This is a really cute rustic little coffee shop tucked away in the shopping center near the Elizabeth post office. I stopped here for a mocha and a pastry while running some errands. The decor and atmosphere is really cute and rustic. There's a bunch of seating. The cashier/barista was very friendly and the service was fast. My mocha was really good. Not overly sweet with just the right amount of chocolate and great coffee flavor. The strawberry pastry I tried was super buttery and flaking and had just the right amount of fruit filling. I will absolutely be back since I now live in the area. A must stop by for anyone looking for a good coffee and a great place to read/study/work. They also have a food menu including sandwiches and other breakfast/brunch foods as well that I am looking forward to trying. read more

A Warm and Homey Small Town Hangout I go through Elizabeth about 6 or 8 times a year and I never miss dropping in to this coffee, breakfast and lunch place. My one beef is that they don't offer a light roast coffee. Otherwise they have everything. My personal favorite is the bacon & jalapeño breakfast burrito which is among the best I've had anywhere. They'll whip up whatever breakfast you want, and in a hurry! They have all the usual expresso drinks and teas and it's all served up in a very cozy and inviting atmosphere, generally (my experience) among quite a few locals relaxing or taking care of business. I get coffee here every couple weeks. It is right next to the post office, so it is very convenient. I get a kick out of being called "young feller" pretty much every time I walk through the door. This is not my favorite latte in the Denver area, but given the limited choices for 15 miles in any direction, it is pretty darn good. Prices are typical, and the staff are very friendly. The also sell sandwiches, salads and baked goods from Udi's Bakery. In addition, they have Bluepoint Bakery muffins, sticky buns, cookies, and raised bread cinnamon rolls. Furthermore, they also carry local foods and treats, with Mame's Breakfast Burritos, and Rose's Creamery's Ice Cream. But, I mostly come for the coffee. This really is a social hub for Elizabeth. You will run into locals of all ages, some families, and even random bikers who have dropped in for a drink. They do live music on certain days, and are open late on others. They are closed on Sundays. read more

Just a quick update. Still liking Isabella's. They are a community hub as well. They offer cool stuff from time to time in synergy with local artists and food producers. Such as painters and local ranchers that sell grass feed beef. If you are local check them out and support them regularly. If you are driving through town on a "Sunday drive" stop in and check out the local scene. Enjoy! read more

We came to meet up with family. The service was friendly, warm and efficient. Sandwiches were well made and tasty. Cappuccino was made perfectly, and my friend's peppermint mocha was, in her words, "fantastic!". I love the art in the place- all from local artists, and it really gives the place character. We just moved to Elizabeth and I was so excited to try this place. I am giving it three stars because I had one great experience and one awful one. The great one included some delicious chili, am iced tea and an afternoon spent working here. The awful one involved waited almost 45 minutes for two sandwiches to go, only to find out they didn't have the croissants I wanted. I should have asked for a refund and left but I continued to wait. I got home with the sandwiches (turkey) and opened them to find out they both had guacamole spread all over them which I had specifically asked NOT to have, and they were both heated so the tomatoes and mayo were literally melted into the sandwich. I almost threw up - both went into the trash. Sat for an hour to end up throwing away $20 in food. We ended up ordering pizza and waiting another hour for it so we had energy to start unpacking. I live in Elizabeth and know they are a local business and the owner is very nice so I am not giving up hope that this improves. Just check your sandwiches before you leave! read more

I've only had regular coffee here and only a couple of times. The first time I asked a lot of questions. The coffee is organic/ fair trade and good. I can drink it without any half and half. Most local coffee is not very tasty. The staff is really nice. PS I am guessing that they would take advice on lattes or espresso to heart so go ahead and say something and we'll get a place that is good for those,too. read more

It was an early afternoon time around 1:30pm. Before I was going to my job assignment, I needed a quick coffee break. As I was coming out of the business right across from the street, this coffee shop didn't escape my notice. I wasted no time to rush to it to check it out. This shop is conjoined with a little country shop. Once you are inside the building, the coffee shop is to the right. A young lady welcomed me with a smile. I was the only person at the time of the visit so I was immediately helped. The drink menu is a good size. They also have a decent selection for breakfast and lunch items. My iced latte (16oz) was not even $5 after tax. I truly appreciate the small town prices. This place does look like something the town of Elizabeth had long been waiting for: another boost to make this quiet and quaint town could utilize to bring some curious visitors to come check out and see how cute Elizabeth is. When I pick up another shift in this part of town, now I know where to go to get a refreshing iced latte (by the way, my latte tasted really good!)

"I didn't need any donut; I just needed coffee" was exactly what I said to her and this kind lady said she could sell prebatched cold brew in individual jars if that would be OK with me. OMG! What a kind gesture is what I thought so without hesitation, I said my loud yes to her. She said she had unsweetened one and lightly sweetened one. After giving it a thought, I went with the unsweetened one as she said she had sweet cream and non-sweet cream in her mini fridge. Those individual jars of cold brew are $5.69. Not bad! The store inside is quaint. Although no food (donut wise) was available for purchase as I was there after the end of their normal business hours, I could only imagine how much this cute little shop would look with its adorable-ness when they had their full shebang of food items. I could see myself sitting in one of the tables/chairs enjoying a nice hot coffee and some delicious donut bites right by the window. I will have to make a point to visit it during their peak hours of their operation to fully enjoy their service. My big thanks go to the nice lady and her son for being so generous by allowing me to purchase the cold brew 30 minutes after their closing time. They truly saved me from being collapsing to the floor.

I questioned the drink that she made for me. She said, "It's right. It's whatever's on the cup. Do you want something else?" she said with her hand on her hip as though I were bothering her. I asked to see the manager. She snapped at me and said, "Which manager. I have several managers. What do you want?" The other girl said none of them were there and to come back another time. I had to get going. I only had 1/2 hour to get to my next stop and take care of business before they closed. You know, everything is getting very expensive. I treat myself to a coffee sometimes to make the work day go a little better. If I'm going to spend $7 on a coffee, I really don't need a side order of grief to go with it. It seems the kids in Elizabeth CO could use an attitude adjustment. Where's the supervision? I never get this grief at Cowgirlz Coffee, but they're not open late in the afternoon. I'd go there all the time if they were open.

We were in Elizabeth at a softball tournament. Had a break between games. Thought we would try this quaint coffee shop. To our absolute surprise the breakfast burrito with green chili was really one of the best we've ever tasted. As we were waiting for them to cook, the owner said we have the best BLTs in 500 miles, come back for lunch. Instead I ordered one to go. I'm really not a fan of BLTs but it truly was the best BLT I've ever tasted. So next time you are in or around Elizabeth, Colorado it's definitely worth stopping at Isabels coffee shop. Looks to be family-owned. Staff couldn't be any friendlier, place is very clean. And the patrons we saw in there we're treated like family all sitting around tables chatting. Golden Joes/Isabells coffee is the absolute best family run business on the planet. They have the best food and drinks, and are the most community focused business I have ever seen. They even invite students into their establishment to read poems (great to see support of our children). I cannot say how much it means to support our local community as much as they do. Isabel's is a wonderful place to sit down with a coffee, hot cocoa, or a homemade burrito and chat with a friend. It has a welcoming, cozy atmosphere; just what you want at a local coffee shop. Also, the peppermint white chocolate hot cocoa is amazing. And if you haven't tried one of their burritos with green chili sauce, then you definitely need to. ;-) read more

This is great coffee shop. The prices are fair and the food is absolutely delicious. The owners are super nice. I would recommend if you are in town and like coffee shops that are not Starbucks, you should stop in. This place has a very relaxed feel to it. read more
