No trip to Poughkeepsie is complete without a stop here, in fact, I head here before I go to my hotel. Funny story is I read a review about the staff being rude and there's a running joke about the ruder the staff at a Jamaican restaurant, the better the food. Lol. The staff were not at all rude, but the food has been amazing every time! I center had their jerk chicken, fried chicken, oxtails, curried goat, curried chicken, spicy shrimp, rice and peas, all varieties of patties and they're a hot every time. Been coming here for a year and the flavor and portions that remained consistently good! It's not a sit and dine location, also you either park on the street or in the lot of the grocery store next door. Ps. If you want patties, go early or call ahead first. I never had an issue with customer service or their food, they are very welcoming. They are very nice and helpful which is a blessing bc majority of Jamaican restaurants are extremely rude. Their prices are great and their portions. I been going here for over a year. The reason I gave 4 stars is because it says it closes at 830 and sometimes 930 however if I go anywhere from 5p- 7p, most of the food is gone and they're not making more. read more

A few weeks ago I ordered fried chicken and it was straight up RAW. I could still taste the rawness and I could tell they did not or do not clean the chicken PROPERLY before seasoning and frying. I decided after that to give them a break. I went back last night to purchase food for the 1st time in a few weeks. I bought cow foot, and man, this time, the food again the meat I should say was straight up RAW.. NOT COOKED PROPERLY.. NEEDLESS TO SAY IT GOT ME SICK!! NEVER AGAIN. Best food, oxtails, fried chicken. I thought they closed only to find them again. It's the only place I go.

One of the best carribean stops in the Hudson Valley. All of the food is seasoned FULLY. No short cuts taken at all. You can swing through for a quick bite or take it to go. Soup orders are very large, with shrimp soup kicking off the weekend every weekend. I strongly suggest asking for "gravy" on your fried chicken, it will change your life. read more

Dont waste you time or money! I ordered breakfast from here because i was feeling too lazy to drive to the west indies. OMG! Porridge was awful and i bought two large. Wasted $16. Ackee and saltfish was literally swimming in oil. This is not my first bad experience but it will definitely be my last. Prices are ridiculous. Especially when the food is unedible. I gave the food to my dog. He ate every bite, but then my dog eats poop. Porridge was poured out $29 down the drain. Save yourself the trouble and keep driving by this place. This place is off the grid of the normal beaten track for food. The fresh juice is delicious. Good place to get peanut punch, seamoss, carrot juice and of course. .. porridge. The oxtail is nice and the food is authentic and like cook in your own yard. Will definitely be back. The young man at the counter was kind and courteous when I was short some cents on cash (forgot my wallet at home), and still give me a bligh.
