I'm just happy that a gym with so much potential has a guy running it that isn't the the most egotistical clown show I've ever met with his friends that would comment on people lifting and make snide remarks about potential members while the owner does nothing about it. This is a no-frills, just come-in-and-lift type of gym. The monthly membership is incredibly reasonable. I have only talked with the owners via email and they have been great. I have met some of the patrons who are nice and friendly. Folks may seem a little hyper-focused, but that's because they are. They're here to do the work, but they're also happy to spot you or answer questions too, if you just ask. There's no Crossfit (sweet Mary, thank you!), or classes (workshops could be cool?!), etc. You come in and do the work. It's all on you. There are training opportunities which seem a little pricey. I might check them out though, because something tells me that a world-class lifter can probably teach me a thing or fifty. And his bill is going to be a lot cheaper than a hospital bill (shoulder surgery, hip surgery, etc.). read more

I worked out here for 2 months while I was in Denver. It is a fantastic facility, spacious, lots of parking. No matter if you are a powerlifter, oly lifter, strong man, crossfitter, or bodybuilder you will have the equipment you need to get in your training. Zero communication, zero customer service, and lets pretend that the patrons there actually all follow guidelines for Covid. I submitted the "cancel membership form" nearly two weeks (11 days I think) before I was supposed to be charged on Sep 28, 2020. I was then charged on Oct 28, 2020, after hearing nothing for over a month. I have now, since Oct 28, 2020, called a dozen times and left half a dozen messages, I have emailed both the website's main contact email and Seth over a week ago, I have visited the gym several times and been told " yea those guys are hard to reach" by fellow gym members. I just want my gym membership cancelled. I had issues from the start, I was never even able to speak with a person before having to pay a membership and actually just show up on a rostered time. read more

Simply put: Iron Warrior Gym is the best metal gym I've been to in Denver. The Good: 24/7/365 access; often I have the gym to myself (I lift at night); the owner, JJ, is a great help as well as exceptionally friendly; the gym is an iron addict's dream; I love the atmosphere - it's fraternal as well as stimulating to be better. The Bad (potentially): It's gritty and raw - don't expect a pristine Gold's Gym type. When it's summer, it's warm - when it's winter, it's cold inside. Personally, I love the honest nature of this gym - I've had the best lifts of my bodybuilding career here. I've heard (or read, rather) people complain about it being dirty and unorganized - I would argue with this impression. Iron Warrior Gym is a gym for people seeking this box-gym experience; it's for power lifters, bodybuilders, crossfit-ers, and those seeking to break ahead of the 24 Hour Gym pack. I'm completely content with my experience here, and would recommend it to anyone within a 20 minute drive. Trust me, it's worth it. I left Armbrust Pro Gym (10/10 gym - Phil Heath's home gym) for Iron Warrior, and I haven't looked back. This gym is great for any lifter because of their variety of different bars, squat racks and platforms. It's a very gritty gym and I don't think it's cleaned much so if you're one of those clean freaks this gym is not for you. The only reason I give it four stars is because they lack greatly in their machines. After I get done with my main lifts and top accessory work I like to break my body off on iso machines and I know I'm not the only one with this problem. read more

The owners are always easy to reach out to and everyone is friendly if you ever need help or want to chat while there. Awesome lifting gym! Good price, 24/7 access. Enough racks and benches to actually use, great bumper plates and platforms! They have cool strongman stuff too, like yokes, atlas stones, farmer's walk bars. Strongly recommended if you're following any strength training program, such as Starting Strength, StrongLifts, 5/3/1, etc. Power lifter's ideal gym. The only negative is the location, but it's not bad if you live anywhere along the west/central side. I live in West Colfax, and it's only a 5min drive. My husband and I started going to this gym a few years ago when we wanted to get back into lifting. It's the perfect gym if you're looking for a no-frillls gym that has plenty of racks, platforms and strongman equipment. The first day, I remember sitting in my car for close to 20 minutes before I worked up enough courage to go inside. I was so afraid of judgment and "gym bro's". Instead I was met with friendly faces. Everyone there was respectful and focused. Nothing drives you more than to surround yourself with people who are stronger than you and that's exactly what we did. You won't find people standing around the water cooler chit-chatting here, everyone is focused on their training. Often at gyms, women are intimidated to work out.. and I was too at first! But let me tell you, in the 3 years Ive been lifting here, I have NEVER felt disrespected or ogled. I've never been mansplained to or made to feel like my time in a rack wasn't equal. I highly recommend this gym to anyone who wants to get stronger. That was 3 years and 60 pounds ago. read more

While visiting Denver I got a chance to check out this hardcore gym to get some strongman event training in on vacation. I love the no BS atmosphere. They have a large variety of equipment that many other gyms don't. I love that there are so many kegs! Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is there is no drinking fountain, so once my water bottle was empty, I had to call it a day... i felt right at home at Iron Warrior Gym with chalk on the bars and music in the speakers. it is a true powerlifter a dream gym. there was an underlying respect of each person there to do their own training. but also a sense of camaraderie that each person is one their way to being more of a bada$$. this isn't your typical gym. don't expect towel service or cardio equipment for the bunnies. this is for real lifters, who have real stuff to get done. as a former Colorado resident, i was in town for a visit last week, and now i wish i could train at a facility like IWG more often. JJ was really easy to get ahold of to get in to the gym. i will definitely be using this facility to train whenever i am back in Denver! read more

Iron Warrior Gym is not your typical gym and neither are its members. I came to IWG because the gym I was going to didn't have the atmosphere, membership and equipment I wanted. The place is a little dirty, there is chalk on the bars, the weights are heavy, the music is loud, and the people are there to lift! Everyone is super helpful and knowledgable. I had read about Iron Warrior online and really wanted to check it out, but I live on the other end of town and never really had the opportunity...until the other day. If you like to lift heavy ass weight, and DGAF about being pampered, tanning, fresh towels in the locker room, clean mirrors to take selfies in, or lemon water, then this is the gym for you. It has all of the equipment you could ever possibly ask for, and then some. The atmosphere is just what any serious lifter would want. I love that they have a key code so members can access the gym 24/7 (but make sure to call ahead if you're not a member, or you won't be able to get in!). Everybody was super friendly and nice, and I really enjoyed lifting there. I hope to make it back in the future! read more

Great gym! Stopped by while visiting DENVER from out of town and immediately felt right at home. I had block cleans, rack jerks, and front squats on the agenda, and this gym had just the right equipment to suit me: an Eleiko bar, bumpers, and a platform (they actually have several). I started coming here to work with coach Garet. I followed coach Garet here from his previous gym and I love this gym way more than the other place he was at! The gym has everything I need to accomplish my goals! The people who come here are friendly and love to lift! I seem to see the same people in here everyday and I like that, like a small family :) Owners are crazy lifters and also see them training a few people. Laid back atmosphere and music is always playing to get you pumped up! I would recommend coming by to check this place out! I've been going to this gym for over a month. I really enjoy it a lot! They have everything you need for weightlifting. Plenty of squat racks and deadlift platforms. The gym is clean and well taken care of. It is a relaxed atmosphere, you can play your own music on the radio/iPhone connecter. Everyone is respectful and puts their weights away and cleans up after themselves. The owner is very kind, if you have any questions or need anything he is fast to respond. This gym is very well equipped for both power lifting and olympic weight lifting. There are enough accessory machines that you could easily train as a body builder; although that's not the target audience of the gym. The owner was very accommodating and the general atmosphere of the gym was positive. If I was staying in Denver permanently, I would make this my regular gym. This has been the single best gym I've ever been to. Over time I've been a member of most of the expensive clubs in Denver. They can be nice places to workout and spend time in. But the atmosphere and equipment here are about getting stronger. And that's what I have done. When you see a group of men and women working their hardest at the hardest lifts, I think your attitude and effort fall in line. They have five squat racks! Several Olympic weight lifting platforms with squat stands. There is no excuse not to do the heavy lifts you know you should be focusing on. By the way, it is just a few minutes bike ride off of the Platte River bike trail. It's easy to get here on bike and get your warm up in that way. read more
