It was one of the most memorable Pride events I've been to presented by Indy Pride due to the unique venue and atmosphere. This past Wednesday, I had another opportunity to visit Tinker House for a Sound Bath presented by BFF Indy. It was a very different experience as the intention was a more meditative one opposed to a party with a DJ the last time I was there. It was still daylight when I arrived and mostly empty which made it convenient and ideal to explore the bridal suite and take pictures of the venue without any obstructions. The Sound Bath was held on the dance floor with lots of natural light surrounding us. I love the idea of the Sound Bath in this fun space. Although, I've had them in the past at a yoga studio which was MUCH quieter. My constructive criticism is that there is too much noise coming from the traffic outside (especially because this was at 5pm during rush hour) even on the second story of the building to relax and get the full benefits of a Sound Bath. There were no blankets, pillows or yoga mats either which isn't necessarily the responsibility of Tinker House but still something to be noted for future events. BFF Indy should have given attendees a heads up to bring their own supplies because sitting on a hard wood floor where people dance and walk on with shoes that have just been outside downtown is rather off putting and took away from the overall experience. The facilitator did an amazing job all things considered. I will go back for events in the future just not if they are supposed to be relaxing. Tinker House is ideal for social gatherings like weddings and parties. The decor is aesthetically appealing and very well thought out. There is a ambient bar/lounge on the first floor in addition to the one upstairs. There is limited parking in front of the building and a coffee shop next door.

416 Wabash is one of the more unique event spaces I have been to. Located on the east side of…read moredowntown, it looks like a very unassuming building on the outside. Once you step inside, it feels like you have stepped into some kind of underground nightclub. I don't know the history of the building but it probably was an industrial space of some sort. With the presence of the disco ball you couldn't help but feel a retro vibe. I have been to 416 Wabash for corporate events and fundraisers. There are several bars throughout and abundant space for a dance floor. I always enjoy hanging out in the balcony and looking down at the stage and crowd.

I was so surprised at the price of the drinks - in a good way. $6 for all beer and $8 for a wells drink. Any theater I have ever been too charge at least $10 for beer and much more for mixed drinks. The venue itself is perfect for a show like this. The stage in the center, a few rows of VIP seats and standing room. I think this would be a great location for a party!

We brought in our own vendors, which helped us stay within budget, and the venue worked perfectly with our choice to use food trucks--such a fun and unique touch that our guests loved. It's also worth noting that they do have great partner options available too, including help with booking hotel blocks, which is super convenient. The bar setup was another highlight. Their build-your-own bar package is such a cool option, and Ayden was incredibly helpful in guiding us through it. He even offered to track down Malört for us (I'm a Chicago native, so that meant a lot!). We ultimately went with a cash bar, but his willingness to go above and beyond really stood out. There is a lot of natural light which is nice. I think the space may have been sectioned off so I couldn't quite get a sense of the entire venue. They were able to move us into a different room with a working bathroom, but the portable A/C unit's exhaust kept falling out of the window and sending hot air into the room no matter how much duct tape they added. The keys barely worked, and we went through about 30 different keys in our 5 day stay. there was only one soda machine and one snack vending machine for the entire hotel and both were out of order. There was no free breakfast and not even coffee on the weekends. The carpets throughout were filthy, and there was an overall sense of neglect and antipathy toward the guests. I was there for GenCon 2026, and definitely got the impression that they did not want us there.

It's a co-working space for driven local businesses, many of them being home services businesses. The owner of the space also owns Homesense Heating & Cooling (also loved on Yelp) and is an incredible person. He also lets The District Church use the space on Sundays. I love how multi-purpose and helpful the space is. Black Circle Brewing and Elena Ruz Cuban Cuisine are also located in the building, but on the back of the co-working space. CO-WORKING SPACE: The co-working space is nice and recently renovated. They offer 24/7 access, a complimentary mailbox, local coffee, networking events, business improvement seminars, conference rooms, and secure shipping/receiving for members of the space. You can rent anything from a local to a small or large office, to an entire floor. Their different packages are on their website! EVENT SPACE: The great space is also open to non-members to rent as well. We had a cocktail and painting class event here and loved using the multiple spaces. We had the cocktail class and catering set up in the beautiful kitchen, and used the multi-purpose room for the painting class. The owner Brian was super nice and helped us set up a few extra tables. They also have their different event space prices on their website too. The owner is so awesome, so this is definitely a place I love to support! They also do so much good for local businesses and the community, so def. check it out if you're looking for a space!
