We were the first roof of the season and were very pleased with the crew that came. They removed two layers of shingles, and installed a quality Owen Corning system including the ridge vents and clean up work all the same day. When they left you could not even tell they were here except for a few marks where the ground was soft which no one could of avoided. They have the greatest lady on clean up that removed every last little piece of debris. Another really impressive way they do business was they did not even require any deposit! I found this very unusual on a construction project not to at least require something for the material purchase, but payment at once in full after satisfaction seems to be their forte. I have worked part of my life in machine shops, doing quality control with tolerances in the microns and also have built 4 homes myself with the exception of HVAC and masonry. I would of done this roof myself but my knees and age did not let me. Really am glad I found R E Kuba and I have already left several other friends know who to go for when they need a job done.

The first decent day the crew was here and got the first half completely done, including adding a base of plywood which was needed due to the poor quality of the old roof. The next good day that was available they were back out, finished the job completely, and the roof looks wonderful. They cleaned up completely, took pictures as needed for the appraisers to review, if needed. I highly recommend this group. The fireplace insert is in a huge stone fireplace and it puts out enough hot air to keep the whole place toasty. The old gas fireplace stove had been running sporadically. Mike came out to do a regular cleaning/service/safety check. He took the whole stove apart, cleaned all the parts and put em back together. This took over 2 hours and was included in the basic annual service charge. He even vacuumed the exterior of the fireplace, stove and hearth - that really please my wife. And, more importantly, very little information concerning chimney condition and integrity of interior lining. Received proposal to Replace chimney Crown, Flashing, power wash and seal bricks. Estimated at a little over $4,000. The Technician that came to my home was polite and professional. I did watch as they worked -- cleaning fireplace, did not see them inspect interior of Chimney. Technician also showed me random photos from internet of Chimney stack (above roof) tops to explain issues with "crown" but did not show me pictures of my chimney. Then he went to truck and returned with tablet (ipad?) to have me sign and pay inspection bill. Said I would receive inspection report and a proposal for recommended work via e-mail. Received our quote next day with recommendation. Going to try trench-less repair and worse case scenario. Had to wait till Monday for local/state to come and mark the property for digging protocol. Tuesday they were here early AM. Found kinks in line, can't run the trench-less. Worse case scenario. By the afternoon, water back on. The digging only left a small imprint on the lawn. Many years ago I worked for a plumbing company so I knew right off the bat this would be thousands to repair. With my go to (Ranck's Plumbing) no longer in business I had no choice but to seek a new plumber, one that had a sewer camera, and could come right away. An online search of plumbers with cameras yielded very few results in my area. I called a few and left messages. Ober's was a company I found on Yelp for having good & honest reviews and they were local which was a huge plus. I took a chance on them having a camera and was thankful that they did. Jerry, the owner was awesome! He even came to my house for a free consult to make sure he could run the camera before he sent his crew over - that was much appreciated! My house is almost 100 years old so there was some fear of the unknown. At the free consult he spent a considerable amount of time exploring possible scenarios and discussing options. Jerry is very hands on and explains things in a way you can understand without judgement. Once he determined the camera could be ran I provided the key and returned to work. Jerry and his crew did the rest. Within hours I had a verbal quote. Was it expensive? Yes, spending a few thousand for something you can't see is alot of money, but sewer is a necessity. Although I don't have anything to compare it to other than my experience in this field many years ago I do feel his price was fair and most likely considerably less than what larger firms would charge for the same scale of work. I especially liked that Jerry understood that I wanted the least invasive option available and was sensitive to my request not rip out my newer kitchen to gain access. To save money hubby did some of the demo with Jerry's instruction. Since we're talking about a considerable amount of money I didn't feel comfortable with a verbal quote alone. However once I requested one in writing Jerry provided one the next day in great detail. The work took a few days to complete, and a few days till they could start due to some issues with our insurance adjuster. During that time-period Jerry was always accessible, answered all of our questions, and took our many phone calls without issue or attitude. Once the insurance adjuster was out of the way he was prompt to get us on the schedule so we could have use of our facilities again. The work was completed as promised and my house was left in satisfactory condition. While they did comply with my request to lock up daily, a light was left on the first day. So why 4 stars instead of 5? I always feel a little uncomfortable asking for something that I feel should be standard (in this case a written quote). They do things old school so they couldn't email the quote but were able to fax it. The price of running the camera is expensive and it's standard procedure to record the process to show the homeowner exactly what the problem is. While they do have the camera they don't use the video and didn't relay this to me until I asked. While I'm so thankful for Jerry and his team and to have this experience in my rear view window I would/will use Ober's again and would happily recommend him to anyone seeking an honest, fair, local, knowledge plumber.

It apparently wasn't getting pumped to the sand mount. I had Young's Septic come in. They diagnosed the issue as a broken pump. They drained the tank, charging me about $350 (fair price), and then gave me an estimate for $2100 for a new pump. I thanked their tech, Randy, and told him that I wanted to get a couple of estimates first. He had a look in his eyes of surprise, and then told me that the tank will fill up very quickly, so I should plan to stay at a hotel. Seemed a little pushy, since I was going to immediately call others to check on the pricing for the new Here are the prices I found along with a description of the job: -0.5 HP Gold's brand pump / 120 volt -Single man job -Not "confined space" job, i.e. the person can reach into the tank and doesn't need to climb in, which requires 2 men, and a confined space meter to check for toxic gas. Dillsburg septic - $1400 - $1800 Young's - $2100 Stinky Finky (R E Fink & Sons) - $1090 Walter's - $1095 - $2000 I called Young's back and gave them an opportunity to match the price or at least get closer to it, and was told that the owner would call me back. He never did. Brandt at R E Fink wasn't only the lowest price, but told me he could make it out the next morning. Sold. After opening up our tank, Brandt's tech, Jack reported back to him, and Brandt called me with good news. He said that the only problem with my pump is that the floater is broken. It was going to cost me less than $300! He also said that my pump was only 0.3 HP, and not 0.5 as Young's had stated. I told Brandt that I needed a new pump and we agreed on $1090, but he had the morality to report back that I didn't need a new pump, and accepted much less money in return for his honesty. Brandt is a stand-up guy, and R E Fink is a stand-up company. R E Fink & Sons will be my ONLY septic company from here on out, and I will recommend them to everyone. Hopefully, you read this and don't look further than them. They deserve your business and will give you an honest diagnosis and a fair price. UPDATED: I wrote the review while they were finishing up. (Owner) to reply to my post & I did exactly as he suggested. I responded to the e-mail address he provided copying the General Manager and asking he be provided a copy as well. I outlined the 9 times I contacted Stronghold since April 1,2024 asking for a quote & appointment to repair my floor. I even provided my contact info and my Stronghold identifier SR-CSR-374 so they can locate my service request. Now 12 days later since my last request, still no response. I was really hopeful I would hear from somebody. I guess I was right, business is just too good; they either don't have time or don't care to address repairs. I'm truly disappointed as I've recommended them on numerous occasions, handing out their business cards to several prospective customers.

He actually gave a pretty reasonable quote with out apron wall. My issue is he told me that they don't really do apron walls and he discouraged me against them. My apron walls were pretty standard at about 8 incs. So I decided to call a competitor for a quote with the stem wall included and i mentioned to him that i've got a quotes and the company said they wouldn't do them. He assured me that they would do them and asked if the company was stronghold? The competitor said he had two other clients that went with his company because stronghold refused to do the apron walls. Just seems to me that a company that is so well established would offer this service, and want to please the customer. I also think it is worth wild to note that 3 possible clients will go with competitors because Steve doesn't want to do the apron walls, doesn't seem like it worth loosing business over. I also gave Steve a call back to ask about including the apron walls. Part of me wanted to give him a chance before i wrote this review. I asked if i prep them would they do them and he said he would have to add square footage on the job, but again tried to talk me out of it and told me other businesses would do it for me with out any problems. I said i will take my business to another company and he said fine. Sounds to me like he didn't care about my business or the companies reputation. My suggestion is to go with a company that will give you the service that they offer and you want to pay for, and not what STEVE wants.
