I signed up on the 22nd of last month and there were 2 holidays where they were closed, 1 day where i go in and the 18 year old girl who they leave to run the business without knowledge on how to fix anything when the system goes down, turns me away bc nothing is working, i go today and my month of tanning is already over, what a rip off. read more

Found this place when I first moved to Newtown just over a year ago and have had a membership ever since. They are a little on the pricier side (compared to other salons around the US) but are probably right on par for the area. The place is always clean, has a wide variety of tanning beds, and is open until 9 on weekdays, which is a huge plus for someone with a busy work schedule. I've had nothing but pleasant experiences with their staff. The young woman who helped me with some membership questions this afternoon was very informative and polite. As an added bonus, they have multiple locations in the area, and a membership allows you to have access to all of them. I'm most familiar with Newtown but have also used the Fairless Hills location with the same experience. read more

I have been a customer with Island Sun for over 10 years. Today, the snotty girl behind the desk was extremely unprofessional. I made a conscience decision during covid to NOT freeze my membership because I wanted to support the local small businesses... but today, my decision has completely changed and will no longer give this place any more of my money. Been going there for years I even have the throwback tshirt from 2008 I've had premium memberships upgrading every single visit to most expensive bed, lotions, merchandise, teeth whitening, countless accessories , clothing, I even bought a couple ugly purses and jewelry years back when they first brought them in to support. I stopped tanning and completely forgot to cancel the membership I guess they kept trying to charge my card and now My account has an outstanding balance because my card was hacked and I had to cancel it. I go back few months later to start tanning again and they want me to pay balance but can see i had not been tanning since the time the balance started so it's not like I got anything for free! I never write reviews ever but the whole experience of going and finding out I had a balance and being talked to like a bum who owes them money in front of a bunch of people was really disappointing after all of these years. I had the pleasure of using their Norvell spray booth and it was so easy! Not only does the booth walk you through all the steps, but the staff was amazing! She was sure to explain every step of the process before hand. She was very kind and made me feel confident that my tan would be great! The tan came out even and smooth without any scent however I did use the primer they suggested! The atmosphere was warm which was welcoming! After the spray was finished, it was completely dry to the touch and I felt comfortable getting dressed again without fear of smudging or streaking. After care steps were provided and I left happy! LOVE love love this place. I've been tanning here for about 2 years now and the staff and the facility are amazing. They always have the cutest clothes and the best deals. Being a member is the best choice you can make ,you get great discounts especially if you're someone like me that only tans about twice a week, it's super cheap. I literally don't know where else I would tan if it ever closed. I've been to a bunch of places and the staff are always super snobby and not helpful and the tanning beds are disgusting. read more

The customer service is absolutely terrible! The manager, Alexis, is incredibly rude and unprofessional. Every time I come in there they try and push me on some product and then dismiss me when I'm not interested. Their spray tan machines are ok at best but it seems that the workers are lazy because on multiple occasions when I have gone in there the solution levels were low and my spray barely showed. I have given this place more than enough chances--mostly just because of the location and Groupon deals, but it is definitely not worth it. They have a low rating on here for a reason! I will not be back and make sure to tell all my friends and clients! read more

I only signed up for one month, felt really welcome my first time in there when I signed up. I'm not familiar with tanning beds, I just wanted color for a wedding that was coming up. Every time I went in there after my first time, the girls who worked there were rude to me. And made me feel dumb when I wasn't sure which bed to use. I stuck it out for the month only because it cost me $90. Other than the highschool-like atmosphere I got from the girls working there, their beds were great, and the rooms were clean, I accomplished what I went there to do but will not be back. read more
