I told the staff that I actually had 4 medical issues to discuss with him and that this was not my normal annual visit where I usually say, "Yes, everything is fine." I wanted to keep the appointment, if possible, even if it was with another medical professional in his office. I was assigned to the PA, which is great. When she entered the room and reviewed what I had just gone over with the health assistant who took the weight and blood pressure, she informed me that I had 15 minutes, so I should start with the most important issues first. Is this quality care? Really??!! That's my introduction to a new HCProfessional? I should have gotten up and left the office because it went downhill from there. I left frustrated, disappointed, and angry. If this is our healthcare system of professionals, maybe we should all invest in the medical version of ChatGPT and buy the "doctor kit in a box" that is currently being advertised on TV. ChatGPT asks me more questions than she did--Probably because my 15 minutes included the time to type in my record. I will find another PCP. In full disclosure, I have always found the office staff to be courteous, professional, and timely. They respond to emails and requests for prescription refills promptly and professionally. I appreciate Dr Gottron, as well, but I will not run the risk of having to deal with his substitute again, and honestly, waiting for 3 weeks was a bit too long to wait.

That impression was totally one devoid of customer service and understanding of human interaction while this interaction was completely in touch with humans. I was greeted warmly by the front info desk staff that directed me to the mammogram area desk. They then greeted me just as warmly then led me down the hall conversing with me and asking if I'd ever been here. The waiting room I was led to??? A private room with my own sofa and flat screen TV with controls to adjust however I liked plus an area to change into not just any robe but a pretty one soft as can be fuzzy terrycloth and my own private locker. The room was not a sterile white one but with a soft color palette. I'm saying all this because it was so opposite my previous Magee experience (see my review) and was so caring for such a nervous experience for this, my re-do diagnostic mammogram. In this same room a technician took all my info and entered it into the computer. I waited on my room with the door shut, having privacy until she came for me for the mammogram across the hall. The experience was one of her talking to me in general, being personable all the while. Technically, I learned this was a 3D mammagram, while the Magee location mammogram performed was not. I waited again in my private waiting room for the radiologist to read and interpret the tesults. My same technician, Michelle, came to tell me the results. All is good. My entire experience here was one of excellent care. I didn't feel rushed and I didn't feel like a number. I felt I mattered as a patient and a human.

Many of the physicians and other medical professionals have been helpful and courteous. Same with UPMC, and Allegheny. I have had only one interaction with a physician that was less than stellar, and celebrated when he retired.

I went here to see about a few moles - should they be removed? The doctor is difficult to…read moreunderstand - not because she is foreign but because she explains nothing! Answers you in one or two words. She also has a poor bedside manner. I actually didn't even know that she was the doctor at first, I actually had to ask her, since she was dressed in street clothes, no lab coat or anything to distinguish her from the receptionist and her assistant. Doc says all three moles need removed. "I don't like moles, all gone" was the extent of my explanation. I don't know about you, but I'm not a doctor, that's why I'm here to see one. So I obviously need further explanation to the questions I'm asking. Although she insists she needs to remove all 3 moles, because they "all might be cancer", she will only do one at a time. I asked why? Insurance won't cover more than one per visit. Sounds suspect to me. So, oh great, I get to be charged for three visits instead of one. I do permit her to remove one mole, the only one I was really concerned about. The entire time, instead of being concerned that I may be nervous about a big needle in my armpit or slicing this mole off, Doc is busy talking about what is on sale at Giant Eagle. The receptionist is rude also. They were supposed to call me with the results two weeks later. They did not, and I had to call them. Then, the receptionist acted like it was a huge chore to go get my results. I clearly never returned.
