Coming off of I-89 you get easy access to this location! Its not located in any city area. Its less than a half of mile off of 89. The gas prices are on the cheaper side! The rest rooms are very clean! They even offer a lot of pumps! So unless they are slammed with cars...Its a very easy in and out for a traveler on the go! They take credit cards or you have to prepay inside with cash. Store also offers snacks and drinks. Great 3/5! I have only been here one time. On my next trip down I will be stopping here for gas. This way when I get to Boston I wont have to fill up my car until I head out of Alewife!

It seems clear that staff in retail establishments in close contact to customers (less than 2 feet through the ice cream window) are required to wear masks per NH law. And even if they weren't can't they care enough about their customers to do so? They dismissed these folks rather rudely. Not impressed.

This little deli is a local treasure in a rural area. It is very conveniently located in the aptly…read morenamed Rum Brook Plaza between a gas station, Helen's Place (open for lunch and dinner), and a small brookside park. At lunchtime, the parking lot is like a beehive with cars and trucks of people working in the area pulling in and back out with freshly made sandwiches, salads (not green salads, but the kind made with real mayonnaise), and those huge dill pickles that used to stand around in barrels at old time delis. There are individual servings of desserts in a refrigerator, a smattering of fresh produce, fresh breads, snacks, beverages (including beer and wine, and there is even a tiny wine alcove), ice cream, birthday candles and other things you might need once in a while but can't seem to lay your hands on. In the mornings, there are house-made breakfast sandwiches in a warmer so people can grab and go. The people work hard and are kind and friendly. We stopped in on Memorial Day - along with everyone else in the area - to pick up potato salad, seafood salad, and macaroni salad, and they were prepared! It was all hands on deck at the deli, shelves were stocked, and there were extra checkout clerks. Whether it's at the unofficial kickoff to summer or on snowy day, the fine folks at Rum Brook Market are there to make your day just that much more satisfying.

On her way out the door she tripped and dropped one of the beverages putting a small hole in the can. She asked the clerk if she could replace it, his comment was "it was your fault I don't care..... no" Really in times like these do a kind gesture. I won't be back, he is rude, it's not the first time I've witnessed him say sarcastically mean things to customers. I do not want to see someone out of a job but he should grateful he has a job and consider some kindness.

Jake's lost around $50 on us that day for everything we would have bought for lunches (sandwiches, chips, dessert, etc.) Today I returned. Two customers walking around not wearing masks. I asked the nice cashier about it and she confided it's wisest for her not to comment on masks given some people who come would not take it well--and I knew precisely what she meant. Some pretty motley looking folks seem to frequent Jake's. A red-faced swaggery customer behind me--not wearing a mask--overheard me ask about masks in the store, and he starting taunting me for the type of mask I was wearing. I decided I didn't want to be anywhere near someone like that, or be in that store, so I left. Other than this clear problem with masks and sometimes quite seedy looking people working in the store (not the female cashiers who are nice and seem pretty normal) and sometimes pretty creepy looking folks hanging around the parking lot, Jake's has really good coffee, an interesting and wide variety of foods, and their homemade sandwiches tend to be delicious. You can also get Vermont made ice cream and home-baked dog biscuits, and other assorted things. When I got back to my parents' house I mentioned what happened.
