Johnny is a great guy. These guys are genuine and helpful. Always willing to answer questions and I always have a lot. In a lot of tourist areas I find the tackle shops are condescending, and just try and sell you a bunch of junk and get you out the door. These guys have never been like that. Also if you purchase a rod they will pack and ship it back to you at the end of your trip. Next time you come down you can call them and ship down your rods UPS to them and pick them up at the shop. Talk about great service! I have been coming down to Anna Maria each year for five years and my appreciation for this place continues to grow. Best tackle shop around and one of the better ones I have come across in any vacation spot I have traveled to. read more

Went to this store three times this week and in each case the staff seemed to be hating life and wished no one would bother them or purchase anything in the store. Maybe the most unhappy people I have ever seen at a bait shop. There are better options on the island. read more

They had some good stuff but it was a more expensive but it is on an island, the guy there was decent he was crabby when I went to take something out when I changed my mind. Best selection of baits on the island but more pricey. read more

Extremely rude person that acts like you are stealing and incredibly disrespectful and irritable person just for bringing a bait bucket in the shop. I was with my son and was scolded for not reading a sign on the door to leave a bait bucket outside. Refused service as they are rude unprofessional people. Will not ever return worst experience ever and embarrassment for my son to see a man treat a woman that way. read more

Store had a variety of quality salt water fishing equipment. Convenient location and staff were friendly. They have Pompano rigs, which was a plus! read more

This store is the worst. Take your money elsewhere because these people absolutely don't care. They will sell you broken reels and there is no return policy!!! Would give them a zero if I could! read more

Great selection inshore/ offshore. Live bait and local marina next door . Check with bait guy for fishing tips

Read many mixed reviews...Wes took very good care of me today. Tuned-up an old rod and sold me another one for some canal, back-water fishing. No problem at all and the timing/pricing was very reasonable. Thanks, Wes! read more

Got jacked off a charter 30 min before. After scrambling to find another charter we were told by numerous people they are infamous for canceling. No real remorse or help in getting us on another charter. I will definitley NOT be using them next time around. read more

If I could give them a zero, I would! We bought an under water fishing light here that wouldn't work. We tried everything possible. We tried to take it back about 10 minutes after we bought it since we couldn't get it to work and they were closed. 4 cars were still out front but no one came to the door when we knocked! We tried to put it in the water and make it work but it didn't. So, we went to return it yesterday (less than 24 hrs after we bought it) or at least exchange it for a light that did work and they were complete jerks about it! They told us it was operator error and they spent 15 minutes trying to fix it and they couldn't even get it to work!! Needless to say, don't buy A SINGLE THING HERE because they have a no return policy and they won't even get you a product that works!! Terrible customer service. I have no clue how they're still in business!! read more

The staff here is amazing! Beyond thankful that they are experienced fisherman that know what they're doing. One of the staff members went beyond what he could to help me while staying within a price range and he did great! Very thankful for the service here and I will now get all of my tackle and bait from them. read more

I wondered in here looking for renting a fishing pole to use while on vacation. They informed me that they didn't rent any gear but had some affordable poles that I could ship home when done. So they hooked me up (pun intended) with two poles and rigged them for pier fishing. I then inquired about a charter which I took with my wife and two grandsons (ages 13 & 9) on the next day. Everyone at this place was friendly, knowledgeable, and very eager to help us and answer any questions. We met the next morning and again everyone was great. They put us with Captain Dan for a half day trip. I've gotta say Dan was awesome! He not only got us on the fish he was very kind and patient with us and especially the grandsons who thought he was great. We caught Mangrove Snapper, tons of Snook, sea trout, catfish, and Ladyfish. It was a ton of fun and it was the highlight of our trip. The boat used was neat, clean, quiet, and ran well. This is the place if you want to be treated right. read more

Always there with great advice and even willing to help teach people some of the more basic nuances of fishing!

Don't buy your bait here. They are selling small ... I mean VERY SMALL...live shrimp. About are so lethargic that they are worthless; are so small that they are worthless; and are just SMALL. Instead, go to either the Shell gas station (Manatee and 59th) or the Chevron gas station (Manatee near 72nd). You'll thank me. read more

WARNING - NOT A "DISCOUNT MARINE SUPPLY" BY ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM. WAS RUDE AND HUNG UP ON ME. Charged me $62 for a rule tournament series (mfg # 46DR) 800gph cartridge only - retails everywhere else for $39.99 or less. Called him to make sure he didn't charge me too much and was told by "John" he hears that a lot. Started going on and on about how his pricing is different, so he has to charge more and hung up on me. HELLO - IT SAYS DISCOUNT ON THE SIGN ABOVE THE DOOR AS YOU WALK IN????? HOW IS THAT DISCOUNT. read more
