Tasty ice cream and milk shakes! Very cute and clean establishment in the food lion shopping plaza. Ordered one scoop of cookies and cream and my bf ordered one scoop of moose tracks. Bottom Line: Snowballs and various other cold desserts served by friendly staff. At Island Snowball snowballs are just the tip of the ice. This little shop located in the Nags Head Mall at MP 14.5 also offers ice cream, iced coffees, smoothies, brownie sundaes, banana splits and other cold sweet treats. As far as their signature item they have many flavors of snowballs and a long list of flavor combinations. Unless I study the menu before visiting I tend to default to a pina colada snowball topped with marshmallow. I have tried anything here other than the snowballs. There is some seating out front which is convenient. Service is always friendly. read more

I love snowballs. They are NOT icees, not snow cones and not Italian ices. The ice is fine and shaved to order, then flavored with your choice. Island was very friendly and the ice was good. I found the flavor a bit sweeter than necessary but had it "stuffed" with vanilla soft serve and that made it just fine. Better than Booty Treats snowball, imho. About 3.5 stars read more

Great little shop in a less than great strip. They had so many flavors and combos to choose from - you could get snow cones, ice cream, or combine the two! There were also 6 specialties like Brownie, Float, Cookie, and Banana Split things. It was ground ice, not shaved, but the people were kind and the portions large. I got a stuffed Pokémon (strawberry & wedding cake over cookie dough ice cream) and I got him a Tiger's Blood over cookies n cream ice cream. I also got color-change reusable cups for next time because I knew we'd be back. Sitting out on their picnic tables we just had a view of the parking lots and traffic. It was very convenient to ride our bikes too though. read more

They have ice cream but the worker has no idea what kind of ice cream they have. I believe it is Hershey's because of Moose Tracks. My kids liked their Snoballs and ice cream but the wife and I would pass. I know she was young but she just seemed clueless. We started our order and I had to give her the heads up to start getting the kids choice while I decided what to order. She acted like she didnt want to serve us. They do have a lot of choices and for $2.25, it is a good deal for the kids. Service was a big downer. read more

The flavor list wasn't that long and it wasn't very creamy. The ice cream scoop was kind of sugary watery.

Highly recommend this place. It is very clean & has a ton of different options for flavors & toppings. I brought my 4 year old here who really enjoyed the different character flavors, she got Barbie. Stopped here to get a stuffed snow cone- ice cream in a snow cone. This place has tons of snow cone flavors, everything from grape to birthday cake. A small snow cone costs $2.75, and it's $1.50 extra to get it "stuffed." The small was actually quite large in my opinion. Overall, it was okay. I've had better. The ice cream portion wasn't that tasty, and I wondered how long it had been sitting in the freezer due to my visit being in the off season. read more

Choose from their menu or create your own. You can also add ice-cream to your snowball or order ice-cream separately. Fun cold treats for a good price. Added bonus, their cold treats taste pretty good! The shop is small but very bright and colorful. We stopped in for cool treat on a hot day. The sales clerk was very friendly and helpful. I had a wedding cake snowball with Hawaiian cream, and hubs had a vanilla ice cream stuffed coconut snowball. It hit the spot! I prefer the snowballs that have the shaved ice that is almost creamy in texture, but there was nothing wrong with the larger pieces of shaved ice served here.
