Island Home Care's only care is about money. They don't care about customers, offering instead poor administration, disrespect, and a refusal to honour their business commitments. There are good cleaning companies in Victoria. Island Home Care is not one of them. . Please see the owner\s comment. She revoked the vouchers I'd purchased a year earlier,, based on a heresay report of my conversation with her assistant, and refused to respond to my requests for a refund. If you were considering purchasing this groupon and trying out this cleaning company I say DON'T! It is not worth the savings with the headache and most awful customer service I've experienced. This is the most regrettable purchased I have ever made. And more so that I even gave this company a chance after having to call them several times over more than a month to finally get a response; although their answering service said they would return your call within 24 hours. On the day I finally gave up trying to contact them to book an appointment and sent Groupon requesting a refund, I get a call from the owner Elise Butterfield. Her reason for the extremely late response was that she had the flu...ok, so I told Groupon I'll give Island Executive Cleaning a chance and cancelled my request for a refund. BIGGEST mistake ever! Two cleaners came to my house. Left my house clean and smelling nice. Later the next day I noticed that the cleaner who had cleaned my kitchen had rubbed off 90% of the labels on my stove! I sent Elise an email with pictures of the damages and asked to be compensated for the damages. She wrote back, cc'd the cleaners to ask them what happened. A week later I followed up with additional information about how much it would cost to repair the damage. Elise responded with a note saying she was waiting to hear back from her insurance agent (2 days after my follow-up email). She said the agent would be back in 5 days. So on the 12th day, I still had not heard back from her I wrote yet another email. NO RESPONSE. After another 11 days with no response from Elise, I yet wrote another email with information of where she could order the replacement for me if she didn't trust that I would spend the money on the replacement myself. This last email was sent Dec.20, 2019. I said I'll wait 2 weeks before I leave a negative comment about the company and file a complaint. NO RESPONSE. I have an expensive stove. The cost for repair is over $200 so I wasn't about to let this go. What an AWFUL AWFUL company! read more

Originally posted July 2015 - as it seems as though the review has dropped off somehow ?? so I am reposting so people are aware if they hire this company! If I could give ZERO starts, I certainly would! We hired this company to do our house cleaning once every two weeks. We live in a new home, and we are very clean people but we work a lot, and so we wanted cleaners to come in and take care of the nitty gritty things like dusting, floors, etc every few weeks. The owner stated that she would send two gals the first cleaning "to get it up to their standards", which made me laugh because I know we always keep a tidy house, but I understood what they wanted to do. I was home the first time the two gals came and so I showed them around. I talked to them specifically about our wood floors and told them what a pain they can be to clean without leaving streaks and footprints everywhere, just so they were aware they needed to pay attention to them. They left my home two hours later and the first thing I checked was the floors .... there were streaks and their own footprints all over the place!!! Our home is very bright with lots of windows and it is very hard to miss something like this. The next thing I noticed were our glass coffee tables x2, as they were wiped on the top but not underneath, so there was fingerprints and smudges everywhere. I was not impressed. This was their idea of "their standards"?? Anyhow I cleaned the floors again right after they left, but not before taking pics of everything and making sure they were sent off to the owner, who apparently was horrified and assured us this was not their usual level of work, and said they would make it right. She also told us that she was after our commercial contract at our work, so she wanted to impress us! Hey, people are entitled to having off days so I was happy to have them back in, and figured there would be no more issues. They returned the next time and when I came home all I could see were streaks on the floors again. I walked into the powder room to wash my hands and happened to run my hand along the counter top and ended up with a layer of dust on me. We emailed the owner Elise and asked her to get in touch with us, without providing any details other than to share with her we were not happy again. We left everything in the house as-is thinking that she would come by asap and see for herself, ask for pics, or something! Instead she sent us an email the next day stating she couldn't make us happy so they were withdrawing their services! I couldn't believe it! She made no effort to communicate with us to even find out what our issue was, she left us with a dirty home x2 and had the nerve to charge us full price for both cleanings and then blew us off with a dismissive email. We knew that we had no desire to do business with this company any longer, but I wanted to speak to her directly and share with her that I was not happy with the way we were treated. I left two voicemail messages a few days apart asking her to contact me. Nothing. I followed up several days later with an email, to which she eventually replied that she was away and I could contact her second-in-charge if I needed immediate assistance. It was not anything immediate, so I waited ..... and waited ... and waited ....and then I decided to see exactly how long it would take her to get back to me. TWO MONTHS LATER I was the one that took the next step by sending her a "shame on you" email for not following up with an unhappy customer. She emailed back stating she had been out of town for her fathers funeral back in February and wasn't sure what I wanted since none of her clients had my name!! OMG. How about picking up the phone and talking to me to find out what my issue was and why I am emailing her, regardless of whether or not she has a client with my name. I emailed her back right away and told her who I was .... that was now a week ago. No response. Nothing. Very sad to hear why she was out of town back in February when I first tried to make contact ... but it's now May! How about following up once you are back at work? And also to not contact me again last week because she doesn't know who I am? And then when I tell her she avoids me again? Wow. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! Also look them on BBB. This review might make us sound like we have high expectations, but I can assure you that we don't. Even if we did, the fact that she cannot bother to follow up repeatedly to phone and email requests speaks volumes about her and her company. All it would have taken was for her to call me back as I requested and listen to my concerns. We wouldn't have hired her back, but I probably wouldn't be on here giving such a poor review. We have since found a lovely lady that cleans our floors in a very simple fashion and never leaves streaks or footprints, or dust, and even seems to know that you must clean the top AND the underneath of a glass coffee table for it to be fully clean :) read more
