park, KS. The Physician Assistant (PA) is very inexperienced. If it wasn't for the patient's friends, a request to have blood drawn (CBC) would not have been ordered -- friends requested the CBC. The PA dismissed the patient has having allergies and to use Flonase. This was GROSSLY inaccurate. The CBC results identified the patient was in a life threatening situation. Where do you think the patient would be today if friends didn't request the CBC? No one would know the critical condition. The patient could have died by now, within days of the CareNow visit. The CareNow center 'left a message' to the patient to go to the ER. Now, if the situation is life threatening, do you think a patient in ill health can get to the phone message? NO call was made to emergency contacts. Nothing but 'left a message'. NO follow-up. Thankfully, the patient's friend called the CareNow center and asked for a status on the CBC, wherein she was told that the patient needed to go to the ER. No indication of the criticality of why the patient needed to go to ER. The CareNow center didn't reference 'immediate' or 'life threatening condition' ... nothing. Friends took the patient to ER. Bottom line, the patient is in a life threatening, critical condition that was only identified by the CBC results. The CareNow center is NOT concerned about patients. They are rude, one person hung-up on me, and are very inexperienced. This event is relative to the staff working at ~2p+ on 2-September-2024. I tried to contact the manager of this office in Overland Park (95th & Antioch) ... in meetings and the CareNow employee did not know when the manager would be back. Called CareNow Home office in Texas ... awaiting a return call. I'm not too confident I'll get a return call. I will keep trying. This is a case of negligence / Medical Malpractice / Failure to Recognize and Respond to Emergencies / Negligent Hiring or Supervision!!!!!! read more

Extremely rude nurse practitioner Tara. Seen for strep throat and was prescribed antibiotics. I asked if I was able to go pick them up now and she goes "I don't know, I don't work there" with an attitude. Felt rushed and shut down during my visit when I asked questions. I then asked for a doctor's note (required for school) and she seemed frustrated to go print me one and tells me to wait in the waiting room. Didn't even tell me I was good to go or a "I hope you feel better." As a provider it is expected to have compassion for your patients who come in SICK already not feeling well, and left feeling worse after my visit. A lot of the times when things like this happen it's not because your patient is trying to inconvenience you, it's because they simply don't know. This is my go-to location because it's the only place I know of that takes my insurance, and haven't had a bad experience until my visit today. read more

I went to CareNow on May 8, 2022 because I was sick. I checked in at the front desk and gave them my insurance info, Medicare as the primary carrier and my supplementaI as secondary insurance. CareNow entered my secondary insurance as my PRIMARY insurance and Medicare as SECONDARY. As of this writing I have been fighting with them to straighten out my insurance for almost ONE YEAR. Received multiple bills, was turned over to collection when I shouldn't have been. Luckily, they reversed that process. So when you give your insurance information to the front desk, ask them for a copy of what they have entered. I just spoke with the patient services and they told the refund process is still in progress and so call back in another 10-20 days before it is finalized. That will make it Over A YEAR. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE FOR ANY COMPANY TO TREAT CUSTOMERS LIKE THIS. read more

Came here once this week already. Was told it was "something viral". No meds no nothing. $189 WITH insurance. 3 days later I feel like I'm on the verge of death. Called about a follow up visit and was told it would be $189 again, in the same week, ridiculous, I was just going to move on. Receptionist went out of her way to call me back and tell me "hey if you are coming back for a follow up, it's only $50!" So I come back only to be told it's going to be $189 again. This place is like a caricature of the American health care system. I walked in as I needed to get a strep test and it was completely empty. I was given a quote of $100 with my insurance which I guess is fairly standard, I paid in advance and then was slapped with another 50 dollar bill about a month later with no further explanation, which was super frustrating. I was told it would be a few minutes but it took about 30 minutes waiting to be seen. Once I was taken back it felt very old and dated in the room. The seat had a huge tear and it kind of felt like that room had just seen better days. The nurse gave me the strep test, then the doc came in and confirmed I probably had strep even though the test was negative. I later contracted hand foot and mouth from my toddler so I was likely mis-diagnosed. Was it a horrible experience? No. Could it have been better? Definitely. Would I go again? If I had to. It's so close to my house and I'm not sure many of these are much better, but my experience with urgent cares is not very expansive. read more

Absolutely terrible! I went in because my doctor's nurse told me to get checked out since I was having a racing heart rate and could not get it down, along with some trouble getting a deep breath. I was taken back to a room quickly, set down for about 5 minutes, the doctor came in and said I don't think we can help you, you just need to go to the ER. No testing on my heart or lungs or anything. Whatever, so went to the ER and got actual help and resolution. Come a few weeks later, I notice that they billed my insurance still! For NOTHING! I received no "care" and they still billed my insurance and are trying to charge me $125 to tell me they can't help me! Atrocious. I would NOT recommend this clinic to ANYONE. If you have ANY other option....GO THERE! After trying to get ahold of someone for 2 WEEKS, the office manager FINALLY calls me back ( since they asked me to call them because they want to "work with me to resolve this". I get someone who doesn't care that I was charged to NOT BE SEEN. This place is the biggest SCAM of a "healthcare" place I have EVER been to. I would give this place negative stars for care and customer service if that were possible. They do not care about you. Only money. They did not care I was upset about being charged NOT to be helped. I was here last week. The receptionist/ front desk lady is very nice. The Nurse Practitioner was nice as well. The Medical Assistant is another story. She clearly was having a bad morning, or hates her job. I was the 2nd person there that morning so I am guessing she hates her job. She has the personality and warmth of a wet blanket let outside in a blizzard.I wish I would have gotten her name- she sure didn't tell me. I am tempted to drive a bit further to another location or check my insurance to see where else I can go should I need to be seen in the near future. I also work in healthcare. I would never treat someone like I was treated. I wish I would have said something to the NP about the attitude of the MA. This is an update The antibiotics I was prescribed did not work and I had to call to get the results of my own tests regarding my UTI. I was assured that the anabiotic's that I was given would take care of the UTI that I had. I explained that I was on my last day end it was not helping. And requested an alternative. The NP called me back and she explained that the bacteria was unusual and suggested amoxicillin. She also kind of complained the fact that I said amoxicillin didn't work for me. I reiterated the fact that it does not typically work. But Ive only tried it for illnesses such as bronchitis. I foolishly agreed to try to get it. I was skeptical since it's a anabiotic that's used for common UTIs and according to the NP my UTI was unusual. So I started the amoxicillin Tuesday night. It's Friday morning and I'm still not feeling well. I should have been more insistent on my request for Macrobid or Bactrim. I do agree she has more medical experience than I do but I'm not without my knowledge as well, As it is I do have some medical experience of my own and know multiple nurses and pharmacist. ( have been a CNA MA and I am now a certified Pharmacy Technician.) I am now I'm trying to decide if I want to call back and demand something else or go another route entirely. I wonder in the pharmaceutical company gives her money for every Amoxicillin Rx she writes. Conversely I was at the one in Olathe on 119th St. if you weeks ago when I fell and hurt my back. They were very nice there and I cannot complain. Furthermore I have notified customer service about the experience at the location on 95th St. read more

They refused to accept it or even put it in and wanted me to pay a full visit price because the card was not sent to me yet. There's a reason their Yelp reviews are so much lower than their google reviews-- you can guess which ones are accurate. Notice the staff only responds to positive reviews, not negative ones. They have a fake legal document they threaten clients with who inform them they're commencing audio recording, which is not a HIPAA violation when the content discussed and parties present consist only of one patient and their care team. This is the most efficient urgent care centers that I have visited. The nurse that brought me in and assisted me was excellent. The xray was taken by her as well and she even invited me in to take a look at them myself. Dr. Henry was very caring and intuitive. He recommended what I knew should be done (staying off the fractured ankle) vs.my self sufficient can do all attitude. It took one day back at work to realize he was right after all. There were several others that came in while I waited for the radiologists report and they too were served in a very timely manner. The small details like the Keurig machine and snacks made an impression as well. By the way, the cafe escapes Chai Latte is one of the best k cups I've had. Don't hesitate to walk in for whatever care you need. read more

I'm visiting here from out of state but my daughter recommended this place. I was able to get an appointment online so I had a very short wait. The receptionist was helpful and had a good attitude. The medical assistant who took my vitals and medical info was so pleasant and very professional. She really put me at ease. After seeing her it took just a few minutes for the doctor to come in. Although he didn't have much of a bedside manner he was thorough. I was diagnosed and had my prescription sent to the pharmacy quickly. As someone with a lot of medical problems I'm often worried to go to a walk-in clinic, but after this visit my mind is changed. read more

Upon my arrival, the very clerk that I spoke to told me they only contract at a very high rate with my insurance company. Exactly what she did not tell me over the phone. I have a family of 4 who needed to get Flu shots. I went to the first location in Martin City to be told they didn't have enough vaccines to administer to my entire family. After calling 2 other clinics I found the Care Now in Overland Park. I was informed they had the vaccines. Upon arrival and check-in we were told by the front desk it would only be a few minutes before they could give us our shots. While we waited for an hour, there was woman with a sprained ankle and a child with an ear ache waiting as well. Both were called back and we continued to wait. The front desk clerk was busy talking to her boyfriend who was standing at the front desk with flowers. I inquired about the wait time for 4 simple flu vaccines and was told that it would be at least another 30 minutes because they still hadn't taken an x-ray. I asked for a refund because it shouldn't take an hour and a half to get a flu shot. I would have check-in online but it states you shouldn't use Web Check-in for vaccinations. I was on vacation in KC and developed a high fever and severe abdominal pain. Searching YELP, I selected this Care Now and showed up. I am glad I did. The care I received was of the highest quality. Dr. Gary Bernhardt attended and spent quality time listening before drawing conclusions. His years of experience informed his examination. My wife was with me, and he allowed her to add her perspective; he took her opinion seriously. They have x-ray services on site which was also a help in my case. All this led to a proper diagnosis which actually explained some issues I had been having for years. I was able to get back to my vacation! if you live locally, and need an urgent care, this is an excellent choice! read more
