Tony was great! We were interested in 4 regular bikes, but I've always been interested in trying an electric bike. Apparently, Tony sensed this because he negotiated an amazing deal for me. We rented two electric and two regular pedal bikes -- seamless rental process, good price, great service. They even held our bikes in the shop until we were done eating breakfast nearby. When we returned to retrieve the bikes, Tony made sure we were all set up -- adjusting the seats for each of us, explaining the electric bike controls, and providing a basket and a saddle bag for us to carry our bags. Overall great experience -- we explored the east half of the island, riding to Edgartown and then south to the beach -- the lock was helpful for the beach time, and restaurant visits. Lots of other bike rental places --DO NOT CHOSE THIS BIKE RENTAL PLACE. They did a total bait and switch bike rental on us. We reserved and rented through the national Pedago Bike website https://pedegoelectricbikes.com/dealers/oak-bluffs/ and selected the type of ebikes that we wanted to rent for distance and comfort. Entered our height and weight so we would have the best fit for a full day of biking. On arrival, we were told that they didn't have any "decent Pedego" bikes available and the bikes that they were giving us were better. The website even stated the bikes were NEW....what a joke! The bait and switch bikes were hardly new and the screens on the bike was crushed and you couldn't even read what the controls were and we mentioned that the screen was crushed on both bikes as we didn't want to me charged for damage. The guy said... "don't worry...we know they are all cracked". What in the heck kind of business is this... The seats were the most ridiculous uncomfortable seat that I have ever sat on. We are experienced ebikers as well as experienced distance road bikers so I am not exaggerating when I say the bikes were uncomfortable. We had to make all of our own adjustments on the bikes such as the seats, handle bars etc so we could at least ride a bit. The guy that was working was completely uninterested in helping any customer--almost like we were a bother to him. We actually ended our bike ride short and returned the bikes after only 20 miles because they were so uncomfortable. Kingsbury Enterprises Inc should be embarrassed that they are a bait and switch company! I will be emailing Pedago to ask them to remove you from their website/authorized dealer. Pedago is a great company and it's a sad state of affairs that Kingsbury Enterprises misrepresents them. read more

Severely understaffed. We had to wait in line for 1/2 hour, even though we had a reservation. We finally go through the line and had to wait again for the eBike. We were then told there were no eBikes left and we had to wait for one to be delivered. Only when I complained did they "find" okay he bike we had reserved. There are plenty of better places on the island to rent bikes. No reason to waste your time here. The first bike they gave us got a flat tire within 10 minutes of riding it. We had to go back and get another. The next bike we got had a broken chain, so we had to keep stopping to fix the chain while we road around the island. At times, we were fixing the chain on the side of a busy road. On top of everything, the guys working there seemed uninterested and bothered when we needed help with our broken bikes. With so many other bike rental options, this should be your last resort. read more

Don't rent the bikes in this store. Bikes gave us big problems. one tire was out. Another bike tore our clothing because the basket wasn't secure and touched the tire and the clothes were in the basket and it ripped. But the biggest problem was one of the workers named Collis. He was very rude and when we called him to tell them a bike had difficulties and ask for an replacement. He refused to send us a replacement and just asked us to set the brake off. I was not sure where is the brake and he screamed at me over the phone and didn't want to help. He also refused to send a replacement. I was riding my bike without brake all the time!!! I was so scared.... When we came back, we complained to him and he blamed us for not using the bikes properly. And he blamed us that we didn't call the store again so they couldn't send us a new bike. What was wrong with this guy. He had really bad attitude to customers. We rented several bikes while visiting Martha's Vineyard. Bikes were very good, but the service was very poor and it didn't seem like they were being well maintained. Not all of the batteries were fully charged when given to us, the pedals didn't work on one bike, and I couldn't shift gears on mine. Also concerning was the fact that NO HELMETS WERE SUPPLIED even though the contract stated that they must be worn at all times. And we had a bad experience returning the bikes. On an impromptu visit to MV, we wandered into a Budget rent a car storefront and ended up having an unexpected and epic eBike adventure. Our technician, Dave, gave us a stellar into into the technology and set us up for a relaxed and amazing day. eBikes have come a long way and MV has exclusive german engineered models that make the hybrid manual/battery assist experience totally seamless. It was almost like the VR version of riding a bike. All the air, sun, road, and immersion in the local scenery and none of the sore legs and sweat. We cruised from OB all the way through Edgartown on bike trails, took a six minute ferry ride and continued our ride out to the stunning and secluded east-end beaches of Chappy for an afternoon idle. I can not think of a better way to spend a day than on an MV eBike. Great service. Good rates. Great experience. read more

Do not pre-rent a bike online. There are plenty of places and bikes available once you arrive. In the event you are not able to ride that day you will not get any refund. I had a very unfortunate experience with Jordan. On the day of our visit my daughter was not able to ride the bike. I was told I would receive a $100 refund (of the $222 I paid) and this amount was refunded to my account. I am just now discovering that the refund was "over ruled" and was then taken out of my account without any notification. I've been speaking with a gentleman named Jordan who was not very helpful. When I asked for the name of the owner, Jordan stated my question was "inappropriate". I explained it was most likely public information and his final words to me were, "good luck finding out." In my opinion, very poor customer service. I'm sure the other bike rental agencies are friendlier and much more helpful. read more

I was really disappointed with their electric bike and their customer service. I got an ebike for the day, started at 9am and the battery was out at 1pm. 4 hours of bike for $70 is a rip off I think. I didn't even use the battery that much. The guys at the shop are not very friendly and super slow. If you can, check out another store there are plenty. read more

Better than a moped. I have been going to this bike shop since the day they opened and I can only say every time i return the bikes are nicer and the staff is friendlier. All the employees were knowledgable and quick to get us our bikes. They were also very helpful with giving directions so our group find our way around. The Ebikes are amazing and fairly priced compared to moped. However you are allowed to drive them in the bike path making your trip less stressful and safer than dealing with the buses and traffic on the road. I had the experience to try one of the new Jamis bikes and it was the smoothest ride since I can remember. Would highly recommend. This is the worse bike shop I ever experienced. We rented 3 bikes in this stores, but after giving our credit card for payment - the employee who was "helping" us told us they no longer have helmet for us. This was quite important for us as 2 of the bikers didn't feel very confident... while the bike were okay , the customer service was horrifying. At first we wanted to extend the rental from 1 to 2 days. To do so we call 2 twice at a given number, left a message, then text another message but without any success. We then returned the bike as we finally decided not to bike the next day. When we arrive - we were told they already charged us for the extra. The employee then starting yelling at me saying I didn't call them, meaning I was a liar. He had to show our call history to close on this and finally get a refund. From a bike perspective, they fail to provide helmet, bike were old and definitely not maintain to a high standard.... recommendation is to avoid this place as much as possible... read more

We were on the Vineyard with friends that all had bikes. Not being bike riders we were worried about getting across the island then cramping up and not making it back. We stopped by MV bikes and casually asked about the eBikes. Max did a great job explaining the bikes to us, and Jordan reassured us, that we would be fine with the eBikes. and would be able to ride the island with no problems. Wow, we loved them, even converted one of our friends who is now thinking of buying an eBike. When we returned the bikes, again Max was super polite and friendly. This was an awesome experience and I would never consider taking a car, moped or regular bike to MV ever. EBikes are the thing for me. I was told that they even sell them at the end of the season, I think I will be in the market for one! Well done Jordan and Max, I am a believer! read more

Never disappointed ! I have been going here for 2 years now and I am always happy with the service . I would like to start off with the customer service . It's amazing and Jordan knows what's going on around town , if you ask what's the word for the night! The E-bikes are awesome! They are heavy but easy to ride! You can get around with out even trying with these bikes.They even teach you before you go off on your adventure . The employees are extremely informative and nice . Highly recommend the warranty .DO NOT RIDE THE BIKES IN THE SAND , it's not made for that . Honestly I had a really great time ! Last year it was a different model of e-bikes and now they have even better ones! Awful experience at this shop. My mother, cousin, sister and I rented bikes here a few weeks ago. We had only been riding the bikes for 10 minutes when my mom got hit by a car! She didn't break anything, but she was badly bruised all along the left side of her body, including her face. The police officer recommended we ask the shop for a refund, since we had JUST set out on the trip. We went back about an hour later and asked. They gladly gave my mother a refund, but then went on to tell her that the rim of the bike had been damaged during the accident and as such, she owed them $70.00. I literally almost laughed - how can you make someone pay for damages that were incurred because a CAR hit them?! My mom refused to pay and the owner's tone of voice immediately changed as he went on to say that she had to because she had signed something saying she would cover the damages. Picture this scenario: 60 year old woman, bruised face, just hit by a car and this business owner is trying to get her to pay $70. He was super unprofessional, saying that the fact that the bike got damaged was "not his fault" etc...yeah, you're a business owner though, sometimes you have to take the hit dude. It was so pathetic. $70. He kept trying to tell my mom that she could have the driver's insurance reimburse her, but she's not going to go through that hassle for $70. The owner should have ate the cost - these things happen when you own a business. It would have been different if my mom was biking recklessly (a funny image) and damaged the bike but she was hit by a CAR and this dude was asking her to pay for the damages. It was so horrible. I will obviously never go back here, and I hope that others can be spared the experience as well. read more

Jordan set us up on an e bike, which was the perfect way to travel the island. The bikes will go about 20mph and the battery took us about 25-30 miles . We stopped back by the shop to get a recharge .. They did this while we grabbed lunch and they had them ready to go ! The service was excellent ! Loved the bikes ! A bit pricey including insurance but would do it again in a heart beat ! Total miles coveted in 1 day ... About 60! read more

Rented two ebikes Friday before the 4th. The guys working there were very friendly and helpful. They did an awesome job explaining how the electric bikes work and how to operate them. If you have never rented one of these you NEED to try it. basically it is a regular bike that you can adjust how much it will help you pedal from none at all to a quiet not too fast scooter. We went from Oak bluffs to South Beach to Edgartown and back to oak Bluffs the same day. Without this bike we would have been exhausted. The bikes themselves are brand new and easy to operate. They are a few steps off the ferry which is nice if you don't have a car. read more
