I'm a property owner and I'm having the same experience as Vince B. I haven't been paid for my February rental. I've made multiple attempts via phone calls and emails to get paid and I got the run around. Then a few days later there was a blanket email sent stating that the owner of the company had a medical emergency and was unable to answer calls or emails at this time. That was two weeks ago. Last week I stopped by at the office during business hours to see what was going on and how the owner was feeling - the office doors were locked and lights were out. I'm not feeling good about getting paid. @Vince B - I learned that there is a Florida Real Estate Recovery fund set up for property owners who haven't been paid. Check with a FL attorney to get the details of how to go about filing a claim and collecting your losses from this fund. read more

Do not rent from this company. They owe us money from our last rental in February and have not paid. They are a terrible company and I am pretty sure they are going out of business. You will get dumped with your rental and if they are your rental company then good luck getting your money. I am sure they will take a boat load of money from their customers and not pay them and then take 3-4 months off and open a new company under a different name and run the same scam. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!! For the record, David Vannavong is part of the scam at Island Escapes. Horrible customer service. Very disappointed. Same day arriving two-three hours before "check-in" time we got a phone call saying the house was not clean yet and we could get dinner expense reimbursed if we provided copy of receipt due to their delay. - After more than 2 months, still waiting for the reimbursement check. - More than 5 attempts to follow up, and only excuses. - Please do not use/rent vacation homes with this company. - Highly irresponsible and not worth your trust. read more

We had a 32 day rental through Island Escapes at Anglers Cove F-405. We contacted Island Escapes immediately and talked to Claire. We voiced our concerns and sent pictures. The bedroom / walk through closet CARPET was FILTHY and stained and a piece of floor trim was loose too. Our feet and socks turned black walking around. The thermostat had dead batteries so we couldn't turn on the AC the first night as well. The smaller issues were that we felt the towels and condo items definitely needed to be replaced , lots of additional stains ...but the carpet was awful. My wife was supposed to stay the entire time as I had to travel for work. (ER doc) She did not stay as the condo was too disgusting. We were only there for 1/2 our booked nights. Our loss ! We never heard ANYTHING back from Claire even though she sent out an email to her Island Escapes team as we talked February 2nd . We wrote a long letter when we turned in keys a week ago and still no follow up. We would never recommend Anglers Cove F405 or Island Escapes. I don't know if owners or rental agencies or cleaning services are responsible , but this rental was less than 1 star. Stay was February into March 2022 When we turned in our keys at 9:40 AM on a Saturday to the office, the lights were on but the door was locked and nobody responded to our knock ? This management company salvaged our vacation at a rental that had been neglected and in need of TLC. Sarah and Mark were capable, prompt and went beyond my expectations. When I let Sarah know that the pool cushions were mildewed and dirty, she ordered new ones that arrived the next day! Guests had complained of dirty carpet on the stairs and it was quickly addressed. The cleaning staff could not have left the house more pristine. read more

I rented a condo in the gated Cape Marco - The Merida Unit 1105. The unit was filthy. The comforter had blood on it, dirty dishes in the cupboard and on the counter, linens were soiled, couch was dirty. I spent three full days cleaning the unit from top to bottom. Had to wash all linens from 4 beds-including the comforters, sheets and pillow shams. Washed all towels, all dishes, all glasses, vacuumed, tables were all dirty. Contacted the management company and was told they didn't oversee this unit for cleaning. They wanted to give me $300 for my time and silence which I found insulting! The owner was not apologetic at all and would not compensate me for my time. I had to purchase: hair dryer, towels, beach towels, beach chairs, hangers, and detergent/cleaning supplies to make the place livable. Very disappointed. read more

With Covid19, many say this will be the great equalizer, for companies, employees, suppliers and customers. Those who treat people well (i.e. employees, customers) will survive and those who don't will be exposed. We rented a house that we can not use due to travel bands, high risk family members and everything being shut down across the nation. Yet this company, along with the individual property owner refuses to refund the down payment. They suggest future rental but can't guarantee that's avail as this property is going on the market to be sold. Take you business and hard earned vacation money elsewhere. Home in Balsam Ct. I stayed in this home with my husband and kids this past July and we enjoyed our stay very much. The house is beautiful inside and outside. We loved the travertine tiles throughout the entire house and the furniture was very modern. All the rooms were spacious especially the master bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen is equipped with all you may need to cook any meal. The entire house was extremely clean very well kept. Abigail in Island Escapes was wonderful and she was very helpful. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOU WANT TO RELAX AND ENJOY YOUR STAY. Recently stayed at 516 Spinnaker Dr, Marco Island Blvd with a group of 10. The house overall is gorgeous. It was the completely unimaginably rude, disrespectful, unbelievable treatment that we got from the company that really pissed me off. We paid ALOT of money to stay in this house. Mid week we get a call, that we were CAUGHT ON CAMERA smoking outside. Yes.. smoking outside is not a crime. The fact that we were BEING WATCHED is creepy and unacceptable. Nowhere did we sign any waiver that we are allowed to be taped. THEN we get threatened to be evicted. We had my 75 and 76 great aunt and uncle staying with us. Yes, there were some young kids, but we were in no way violating any rules or being rowdy. This isn't even legal to be spying on us! I understand outdoor cameras to protect yourself, but being taped and watched is a completely different level. To top this lovely experience with the company off, a lady comes to do the final walk through at 830AM the day we were leaving. NOTE: NOT THE SAME LADY THAT DID THE INITIAL WALK THROUGH. She's going around, touching every corner of furniture to see if it was marked. Excuse me, but we were not the first people to stay in this house. We left the damn thing cleaner than when we got there. I kid you not, she was going to ding us because there was a water cup mark on the ping pong board. Un-f*cking-believable. If you're so concerned about every tiny little mark in this place, you should not be renting it out. Never ever again will I use this rental company. Just be warned, if you want to relax and have fun and enjoy the place you pay a lot of money to get away in, this is not the company to do it from. read more

HORRIBLE VACATION PROPERTY MANAGERS. Rented a condo at GreenLinks/Lely Resort in Naples, FL., for a month. Took over 4 hours to find someone who could give us the key on a Saturday (because they were closed). Had to dry the bedsheets, wash and dry the filthy blanket, and make our own bed. Had to make an emergency shopping run as there was no toilet paper, kleenex, paper towels in the condo. You gotta love black mold on the shower mats and shower walls. Prepaid for housekeeping twice at $140/visit and no one ever showed up, so we had to browbeat some never-do-well for a refund. Sliding glass door won't lock. And the carpet in the living area is spotted badly in several places. Their association with Redawning property management appears to be unsupervised, and incompetent. You'd do well to find another property manager/vacation quarters companies. I certainly expected more for almost $4,000 per week for a two bedroom condo. read more

A group of 10 of us rented a house in Marco Island this Fall when we were down for a wedding. Overall the house was pretty nice although our pool wouldn't heat up and in the information packet, they said we couldn't touch the pool settings. Which begs the question, what's the point of renting a house with a pool? Our experience was fine until after we left. Since we had 10 people there for 6 days, we used a considerable amount of towels. We attempted to do a couple loads of towels but unfortunately the dryer was broken. After leaving the house in good condition with the exception of the dirty towels, they still hit us with a cleaning charge for "excessive laundry". This was the first thing we were nickel and dimed on which was enough to get frustrated but I'm guessing these sleazy type of rental companies try to hit their guests with everything they can to make an extra buck. Separate from the towels, they also made a claim that we broke one of the towel bars. I immediately checked with our whole group and no one admitted to breaking a towel bar and trying to fix it. I asked for them to send us pictures and we saw that whoever broke the towel bar, patched up the wall and painted over. They claimed that we not only patched the drywall up and fixed the towel bar, but also painted over to cover up what happened. This was pretty ridiculous as we were only there for a few days and no one in our group had the acumen to take on a project like that nor cared to in their short stay in Florida. We refuted this charge and they eventually left it alone. Which brings me to ask the question, do they do this to all guests and hope others just pay up? Anyways, I hate to give one star but the fact that we were nickel and dimed and blamed for something we clearly didn't do, I have to drop to one star. Also from a customer support perspective, the communication was less than stellar in many aspects. I wouldn't say to not rent from these people, but make sure you cover all your bases and expect to get nickel and dimed at the end. P.S. We just returned from Marco Island, where we rented a house from Island Escapes. During our 10 day stay, we had a two occasions to call them (nothing major). They were always courteous and very responsive. Prior to the rental, our questions about the property were answered thoroughly and truthfully. In short, I hope to rent from these folks again, and would not hesitate to suggest them to anyone. read more

We rented property for our daughter's wedding. Property was cancelled because owners were taking the property off the market. This happened 90 days before the event. We had paid for the property in full. I was told by Island Escape the this can happen at any time, there there is no guarantee with their rentals. Island Escapes compensation is to offer a "comparable property." However, the property they offered was in a location that would be very inconvenient for the purposes we needed the property. We are very disappointed and left scrambling. That is why we would not use the service again. read more

My family and I rented one of their properties located in Marco Island June 19th 2021-June 28th 2021 through VRBO. From the moment we arrived at the property, the environment was very hostile. The neighbors of the host were watching our every move the entire time. They called the cops several times due to having an event, however once the cops arrived they concluded that no event was taking place at the property and we were simply in the back yard cooking while the kids were enjoying the pool. After the 3rd day into our stay, the host appeared and decided to cancel our reservation and had given us a 4 hour window to leave the property. When asked for an explanation, the host stated we broke house rules: hosting events (no evidence found) and bringing a pet (please view attachment stating pets were allowed). As we were trying to figure out why we were getting kicked out, the host used derogatory language and was overall verbally abusive with absolutely no reason. The reason for this complaint is simply to ensure that this does not happen to anyone else moving forward as this was a horrible experience for my family and having to figure out a place to sleep that night was not easy. To be compliant with the rules and still get treated the way we did was completely unacceptable in which Island Escape should be held accountable for what transpired. read more

We rented from Island Escapes last February...a disaster! The house was not as advertised,kitchen mouse infested and full of mouse poop! There was food left in tote bags in the laundry room, the pool leaked..wow. The pool area was fine except for having frequent visits to try and repair the leak. One bedroom was actually off the living room with bifold doors...like sleeping in the main room,zero privacy. The house looked like someone had left it quite a while ago and decided to rent,obviously,no one from Island escapes had thoroughly checked the property! Never again. We have used this company 3×. 1st time they sent us to a house that was decrepit and infested with ants, second time they sent an email to me 2 weeks before we arrived to tell us that the house has been sold and that they were just going to refund us with no alternative options for us. After numerous calls and emails they finally answer the phone. After explaining to her that we had purchased tickets to fly to the island and that we had no options of staying anywhere else seeing it was spring break and how unprofessional it was of them to leave us hanging out to dry. The owner of island escapes changed the rental price on us when we arrived. Tried to convince me that I didn't understand. But while we were in her office checking in she never came out of the back once she was hiding at a desk behind their wall and never came out to greet us or to look us in the eye. She knew she was lying and that we would call her out on it. She could have at least came out and introduced herself to us. They then rented a home to us that was flee infested! My entire family came home still itching. Deceitful, unprofessional, terrible service. They don't answer their phones or emails and I would NEVER use them again. I would NEVER recommend this agency to anyone. Beware!!! read more
