Reading the reviews, it seems the Drs are very skilled and capable. Sadly my experience wasn't with them, but with someone I spoke with over the phone that I assume was the same person others have noted as being rude and unprofessional. I'd asked for a video consult due to COVID to generate a treatment plan prior to travel. What a surprise to find that she felt more then capable of telling me what I needed over the phone, never having seen my teeth (and not actually listening to what I described). She called me at random and demanded I go through her, assuring me she could tell me what I wanted to know. I listened to her adding extras on at the beginning: a bone graft here, a sinus lift there, four veneers, maybe six, although eight would really be ideal.... What a disappointment. BEWARE! BEWARE! FIRST, the attending dentist cemented a new crown on my tooth without inspecting it. It was chipped so another one had to be made at the lab, requiring me to spend the night or make another long trip to Mexico later. Netty, the wife of Dr. Iniguez, didn't offer an apology for my inconvenience, nor offer any kind of help even though I was completely unprepared to spend the night. She refused to offer even a small compensation for my additional expense and inconvenience. SECOND, the next day while waiting for them to fix the bad crown they installed, I witnessed Netty BULLY a soft-spoken elderly couple. Netty starts arguing with them in the lobby, then takes them in the back where I could hear her yelling at them. Their reply was inaudible. The husband had a heart attack the week before. Her lack of compassion was astonishing. After the couple left, Netty began talking smack about them to those of us in the lobby who were shocked by her unprofessional behavior. The staff is nice, but Netty will quickly turn on you if the office makes a mistake. THIRD, they tried to sell me on a bunch of dental work I don't need and they're more expensive than most dentists in Los Algodones. read more

They truly care about making you comfortable and don't try and upsell you treatments that won't work or cost more. I had visited Los Algondones, MX last year with my friend when he decided to get an dental implant. I have always wanted veneers because my bonded teeth would not retain the bond and kept on chipping. I then researched different dentists for this procedure and ended up choosing Dr. Iniguez. Their professional steps to achieve the end result was amazing. High quality equipment and their expertise knowledge was so impressive. I chose his because of the practices ratings. The equipment is very modern. The attention to detail is excellent. One is kept informed of the progress and every aspect of the work. The focus is on the patient and not on the 16th hole at the golf course! The prices are slightly higher that the competition but the end result are magnificent. I saw Dr. Iniguez in spring/summer 2019 for basically a full mouth restoration (a mix of crowns and veneers on all my teeth). At first it seemed like he had done a decent job for the money ($14,000), but a few months later I developed severe, chronic TMJ pain that I learned was caused by my bite being thrown off during the reconstruction--my new teeth are not even and they don't line up properly when I close my mouth, which has had disastrous effects. I've had to spend thousands on a custom orthotic that I will need to wear long-term (likely forever) to avoid future TMJ flare-ups. (And I know this is true, because I lost my first orthotic after using it for a year, and after two months without it, the TMJ pain returned with a vengeance and I had to have a new one made.) A TMJ specialist told me that the only other way to fix the issue besides an orthotic would be to have most if not all of the crowns from Dr. Iniguez redone so that my bite is even and I can close my mouth properly again. I have also been told by two dentists that TMJ issues notwithstanding, several of the crowns and veneers placed by Dr. Iniguez are problematic for other reasons and will need to be replaced because they aren't seated properly, are irritating my gums around the margins, have large spaces in between them that are prone to decay, etc. My first quote to have the work fixed was over $10,000. Needless to say I deeply regret going to Mexico to have this work done. I wish I had just paid more and gone with someone local who would have done a more careful job. I would have saved myself so much time, pain, and anxiety, and considering all the money I'm having to spend on fixing Dr. Iniguez's work, the cost would probably have ended up being about the same. read more

This is the most well run dentist office down in Algodones. These guys have been here for years and years. They have a prime location right off the main street. The office is staffed by friendly and very well trained professionals. I think what sets them apart is they have their own labs. Meaning they make their own crowns in the house and don't have to farm them out. Therefore their materials are better and you get a better overall product. They are not the cheapest dentist down there but you pay for the quality that you get. And since it's my teeth I will pay that difference. read more

You get what you pay for, there are cheaper options in this boarder town, but probably not better dentists. Compared to Dentistry in the states or Canada, this is a steal. The office is clean, the staff is professional, if you are not bi-lingual this is a good choice because they are. They do not have staff on the corners hawking their wares because word of mouth keeps their appointment books filled. Most importantly, my experience was pain-free and my teeth look and feel amazing. They took x-Rays and before and after pictures that clearly identified the issues I had and the work that they had done. Getting work done in Mexico was a little frightening at first, but from the other side of the experience I can say I would do it again and recommend it to others looking to get quality work done at a fraction of what it would cost back home. read more

Like previous reviewers, my wife and I made an appointment with Dr. Iniquez's dental office based on a friend's favorable recommendation. Telephone contact was made with Netty who later identified herself as Dr. Iniquez spouse and office manager. We informed Netty that we both were in need of teeth cleanings and we were interested in consultations regarding our "known" dental issues (as we had recently seen our respective USA dentists). On appointment day they had a car meet us at the Los Algodones boarder entrance and drove us to the clinic. There we filled out the requisite paperwork and we had our teeth cleaned. We separately met with Dr. Javier Ramirez and Dr. Laiza Íñiguez Smith who similarly recommended to fully evaluate our dental health that they needed to take multiple photographs of our upper and lower teeth, followed by panoramic full mouth X-Rays. Both Drs. were very professional and spent upwards of 30 minutes outlining their recommendations referencing our individual dental photographs and X-Rays. (Note: After the appointments we compared our conservations with the respective Drs., and we opined they were following a script focused on directing us to involved and expensive treatment dental plans). We were placed in the same room and Netty soon entered with printouts of our respective treatment plans. And then Netty proceeded to tell us that her assessment of our dental treatment "that definitely needed to be done" encompassed 20 zirconia crowns and 33 porcelain veneers (between the two of us) for a combined total of $33,000.00. When I pointed out to Netty her treatment assessments were in excess of what her two dentists just suggested, she became very pushy and aggressive indicating their assessments were too passive. She continued on with her assertive sales pitch by pointing out she would give us a combined $3,000.00 discount if we were to give her a $1,000.00 (each) deposit and that discount was good just for this date. She added that if we committed to the treatment plans she would wave the $250.00 (each) fees for cleaning and panoramic X-Rays. (Note: The written assessment [which included the $3K discount] clearly denotes the estimate pricing was "good for 60 days".) We then asked her to allow us to discuss her proposals in private and she again became aggressive and emphasized that we needed to have all the dental work she had summarized and the prices quoted were only good for today. My wife and I agreed that no one in Dr. Iniquez 's office ever expressed any interest in learning just what dental work "we believed" we need and Netty's proposed comprehensive dental treatment plans were comical. And despite the fact Dr. Iniquez 's clinic reportedly had a history of satisfied patients, it was our joint opinion - that we had just experienced a well rehearsed dental treatment mill; in which the primary focus was based on profit. We informed Netty that we would be not be seeking any further treatments with the clinic and we ready to pay for the services rendered. Suffice it to say Netty was not pleased and offered further discounts as we walked to the reception area. We paid the $500.00 for two cleanings and panoramic X-Rays and she reluctantly agreed to have one of the Doctors complete our Dental Insurance forms. While waiting for the forms to be completed she walked in and out of the reception area all the while starring at us. She once stated she had given us a break in the costs for our cleanings/X-Rays. A few days later I checked Dr. Iniquez 's website (https://www.driniguez.com/cosmetic-dentist/ ) and observed the following: "There is a $150 fee for consultations. This fee includes the costs for completing a comprehensive dental examination, thorough diagnosis, and a fully customized treatment plan, along with a panoramic X-ray, periodical X-rays, and series of intramural digital pictures." I called Netty about the $200 overcharge for our combined initial consultations and she said the increase was due to panoramic X-rays. But when I referenced the clinic's own website on consultation pricing and I emphasized that the panoramic X-rays "were included" with the initial consultation - she terminated the call. We did find another competent dental office who completed our needed dental needs for a very reasonable price. In my opinion anyone needing quality dental work in Los Algodones is to first do due diligence as there are good selection of professional dentists who are focused on performing valid quality dental procedures without having to deal with Netty at Dr. Iniquez's clinic. read more

I went to Dr. Iniquez because I had heard great things about his work. I had a consultation with his daughter Dr. Laiza and she was wonderful. I met all the doctors and they were all professional and friendly (all family). After the consultation, Dr. Laiza gave me a written quote for what I wanted done. After I got back home, I called to schedule the work on my teeth but was totally shocked at what I encountered over the phone. The person I talked to, which I found out was his wife, was absolutely rude and unprofessional. She said they would not do what I was quoted...she wanted me to do 8 crowns instead of 6. She also said the quote was wrong and it would be more money. I said to her, " so you are calling Dr. Laiza your daughter a liar"and she said yes!! I was in shock. Dr. Laiza was very kind and professional and knew exactly what she was doing and saying. Whatca shame her mother ruins it for the rest of the staff. I made an appointment with Dr. Iniquez because a friend of mine had good dental work done by him so that is why I made an appointment with him (although after she heard my experience with his Office manager she verified that she had a similar experience with her) . So my 1 star review is not about the quality of his work, which I never had done after all, but is based on my interaction with the totally pushy and rude attitude of his receptionist, who I have now learned is his wife Netty. I went to Los Algodones with the intention (and the cash) to have veneers on my upper teeth. His office staff is very professional, they took lots of photos and X-rays. Then I met with the doctor, he spent time explaining to me what he thought I should have done. Then he left the room and in walks his office manager/wife who proceeds to give me the price of the work they "recommend" I need to do: which was on my entire mouth, All 24 of my teeth, amounting to over $14,000 which was a great deal more than I wanted to do, had time to do, or more importantly could afford at that time. When I explained that to her, she became very pushy, aggressive, and offensive. She did not listen to what I was saying. I cannot pull $14,000 out the air. I explained and re-explained that I did not have the time or that much money to do that amount of work in my first visit. She became more and more obnoxious and pushy, saying that was a special price that I must agree to then Right Then or it wouldn't be good. Finally I had to stand up and say, I need to go. I couldn't continue to argue with her about the reasons why first of all the amount of work she insisted that I agree to in the time frame it would take. I wanted to some of that work but not all of it THEN nor did I have $14,000 to do Everything. I got up, walked out to her reception desk where she glared at me like I was not a customer but someone who was a problem. With that we had a sort of stare down at her reception desk and then she told me that I owed them $150.00 for the visit and that wouldn't be deductible for the future work that I said I would return to do when I had the opportunity. Let me just say to any potential clients of Dr. Iniguez, that is a big overcharge for a consultation & X-rays. There are so very many dental clinics in Los Algodones and all give FREE consultations and charge anywhere from $10.00 to $30.00 for X-rays, which is deductible when the final bill is paid if you agree to have them do the work. There are many many great dentists in town. Dr. Iniguez seems like a very good dentist BUT his wife totally is a turn off and her "closer" presentation is a both obnoxious and unprofessional. The price she quoted me was way over the going rate for the work and the overcharge for the consult and X-rays was a rip off. He needs to move her out of the front office and get someone who has some customer service skills. My recommendation to anyone wanting good dental work in Los Algodones is to go elsewhere as there are many great and professional dentists there, you don't need to deal with Her. read more

Pretty ridiculously over priced. I brought my parents here for estimates on dental work and was badgered constantly by the owners wife about getting my own work done. The dentist who did my cleaning persisted only twice with his recommendations but stopped everything once I was clear. Yet here this lady would NOT stop bringing it up after I CLEARLY informed her I was not going to get any work done, that I had merely gone as a chauffeur for my parents as its a five hour drive. She badgered me at least four times to the point that I walked out to get some good old HOT air to get away from her. Don't come here, its price gouging at its finest. You would think they filled your cavities with adamantium or unobtainium with how much their prices are. read more
