Every single person doing MRI or X Ray or Dexa Scan or mammogram was polite, professional and courteous. Blood draw was good as well. Many of the physicians and other medical professionals have been helpful and courteous. Same with UPMC, and Allegheny. I have had only one interaction with a physician that was less than stellar, and celebrated when he retired. read more

I had a bunch of bloodwork that I needed to get done, and some of them were failing to be covered by my insurance. They asked if I still wanted those particular labs drawn and I said no. They took the bloodwork anyway. There's a good chance I'll be getting a huge bill in the mail because of it. One of those tests was $400 alone. It honestly feels like the supervisor there is avoiding talking to me directly about this issue even though I had just talked to her the day before because I noticed my insurance may not have been in their system right based on the name of the insurance shown on a copy of one of the papers they gave me, and called her to ask her if that could be why some of my labs weren't covered. This is not the first time this has happened, unfortunately. A few years ago, I ran into the same issue where they tried to take labs I didn't want for the same reason (insurance didn't want to cover one of them), but I caught their mistake before they drew my labs. Moral of the story: I do not recommend getting blood drawn here, but if you do, ALWAYS double check with them when you're filling out the paperwork AND once again right before they go to take your blood. And know what you're signing before you sign it every single time you come in. They have a tendency to fill out notices of non-converage when the patient is the one that should be filling it out. Double check to make sure the right boxes are checked everytime! read more

NEVER AGAIN!! I have tried repeatedly to give this place a chance and bottom line is they care more about making money than you as a patient! Treat you like cattle, in and out, zero kindness then DOUBLE CHARGE services. I'm so sick of seeing providers who see you as dollar signs. read more

I am greatly impressed by the both the facility and staff. I had a mammogram at Magee in Monroeville, a UPMC facility. That impression was totally one devoid of customer service and understanding of human interaction while this interaction was completely in touch with humans. I was greeted warmly by the front info desk staff that directed me to the mammogram area desk. They then greeted me just as warmly then led me down the hall conversing with me and asking if I'd ever been here. The waiting room I was led to??? A private room with my own sofa and flat screen TV with controls to adjust however I liked plus an area to change into not just any robe but a pretty one soft as can be fuzzy terrycloth and my own private locker. The room was not a sterile white one but with a soft color palette. I'm saying all this because it was so opposite my previous Magee experience (see my review) and was so caring for such a nervous experience for this, my re-do diagnostic mammogram. In this same room a technician took all my info and entered it into the computer. I waited on my room with the door shut, having privacy until she came for me for the mammogram across the hall. The experience was one of her talking to me in general, being personable all the while. Technically, I learned this was a 3D mammagram, while the Magee location mammogram performed was not. I waited again in my private waiting room for the radiologist to read and interpret the tesults. My same technician, Michelle, came to tell me the results. All is good. My entire experience here was one of excellent care. I didn't feel rushed and I didn't feel like a number. I felt I mattered as a patient and a human. read more

THIS PLACE SUCKS!! My boyfriend went to the pain center we sat there over an hour and a half the doctor came in for 10 min. Said i want u to go to PT. And that was it. My boyfriend also told the front desk his address has changed they said ok at first but when my boyfriend looked at the papers after we got in the car they still didnt change the address so he went back in to have them change it they said the address doesnt matter and wouldnt change it so my boyfriend said forget he will just find another doctor. read more

Waited 45 minutes to be told that the doctor wouldn't treat me. If you want to be made to feel like garbage, this is the place. Stay as far away from Excela as humanly possible where you are just a number, especially to the general practitioners. And if you do go there, make sure you find out what the doctor's notes are. They really do put inappropriate and negative remarks that stay on your record. Avoid at all costs. Found a wonderful practice that understands and treats me with individualized care, and life is good :) read more

If you are looking to waste a day then this is the place for you! My doctor sent me in this morning for a simple xray. After waiting in line for 10 minutes at checkin, I was taken to a room and told someone would be right with me. 20 minutes later someone did come in and took my insurance info. The entire time she complained about her boss and having to do 2 new patients in a row (me being one of them). When she was done she told me someone would be right with me. Another lady came in and made me put a gown on and said yet another person would be right with me. I have been sitting here for 2 hours now and I still have not had an X-ray. I'll be healed by the time they come in! **update- After 2 hours and 15 minutes I finally found someone outside my room that was able to help me. She said they didn't have any xray patents in line. She entered my room and saw a clip board with all of my info on it. Apparently the lady who was so concerned about complaining about her boss had forgotten to take it and put it somewhere. That's how they know a patient is waiting. Once they discovered this a tech was promptly there and my xray took less than 5 minutes. The tech even said it was too bad what happened to me because she hadn't had a patient in over an hour! What a joke! read more

Have not been very happy with this place at all went to get a VFD physical exam and wasn't really going the way I liked just felt like I was being pushed to do things I did not feel comfortable doing it's like all the pretty much is your money I had them pushing stuff on to me that I have no intentions even doing anytime soon if your gonna go to this place then good luck to ya I don't think I'd go back to this place if it was even the last one on earth....! read more

Awful gynecologist! My blood pressure was a little high at when I was there last, so they took it twice after I told them that it was going to be higher because I was at the doctors and that's just how I get every time. Well that was December 3rd and now I went to pick up my birth control and it wasn't there, so I called and they said I have to schedule an appointment before they call it in so I can get my blood pressure rechecked because it was high after I told them that it will be higher every time and it wasn't even that high. The worst part is that they never once told me when I was there that I had to schedule another appointment for my blood pressure to be checked and they won't prescribe me my birth control until the appointment. I will never be returning, I would not recommend going here at all! read more

Staff is complacent & doctor is inaccessible. I drove an hour and 1/2 one way. I was 9 minutes late from construction on turnpike. There's no way to let them know you're behind other than voicemail. When I got there the front desk turned me away and told me to reschedule. Refused to call back. Being her patient used to be a great experience until Excela enveloped them. I was a 20 year patient. 2 decades and I took a back seat to appointment stacking and copay racking. I left her practice over it. read more

I was seen in the ER on 12/7 and told I had a scaphoid fracture. My X-ray was negative, but the doctor told me x-rays are known to be poor at identifying scaphoid fractures, & said to follow up with an Orthopedic doctor (he suggested Dr Brunton) ASAP because these injuries can lead to permanent damage (avascular necrosis, arthritis) if not properly treated. When I called for an appointment, the scheduler told me that SHE looked at my chart, & that since my X-ray was negative, I wouldn't be given an appointmemt until JANUARY. Even after I explained what I was told in the ER, she still would not give me an appointment with that doctor any sooner than sometime in the new year. I did get in with another physician next week, but I think it's a little ridiculous that it won't be with Dr Brunton, the hand specialist I was referred to, seemingly due to a judgment called made by the secretary. read more
