The three course lunch is an absolute deal in this part of town, and the selection of courses from home made pasta, to duck confit (digne of a French brasserie) and vanilla crème brûlée to finish for those with a sweet palette. Upon request for wine recommendations, the owner immediately offered me to try different wines out of which I selected the best pairing for my meal. I could tell locals know about this place since they all greeted each other as they waked in. Perhaps the wine is talking now, but this place made the best of a Fall rainy day in London. I'll be back very soon!

La Cage Imaginaire is a small, delightfully quaint, traditional French-Mediterranean restaurant…read morewhich can be found tucked away in the picturesque cobbled street of Flask Walk in Hampstead. Its interior is intimate, romantic, white-tablecloth elegant - the perfect place for a meal with that someone special or even a quiet business lunch. There's a really good set menu for lunch (served between 11:30 and 17:00): 2 courses for £15.95 and 3 courses for £19.95 - very reasonable considering the quality. I had the amazing Wild Mushroom Risotto topped with Parmesan to start. I loved it. Highly recommended. My friends started with the slightly bland French Onion Soup and a specially prepared, tangy garden salad (not on the menu). I moved on to their Sirloin Steak (250g) which, while tasty, was cooked more medium than the medium-rare I asked for. Like the delicious Stuffed Chicken Breast with Brie Cheese and Wholegrain Mustard Sauce which my companion had, my steak was also served on a bed of mashed potatoes and asparagus; mine with a lovely red wine sauce. The third member of our group didn't have a main, reserving space for a Banana Crepe with Butterscotch Sauce for dessert instead. I finished with the sinfully delightful Dark Chocolate Mousse. Service at La Cage Imaginaire was friendly and attentive thanks to a lovely Italian lady who had visited my home base of Dubai the year before. She was the life and soul of this cute little eatery, effortlessly chitchatting with each of the tables each time she visited them (which was quite frequently). It was so refreshing to have someone add that personal touch. The food at this restaurant is good but it's the service and ambience which convinced me to go back when I am next in London - worth a visit. Hey! Monday night, a last minute decision to eat out. Choices to be made…read more One of the reasons I like Hampstead so much is the variety of French cuisine. My family spent time in France when I was growing up and French cuisine is my equivalent to other peoples bake beans on toast. Tonight we chose Cote. It's one of our regulars for breakfast but, in truth, we've never been for diner. It was semi full, the staff attentive. We 'of course' all chose Fillet Steak, two rare one medium rare. The steaks took a little more time, than they should, to arrive and unfortunately when they did, the two rares looked & tasted more like a medium than rare. Our waitress was quickly called over, took one look at the steaks and immediately took one away. Moments past before the manager appeared apologising for the steaks. He was professional, apologetic and quick to remedy the situation. If it hadn't been for him, we would have walked out, never to return. While we waited for our food we were given free frites (french fries). He asked if he could give us free starters while we waited, but we declined. The food came back with brand new vegetables and even more frites. We ended the night with Coupe Noir & Coffee, and the night ended up being relaxed and just what we needed. The manager and his attitude saved the night and because of our experience dealing with him I know we'd be happy to return.

The restaurant, always busy, has an excellent menu, offering a good choice of appetizers, entrees and deserts, plus a well chosen wine list, all very reasonably priced. Additionally, the food preparation, presentation and quality are all first class and the service here is both professional and friendly. Finally, I would sum up to say that I have found the overall dining experience here to be very satisfying and will continue to come back here for more.

Creative and extremely well presented dishes - I can highly recommend the pork belly, which comes with an Asian bbq sauce. Overall, don't expect your typical neighbourhood Asian restaurant, it's really a fusion restaurant offering British and international dishes with a Korean twist. The menu isn't big - which I like - I'm always a bit suspicious when small places maintain a huge menu with 30 mains, as this is nearly impossible to do if you care about freshness and quality.. Definitely worth checking out!

I ordered their fried chicken burger with stir fried kimchi for sides. The burger was awesome. This is not like any standard burger, it is fusion food therefore the food looks different too. The burger had crispy fried chicken and also fried egg Ruth runny yolk. I absolutely love runny egg... it was bliss. Please note that it's very difficult to eat without making your hands really messy. The sauce and the tomatoes in the burger with the runny egg start oozing out and it is extremely hard to look civilised while eating it. But the food is delicious and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Would definitely go here again.

I sat outside under their canopy in the evening, when a few passing showers went by. I enjoyed the cool weather, by preference. A comfortable sidewalk table. I decided to try the Fruitti Del Mar pizza, as I was looking for something French (not here), then maybe risotto, and eventually settling on this concoction. I like shellfish, like clams, mussels, squid, shrimp, and so forth, and I like Margherita pizza, so why not a Fruitti Del Mar pizza? So, I'm not sure I get the concept of a pizza with these shells on it, other than it looked cool. But I initially took all the seafood out of their shells, and then ate the pizza like a pizza. In the end, I still am not sure I get the concept of this pizza, but I like shellfish and it was all cooked correctly, and I like a Margherita pizza, and the pizza was great. In fact, they use fresh Mozzarella cheese, which means you will have a wet pizza. However, a soggy crust in the middle of the pizza is a small price to pay for the fabulous taste of fresh Mozzarella. All things considered, I will come back here, but I'll try the risotto next time. I'm in.
