Absolutely horrible! Was asked if I had a mental condition and then they said I had to pay and make another apt for someone to look at my scalp ( I remembered I wanted her to check as I was leaving)..but because I exited the patient room already, my apt was over. Never book a visit with Mary Littlehorn Do not go there especially if you want help regarding your skin after big issues. I took meds from my docs office a week ago for lice that they did find. Mary Littlehorn the Nurse practitioner was super dismisive and straight up asked me if I had a mental condition. You don't just say things like that. And I'm not. Do I have some bug anxiety after treating a real lice issue? Yes. She's super unprofessional. She asked me this after I told her I saw something that I thought could be lice (it was hard to see in the lighting though) after I washed my cloths. She straight up said she didn't believe that saying it was very unlikely. Like, maybe the wash and dry cycle wasn't hot enough, or maybe there's was an explanation...but she said no and asked about my mental health. I just wanted a professional opinion after deeling with bugs on my own. She did prescribe a steroidal cream. I remembered I wanted her to take a quick look at my scalp to tell me how the skin looked (also I don't live with someone who can look). However I remembered this as I was walking in the hall and they wouldn't let me back and said I had to make and pay for another appointment and she's booked all day. I said it would just take a minute. I pretty much paid $75 for someone to not believe me and ask if I was crazy...there are nicer ways of bringing up that people get anxious about bugs. Don't go here!!! Definitely don't book with Mary Littlehorn. read more

I absolutely recommend Ironwood Dermatology. My specific skin issue is been a long time issue. I have both eczema and psoriasis and to find a practice willing to see you for these conditions in today's world is difficult but my primary physician helped. Then in December I was unlucky enough to come down with Shingles and let me say this if you are age appropriate and have not taken the Shingles vaccine trust me, you want the vaccine. You do not want the Shingles! It's May and I still have the effects. I have always been treated kindly here and I don't mind driving from Green Valley to my appointments. In my opinion, this office is the epitome of disorganization. I was rescheduled 3 times. First, because "Dr. Christopher is out of the office." Fine. Second, I specifically asked for Thursday and agreed to drive 35 minutes to Oro Valley. They booked me for Monday anyway...because apparently calendars are just a vibe. So on Thursday, September 4, I make the 35-minute trek, only to be told, "No, you're booked for Monday." I explain (again) that I can't do Mondays. Meanwhile, the front desk lady is too busy helping a colleague jump the line to schedule his wife from behind the counter. Professional. She eventually "fixes" it to Thursday, September 11 and even hands me an appointment card. I drive home and get a text confirming... Monday, September 8. I cancel that texted appointment, assuming the system just hadn't caught up with my new Thursday slot. On the 11th, I show up 20 minutes early with the appointment card in my hand, and the front desk insists I canceled "my appointment." Several minutes later... Me: "Show me what you're looking at." Her: turns the monitor "See? You canceled." Me: "That's the 8th. Today is the 11th. Different days." Cue the back-and-forth sprints behind the desk. Then an MA appears: "Well, Dr. Christopher is booked. He wants you to see the PA." Me: "No. You scheduled this mess, not me." MA: "He already has 51 patients to see." Me: "Then I guess I'll just leave." What a zoo. If the doctor actually told the MA to push me to a PA after their own scheduling fiasco (x3), in my opinion, that's even worse. Either way, the practice made the mistake and couldn't be bothered to make it right. read more

As a trans woman, who has been transitioning since 17 years old. hormones since 18. In no way do i look masculine. I'm 31. Name and gender legally changed. My name is Alyssa. They still called me Mr when calling my name out. i moved from bay area california, and i have never ever dealt with anyone calling me Mr...Especially in a medical environment. The actual dermatologist, seemed like he can care less, super rushed appointment. I would absolutely not recommend this to anyone who is transgender, LGBTQIA+. This is the second time i've been misgendered here in Arizona. Which is super weird since i've been to OR, WA, NY, IL, DC, and NV. I've never ever been misgendered. It's actually crazy because in no way was i masculine, i literally have top surgery. I'm not sure how i'm reading male to others, but it just so happened to be in Arizona only. which is now a no brainer because people here are not friendly. no wonder this place has so many bad reviews. on top of being called mr., the doctor literally rushed me out, and when i had multiple questions, he basically said make another appointment and we can talk about it. Which is weird since i was right there, and i don't have insurance, and it costs around 300 for that appointment. 10/10 would not recommend. read more

I have not been to the skyline location as a patient yet and I gotta say it was a great experience. I showed up 2 minutes before my appointment time (I'm sorry, traffic did me dirty that day) and I was brought back so fast despite how busy they were and how not medically on time I was. The front desk had Bry managing not only rescheduling patients that arrived to the wrong location, but also training new hires and taking calls, checking folks in etc. and they made my process seem smooth. Alicia (sp?) my MA did a great job numbing me up for my biopsies especially as I don't typically numb up well. Christopher MD was thorough, talked through his differentials and kept me in the loop with what he was noticing about my abnormal and normal moles. I have a solid level of anxiety surrounding going to these appointments and I felt taken care of. Did not cry on the way home. read more

Do, the work provided here is great if they don't mess up your appointments or have to cancel and then fail to reschedule you. I've been coming here for more than a year to see the dermatologist and have laser hair removal. I'm happy with the services but the scheduling is a nightmare. Twice I've scheduled appointments and I've come in and they have no record. I always schedule a new appointment when I leave and then I come in and there is no record. I took a vision-impaired elderly family member to see Dr. Glaesser twice and Dr. Cervantes once. Each time, she was seen at the scheduled time, and the doctors were very professional, kind, and patient with her. We had no issues with insurance or front desk staff. When my family member passed, and I called to cancel future appointments, the staff member who answered the phone offered sincere condolences. I also received a sympathy card from Dr. Glaesser. read more

Had my first derm exam with Dr. Glaesser 2 days ago. The facility is conveniently located with good parking, though a little tricky to find tucked away off of Skyline. The waiting area was spacious and comfortable. I was surprised when I walked in to see 4 people behind the reception counter - that's a lot of staff. The good news is even though they were busy they took care of my enrollment forms quickly and efficiently. I was ushered to an exam room just a few minutes after my scheduled appointment time, so they seem to be able to stay reasonably on-schedule. I was told to disrobe down to my skivvies - a little unusual in that in all of my prior derm exams I was always given a robe for warmth and privacy, but no big deal. The doctor arrived after about 15 minutes of waiting, asked a few questions, and began her exam. She was reasonably thorough, though it seemed a little quick compared to my prior experience. Dr Glaesser did a great job of explaining what she found (a BCC + suspicious mole), she quickly performed the two incisions, and carefully explained what the next steps would be. I was bandaged up and sent on my way. Overall I was pretty happy with my experience there and see no reason to go elsewhere for future exams. Dr Glaesser seems very professional, I thought she had a very good "bedside manner". read more

I had a biopsy taken by Dr Behr in early Oct.  A week later I received a call from her PA telling me that the biopsy results indicated  cancer and that I needed Mohs surgery. Two months later Dr Rodriguez performed the Mohs surgery. At no time did he inform me of the "type" of cancer I had and made no mention of scheduling a followup. Two days later I asked Ironwood for a copy of the pathology  report on the biopsy.  I was shocked to learn that I had Squamous cancer., an aggressive form of skin cancer. I spoke to Dr Behr about this.  I told her that I have had Mohs surgery three times before on my face and in each case I received a copy of the lab results and a call from my doctor discussing the  treatment options.    Previous doctors had always suggested a 6 month followup after the surgery. I asked Dr Behr why I did not get a call from her to discuss the lab results. She said that "they were very busy."  I asked her about a 6 month followup and she said she would agree with that. Squamous  skin cancer is a very serious thing.  In my opinion, Ironwood Dermatology is not the place you want to go for serious skin issues -- they appear to have a lack concern and fail at basic doctor to patient communication. read more

I am so disappointed in this establishment. They intentionally filed my billing under the Dr. who operated on me (who was not covered by my insurance), instead of the clinic (which my insurance fully covered). I spent over 10 hours trying to fix it with the billing department but they insisted there was nothing they could do and I was stuck with a bill over $700. This was over 3 years ago, and I am still trying to pay it off. If you are considering working with them MAKE SURE you specify your payment needs beforehand. I wish I could take back my visit here - it has caused me so much stress and financial anxiety, and the operation left a huge scar on my arm to top it all off. I would give them zero stars if I could and I am not a zero stars kind of person. read more

I saw Dr Trout for a mole and this was my first time going to this dermatologist. My appt was at 3:30. I arrived probably around 3:22 and was in the chair at 3:35 and was out the door before 4PM! Super quick service and was able to get all my questions answered and on my way! They also offer a lot of cosmetic procedures and skin care options which was really nice to see as well. May come back to them if I'm ever looking for those services. read more

I did 8 - 10 sessions of laser hair removal and 3 months-ish after I completed it, everything was back to the drawing board. The therapist was very professional, but I guess the treatment has never worked as expected since the beginning... In summary, the result after 18 months-ish of treatment was way below the expectations. Be cautious! read more

This Practice it is TOTALLY incompetent....I was recommended by my insurance (Aetna) to go and see a Doctor here, paid my copay of $50, Doctor found a tiny skin-cancer in my nose, then they told me to return in 3 weeks to do the procedure of removal, that they were going to get the approval of Aetna for it....when I showed up 3 weeks later asked, all fine, they said yes, did the procedure (all of this in April), suddenly I kept getting notices from Aetna that they NEVER asked for an approval and the Doctor that did the procedure is NOT covered by Aetna, went to speak to them, they blame Aetna that they are, Aetna says they keep on sending the wrong billing code, it has been 3 months, and still not approved....it is truly amazing the level of incompetence of this location....I will NOT pay the bill and will be speaking to lawyer..... read more

This was my first time visiting Ironwood Dermatology. I, too, had visited Liz at her previous location. The first visit with her I was especially nervous because my experience with lip fillers at another practice was not good. That doctor had overfilled my upper lip so that, even after 5 months, I had a "duck lip". I wanted my upper lip fixed, but was apprehensive. Liz listened to my concerns and reassured me, explaining what she would be doing and making sure we were on the same page regarding expectations. Liz at Ironwood Dermatology is absolutely the best injector I've ever encountered! So incredible-that I drive from Phoenix to see her. Injecting is an art and Liz is a master artist! She is patient with questions about injections new to me and never pushes any procedure that is not needed nor wanted. She is a great consultant whom I trust implicitly. At 46-I've had only Botox for about five years-until last year when Liz added Juvederm Voluma to my cheeks. It looks very natural and I get many compliments about not looking anywhere near my age! We just received a $25 bill for services in December of 2020. Sent to the wrong address, though we keep telling them we have a new address. Furthermore, it is very hard to think about paying them even 1 cent because after taking something off my husband's shoulder at that time, it got terribly infected. They had never given him any antibiotics. Told us to go to the ER. (During his apt at Ironwood several assistants were going in and out of the treatment room with no masks on.) Lo and behold, when we went to the ER for the skin infection they tested him and he had Covid. Add that all up, and we will NEVER go back there. read more

I called specifically to determine if my insurance was accepted, provided all my insurance information, they assured me that they did take the insurance. After services were performed they sent me a bill for the visit and told me that they did NOT accept my insurance. I had a mole that I thought could be a problem, the Dr looked at the mole, said it wasn't an issue and did nothing further, did not look at any other part of my skin. I didn't think that spending my time in an office was justified because of over booking and doctors running behind. Especially hearing from a patient that had waited 45 mins. to be seen. My time and schedule is just as important as the doctors. I do want to say this was my second visit there and last. Arriving early for my appt,, I was not greeted by the staff nor did they go out of their way to smile and help me after having to ask the two of them...who was helping me? They just starred at me. After patiently waiting 35 mins after my appt time, I approached the counter and standing there for minutes, the receptionist turned around and helped me. Telling me they were running late and that I was next. After sitting down and waiting another 5 mins. I decided to read their reviews and it wasn't good! I approached the counter once again and the same lady was busy and I felt ignored....so, I left! They did call me after 20 mins of leaving which at that time they called me back. Totally a 55 mins late. No, thank you..... I will look for another office. I have been in Customer Service for over 25 years and you don't treat people like this. Smile and be kind! I've been going here for years and every experience has always been disappointing. The wait times are insane. If you have an appointment at 9, you won't actually be seen by your doctor until 9:45/10. The front desk staff always seems so inconvenienced when you walk in to check in or call to make an appointment. Not to mention a bit clueless on anything related to the practice other than appointment times. It's extremely frustrating that every time my pharmacist calls for refills they do not respond and the pharmacy ends up telling me to reach out myself. They are only open during the most inconvenient hours for anyone with a job... so I will not be returning. I've finally had enough. Way more expensive than a simple check up should be but I'm sure all derms are around $50 for them to look at you for a minute and say, "yep that's acne". I suppose that is just the nature of dermatology but I hope to find a better experience for my skin and someone who respects my time. read more
