My heat repeatedly failed, resulting in multiple emergency service calls and charges. On several occasions, technicians temporarily got the system running, only for it to fail again shortly afterward. One night, after repeated calls and assurances that someone would respond, no technician ever showed up. On another occasion, I was told there were no other technicians available and there was apparently no meaningful emergency escalation process, despite freezing temperatures and no heat in my home.
One after-hours technician was also rude and unprofessional. Several days after completing repairs, he left a voicemail on my personal cell phone to "check in." I found that inappropriate and completely unnecessary.
After multiple service calls and charges, additional repairs were eventually identified. Despite that, when I turned my heat on for the first time this season on September 27, it still did not work.
I also received a $616 oil delivery that I did not request. I questioned the automatic-delivery designation on my account and repeatedly requested documentation showing when and how I supposedly authorized it, along with account notes, dispatch records, technician notes, and other supporting service records. Instead, I received invoices and an application and was ultimately told that everything requested had already been provided, despite the specific records I asked for not being provided.
What makes this particularly frustrating is seeing Dixon respond to negative reviews by pointing out that a customer's bill is unpaid. In my case, the balance is disputed and remains unpaid because I have repeatedly requested documentation supporting the charges and have not received it. The underlying heating issues have also not been satisfactorily resolved.
This has been far too much money, time, and frustration for something as basic as keeping my home heated. I will be taking my business elsewhere. If you're considering Dixon, I strongly recommend getting everything in writing and keeping detailed records of every service call, charge, and communication.
