I responded to an…read moreadvertisement on Facebook but unfortunately it was a long time with a few calls included until I got a response and was able to scheduled an in-house measure-up, etc. We went down to the showroom to check out the fabric choices more closely and all the samples we looked at from the catalog that we really liked were no longer available. Why were they in the book? While we did get a quote on a less preferred brand that at least had a few fabrics we liked reasonably well, being the picky type, we finally decided to go elsewhere. I have no problem recommending Budget Blinds. My spouse and I just didn't feel like continuing on to ordering after the disappointing issues with an out of date sample catalogue. I think they need to do a better job with their communications and customer service. Their estimator really tried though to make us happy.

He was great at communicating and always showed up when he said he would. Once the blinds were installed, he showed us how to use the app to control the blinds. . He patiently answered all of our questions and gave amazing service - a rare commodity! In the past, we ordered blinds online and installed them ourselves. The quality and professional installation of their product made a huge difference. We are so glad we used them.

I contacted the 2 bigger companies who install Hunter Douglas in Victoria and Victoria Blinds and Closets. The other guys said it would take at least 8 - 10 weeks for the product to arrive. Victoria Blinds said 3-4 weeks and the quoted price was more than $200 less. I was delighted when my new Hunter Douglas blind was installed just under 4 weeks later. Terrible product, no quality control, poor customer service. Disappointed all around…read more Process took 5 months in total. Blinds arrived in the wrong size for one window & damaged for the other. Valences were the wrong colour for one of the blinds. First installer had dirty hands - fingerprints on the blinds and the walls. Cords cut improperly. Second attempt, blinds were the right size but the visible mechanisms were the wrong colour. Third installation attempt had to be made to fix everything. 2nd installer was friendly and did his best. Not a surprise, the salesperson passed us off to someone else. While it appeared to be that person's job to deal with issues she didn't seem to care much, glossed over the problems and blamed it on the manufacturer. Zero follow up from anyone once the job was complete and they took the full remaining balance off my credit card. 10% off for the 3 times I had to be at home for the installs would have gone a long way. Would not recommend this business.

I waited 7 weeks ( !!) for their call; no apology or explanation for the excessive delay. In the meantime, I booked Dyler Windows & Blinds, who came out within 2 weeks to complete the repair and charged me only $107- (not $175) to do the job. Dyler were also 25% cheaper than R&B to install a new Hunter Douglas bedroom blind. I will never do business with Ruffell & Brown again.
