PMI recently acquired Moxie Management. I will add my review of Moxie under this since most of…read moreMoxie's staff transferred to PMI. Moxie was in the process of attempting an eviction because the landlord didn't like the fact that we went to the health department with some legitimate complaints in regards to repairs and such that were declined by the landlord. We made sure to let PMI know this was a retaliation case and provided evidence. They still proceeded with the eviction and lost. There has been zero communication with PMI since. All complaints have still not been addressed. According to these comments I have read, they love the landlords and investors because that's where they get their money. Stay weary if you are a tenant. You do not matter to them. Moxie Review Update: PMI southeast purchased Moxie, went ahead with an eviction and lost. Backstory: when we moved into our apartment, we paid $1050 because it was not in the best shape. The bedroom doors upstairs broken, closet doors unattached, cracks in the tile, holes in the ceiling and wall my fiancee patched up, broken blinds, stains and cracks on the walls and floors, ets We cleaned and fixed what we could without breaking the bank, as part of the deal for getting it cheaper was we rented it "as is". Landlord sold the building to new guy. After a couple years, new guy hires moxie management. Now, we can talk about Moxie. We have already paid a non-refundable pet screening fee ($250) with the original landlord. Since Moxie stepped in, they want us to pay ANOTHER pet screening fee ($30/pet). They require a bogus resident benefits package, which holds absolutely no value to us considering we pay rental insurance yearly, not monthly. When stating that we don't need that they said it is required for their people to verify we have insurance every month. Well, we can give the proof once a year. There is no need to check every month when it is paid in full, therefore it is truly a junk fee to just collect more money from rentors. The junk fees have to go. Disabled people, especially veterans, should be exempt from their scams. The rent is being increased again to make it comparable to other apartments in the area, however as stated in the backstory, one could imagine our unit is in fact NOT comparable to others in the area.

From day one, Jason has been straight-forward, hard-working, and absolutely committed to us achieving OUR goals with the rental property. His staff, especially Ed (who is such a great guy), are similarly focused on customer satisfaction -- both the renters as well as the property owners. PMI took great care of our home which was especially important since we were out of the area and sometimes gone for months at a time. We have now decided to move to the area full-time and have taken the property off the rental market but we cannot recommend PMI more highly.

If I could give negative stars, I would. This management company, has clearly got to be the…read moreabsolute worse PM in the entire state of CT, if not the entire country. Dealing with their continuous incompetence has forced me to sell my property due in part by the neighborhood going down the toilet after my acquisition and their inept approach at managing my property. If you don't mind going through the following, then please do hire them: 1) Failing to tell a tenant to open his own electricity bill while leaving it under my LLC, forcing me to pay $2177.17 for his usage. 2) Accumulating $1812.96 of electricity charges for an empty apartment. The usage mysteriously spiked on its own to over 3000 kwts in the winter. It takes a person living in there to cause this spike. They later tried to blame Eversource which took the meter to a lab because they claimed it was faulty. It was NEVER faulty. It came back with an accurate reading. 3) Charging me a flat fee regardless of the units filled, instead of the 9% from incoming rent as stated in the agreement. 4) Intercepting a check for a tenant and taking $300 from it and not telling me about it, hoping I wouldn't notice the lower rent. 5) They paid $812.96 to a collection agency with my money with no explanation given for what it was. No receipt. 0 communication 6) The security deposits that were transferred back to me to pass on to the new owner were put into the portal causing charges to eat away at them. I had to use my own money to replace them. 7) When I announced I was putting the building up for sale, only one out of 4 tenants paid their rents. The others suddenly stopped paying. Did they pay Revolution directly pocketing my money? Remains the question. Tom Kopchick, the owner, supposedly took over this company from the Faraci's but knows absolutely nothing about how to manage properties. He instead got upset because I didn't fix things often so that he can make his money. He's the kind that would take a sledge hammer to a wall and blame it on the tenant just so he could make money off of the repair. He quoted me $15K to fix my driveway which he destroyed with his plow, when other quotes came in at roughly half the price. Most other PMs mark up their repairs at 10%. He marks them up much higher and provides "descriptions" but no actual receipts from the supplier. They select which emails and texts they'll answer, while ignoring others. They'll say, I'll handle it or I'll take care of it and you never hear from them ever again. He has no clue who he hires. He assigned Jennifer Talley to manage my property. A disgustingly rude person who slept with another client's tenant and spends more time on her nails than doing her effing job. She stuck her friend in my apartment and because they had a fight, the woman stopped paying rent. She lived for 7 months for free in my apartment because it took an unusually long amount of time to evict her while it took a lot less with others. She ended up abandoning the building and never paying a dime. Tom claimed that govt programs would be more reliable, yet kept me waiting for several months because it took them forever to provide the funds. I finally had to tell him to just get anyone to fill the many vacant units because I was hemorrhaging money. I still had to pay the mortgage out of my own pocket to keep from defaulting on my loan. I didn't get into real estate to run charities. I shouldn't have to choose between self managing my own building because property managers are all thieves. There are great ones out there, just not the one I came across. If you don't care about your property and don't mind paying the full mortgage for it while you run a charity with non-paying tenants, then by all means, please hire them. They will milk you dry
