this place is dope (which means good). to the young woman at the front desk, your name escapes us…read morebut you were as hilarious as helpful as was everyone we encountered at Cook's. we rented a couple of e-bikes which stand for electric or maybe electronic (both can be true) and got to see much more of the island than if we had just walked around. *side note - to the cobblestone streets of the downtown Nantucket area. my tender backside (from the opening at the end of the alimentary canal to just past the prostrate) gives you 1 star. while you are charming, riding a bike over you is like pedaling over a dried-up river bed. But that's my fault. I veered from the map and after years of therapy am ready to take responsibility for my own actions. I am growing. we checked out some beaches...Madaket where we hit up MIllies Market, getting a couple of waters as my tummy was still full from breakfast. Then made our way to Cisco where on the way back happened upon 167 RAW. had the best fish tacos ever. the ceviche was also top notch as was the 167 lager. A lady with a dog named Linda (might be Lisa) told us to go to Island KItchen the next morning for breakfast which we did. solid recommendation. 167raw.com/nantucket/ we saw a Brant Point Lighthouse. anybody see that movie The Lighthouse? heard they eat the same plate of slop every night. anyways the brant point lighthouse has 4.7 stars which I'm not sure how you review a lighthouse but so be it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brant_Point_Light, we used them to ride to dinner one night at Proprietors where everything on the menu is amazing and the inside of the restaurant is really cool. riding at night is tricky so bring a torch. www.proprietorsnantucket.com/ Lastly, we stopped by the Whalers museum before returning the bikes and flying out. I purchased a Bo'sun Whistle which should be called a sea flute, either way, my family hates it. my point is we were able to get out and explore this beautiful island alongside old yet still active people not dragging rolling bags off a ferry over the rolling brick sidewalks of Nantucket. they are beautiful but a death sentence to anyone with weak ankles. how were we able to do all of this you ask? the good people of Cook's swapped out our batteries when they were getting low. use this business if you can. we got a shirt and hat also.

I don't get the poor reviews. We were able to rent cruisers no problem. And drop off was quick and…read moreeasy. I don't know what else you need.

E-Ventures - Nantucket Island

There once was a man from Nantucket…read more.. We're on our Yacht Club Cruise through Cape Cod. Our first night event for the group and folks are all telling how we need to go biking across the island. We quickly realize that our group of 21 boats and 100 club members, all taking about biking, could lead to a shortage. I pull up Yelp and look for e-bikes in Nantucket. E-Ventures USA comes up to the top of the list. I link to their website to check their inventory. I'm able to book on-line. And they're almost sold out. I grab 3 big bikes and then 3 smaller. When I go to check out I screwed up and had to start over. When I did, only 3 bikes were available. We had 6 in our party. I grabbed the 3. And wrote an email about our need for 3 more. I figured when i screwed up, I offset their inventory and the other three were still available. Sure enough when I checked in in the AM, I was put through to Tamara. First, it was 15 min before the store opened and second Tamara had already ready my email. It's August in Nantucket. The place is over flowing with tourists and locals. Tamara was super chill with it. She had already grabbed the extra 3 bikes and put them aside for us. Scott is going to bring the bikes to us. We identify that we're staying in a yacht in the marina basin and that we could meet him at the Harbor Master office. Scott arrives. He can only transport 4 at a time so he runs back to grab the others. I'm on mainland and radio to the boat to give everyone the 20 min notice. Scott arrives. He unloads the bikes himself. We offer to help but he has a system so we watch. Bikes are super clean. Batteries are fully charged. Scott runs us through the bikes then waits to make sure we all test our bikes and that everything worked right. We head out. It's about 7 miles to Sconset beach. It's an easy ride out with a rolling trail. The beach is clean amd water is flat. We eat lunch amd hit the road back. We want to make it to Cisco winery amd brew pub. Cisco is a fun enclave with a winery and a brew pub. They have food and other goodies AND a fresh bar with top shelf selections. We hustle home as we have a cocktail party and dinner and we have to return the bikes. THEN I remember Scott said he would meet us "anywhere" to pick up the bikes. I text and ask if he can meet us at our restaurant at 7:15. Scott doesn't hesitate. We arrive. He is genuinely excited for us and how much fun we had. We offer a tip and he won't accept! Even after the second attempt. If you're in Nantucket I highly recommend E-Venture USA. They have great equipment. Provide exceptional service and genuinely appreciate that we're here to have fun and explore. 5-star

More like 'Wheels of Incompetence'. Avoid like the plague...a plague of ineptitude…read more I called 'Wheels of Idiocy' in March to reserve eBikes for July 4th week. They assured me that my reservation was taken and I would have the bikes I need for our family vacation. They took my credit card and I thought I was good to go. I called again 1 month later to double confirm. They again assured me that the reservation was intact. Finally, a week before my trip, I called again to provide more details about our heights and to again confirm that they would deliver. Again, they assured me everything was good to go. Then, silence. Silence on the delivery day. Silence the day after. Silence again the following day. Didn't return my phone calls or pick up their phone for days during the height fo the season. Finally, I went down to the store to find out what's going on. "Sorry, our bad. We got busy. No more bikes." Thanks for leaving me in a jam on the busiest week of the year. Thanks for not having the courtesy to call and let me know you didn't have any bikes left. Thanks for not picking up your phone for 2 days. Thanks for not having the wherewithal to check your voicemail. Thanks for making me spend my vacation chasing after you instead of enjoying myself. Thanks for offering no help in securing another bike. Don't trust these guys with anything. Go with their direct competitor Young's across the street. They were awesome and couldn't believe what 'Wheels of Ghosting Customers' had done.
