This was my third time here. I think the service is fine, the ingredients quality is good, and the restaurant looks nice, but the food is tasteless. We had koobide, barg, Ghome Sabzi, shallot yogurt, salad, etc. not much flavor, the kabobs were a bit in the cold side, and the ghome sabzi (the only thing with some flavor) was very sweet to taste, it's supposed to be a little on the sour side. I've been here a handful of times because the food is decent and it's close to my work. But every time the service is pretty poor. Today was the worst. I can for lunch so I need to eat and get back to the office. I ordered a chicken salad and my guest ordered the chicken breast lunch special. 30 mins goes by and nothing every table that came after us got their food. The waitress said all the tables order beef koobideh so their orders are faster. Chicken takes longer to cook. Yes, I know chicken takes longer to cook but we ordered at least 15 mins before any other table got there. Then she comes back and said they didn't have chicken prepared so it took them time to prep chicken. So what is it? Cooking time or no chicken prep. No apology was mentioned like it was our fault for ordering chicken. Food finally came out a little over an hour. I used to cook in a Middle Eastern restaurant so I have some knowledge cooking similar foods. Chicken kebobs don't take an hour to prep or cook. I don't mind there being delays, and mistakes happen, just tell me the truth and apologize for the mistake. I guess if I ever come back here, make sure I order the beef koobideh. read more

A nice new Persian cuisine in Irvine. It's located in Quail Hills shopping center where there is ample parking for everyone. The inside is clean and has simple decor which makes it look even cleaner. They use nice suede chairs which are very comfortable and will make you want to sit there for a while. Outdoor seating is available here as well and would be great for the warmer seasons. You will find almost everything you'd find at most persian cuisines here. I had to start off with the Kashke Bademjan (egg plant with cheese curd) which is one of the more popular persian appetizers. The flavor was good but the texture was too pasty in my opinion. It almost felt like it was microwaved many times and then puréed. For the entree I tried the soltani and boneless chicken kabob. You have the option of getting half rice and half salad for a little more. The chicken kabob was the winner here. Great presentation, flavor and a nice charred texture and taste. Soltani would have been great as well but the barg kabob was not left on the fire enough to char a little of the outside. Good flavor though for the barg. Over all, this place is new and I would still come back as it's definitely got potential and would do great in that location! read more

A hidden gem in the corner of quail hill plaza! The food is authentic and well made. I'm so glad my friend brought me here! Since I'm Persian I always like to get some koobideh on my days out. This place makes the most delicious and authentic food, the employees are really sweet and a joy to talk to, and the ambiance is so gorgeous and peaceful! My neighbor brought our group of 10 friends together at her favorite Persian restaurant in Irvine. I had the beef barg which is a marinated barbecued beef served with rice and salad. Taste wise I liked my friend's koobideh better as it seemed more moist and flavorful. Portions are huge! I have been coming to Irvine Grill for few years and never thought of writing a review because I thought everyone knows it is the best Persian food in Orange County! The food is consistently excellent, especially if you are a party of 3-5 people, the Arya Platter is such a great mix of foods. The lamb is just the best in any Orange County restaurants! They must use great meat and their chef is outstanding. Today I had the pleasure to be waited at by Parsa and he was fantastic. He was very personable, checked on us frequently and did a great job! a group of 5 couples visited Irvine Grill restaurant last night. While the food was good and the waitress was quite nice, our experience was marred by an unfortunate issue. We were overcharged for 2 extra meals on our bill. This was discovered the day after, which made it difficult to address immediately. I want to say I love this place because the quality of food is amazing but every time I come here, I'm waiting 40 mins for the food, the waiters/waitresses don't come and check on you to make sure you're okay, and they're always out of certain dishes that I want to order. We always really enjoy panini cafe but the chicken at Irvine Grill tasted more tender, but I think it is a little more expensive. That said, my husband said that it was the best chicken he ever had in his life so prices are still EXTREMELY reasonable and fair. Everything is so customizable like special rices and special salads. Food is overall ok, but to have my lamb plate come first burned and with the waitress bringing it to my table telling me it's ok it's burned and the second replacement completely raw and have to wait over 20 min for my replacement. There are two things that made me feel very positive when I arrived to this restaurant. One was a young lady by the name of Kiana, with a beautiful smile. she welcomed her. The second was the fact that most people in the restaurant were Persian. I was also welcomed with a nice plate of flat bread and butter, which was absolutely delicious.i ordered a traditional Persian soup called Ash Reshteh which is a lentil and noodle soup with beans and chickpeas. It was hardy and with a very interesting blend of flavors. It also had pieces of toasted garlic and spinach. Wow I was also told that they had the best koobideh in all of Orange County by a nice Persian man. He was right. It was perfectly cooks and so was the rice. This place over charge customers ( 18%) if you are more than 8. Yesterday I was in Irvine grill and we were 8 person. They over charged me 18% and when I asked why? The manager told me I am the manager and I don't see any reason to return your 18% which was 50$ back. In the beginning they don't tell you we charge you extra 18% if you are 8 or more than 8. And it is not fair. It's better that the employee inform customers as soon as the customer enter the restaurant that if their party consists of 8 or more people, an 18% service charge will be added. This way, customers are aware of the policy upfront, rather than being surprised when they see the bill after their meal. read more

Juicy, flavorful kabobs unlike any I have ever experienced in Persian restaurants. I appreciate the koobideh having more ground beef than fillers which renders to juicy and delicious bites. Perfectly seasoned meats and low sodium rice which is great and unlike most Persian restaurants. The barg is also tender and robust with flavor. We also had the butterfly trout and baghali polo with lamb shank which were very good as well. Great variety of menu choices and our food was served hot with fresh ingredients.
