Not a great service. Fresh nice salad with the breakfasts. The decor looks cool but the menus have been through a lot.

Smoked turkey avacado sandwich, falafel pita (with the works!), pasta pomodoro and salted beef plate with side of potatoes/peppers. Absolutely would come back, highly recommend!

Here's what I found. When I came in there were seven or eight customers, yet the place was noisy. Staff noise, lots of people moving around doing what? Not a quiet meal but I was hungry so I put up with it. The server took my order: a (huge) bowl of soup, a salt beef on rye with mustard, and what I thought would be a small order of cole slaw on the side, and a glass of water. About ten or fifteen minutes after I arrived, a guy came and sat down near me and ordered. Then I began to wait. Within five or six minutes, the fellow on my right, received his food. The server had brought me my water, which was the only thing she did right. I sat and waited for at least another 15 minutes. Finally I pointed out to the server that I had arrived earlier but the man to the right was already eating his meal. She finally went and got the soup, which probably should have come immediately. The soup was absolutely the worst I have ever eaten in my 81 years on this planet. It smelled like dirty sink water, and tasted like it too. It had matzah balls, which were mediocre at best, and I ate them, but the soup was beyond disgusting. Then I waited some more until I could get the eye of the server. I let her know I was ready for the salt beef. The meat was lean, as I had asked for, but it was quite dry and barely warm, like it had been sitting for a bit. It also lacked sufficient mustard for me so I had to ask a different server for more. My server(?) never appeared again. The cole slaw was fine, an exception to everything else except it was a very large order and cost 11 pounds, I think. To pay my bill, which came to over 38 British pounds (more than $50), I had to signal another server since mine had, as I noted, disappeared. The final price, for what I got, was not just exorbitant, it was highway robbery, as we say in America. Noise, horrible service and server, horrible soup, mediocre salt beef --- possibly the worst experience I've ever had in a Jewish deli, and I've eaten in dozens all over the US, in Canada, in Ireland, in England, and even in Israel. I'll never to back to Ruebens and I don't advise anyone else to either.

There weren't very many customers, so we had the pick of restaurant in terms of tables we choose a really nice one in a zen feeling room. The son upon asking us about drinks told us they make a really good chai. So my daughter and I ordered that. True to word they do and they included a cookie for us to try with it! The sandwiches, paninis and bagels we ordered were good as well with one hiccup...My daughter ordered an egg and avocado sandwich and the avocado was not ripe, so that was disappointing to her. My husband and I enjoyed our food. They had some games at the table so it was fun to play those while we waited. Overall, a good experience, it was relaxing and as we were leaving the son gave my daughter a pastry and said he was sorry about the avocado. We thought that was a really nice gesture and it was appreciated.

This shop on Brick Lane was a great find for a light breakfast. Located in the midst of the street…read moremarket and the specialty shops that give Brick Lane its character, this establishment has a more work-a-day simplicity by comparison, yet is still extremely popular. It is strictly takeaway as there is really no place to sit and eat. The small shop is very straightforward with just a deli-like counter from which to see the goods and order. We were there on a very busy Saturday morning. We queued up in a line of people that extended out the door. They were pretty good about keeping the line moving, however, and we placed our order within 6 or 7 minutes of joining the queue. My wife had a Peanut Butter-Filled Plain Bagel, which she liked quite a lot. I had Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese on an Everything Bagel. It was very good. The service was very efficient and reasonably pleasant and the prices were quite fair. We will go back if we ever have the chance to do so in the future.

They are best known for their salt beef bagels. At the front, in their store window, premade salt beef bagels are ready to be fixed with either or both mustard and pickles. Various pastries/desserts are displayed in their counter ready to go. Note: no table seating inside, just counter tops. Ordered : Salt beef bagel- bagel warm, generous amounts of salt beef, mustard, and sliced pickles. The bagel was over slathered with a horseradish mustard, so much, that it overpowered the taste of the beef. Smoked salmon bagel without cream cheese- underwhelming. Bagel was cold and hard. I did not eat the top half of the bagel. Minimal amount of smoked salmon. The girl behind the counter looked like she could care less to be there and wasn't super friendly or helpful. All in all, happy to have tried it, not sure I'd come back again for more ...
