They operate many excellent programs around Palm Beach County including Glades Family Education, Village Readers, and Workplace / Community Education. Improving literacy helps improve the lives of Palm Beach County residents. It helps build future leaders. The Coalition's efforts are worth researching to understand what they do and how you can help as a volunteer, tutor or donor. You will not be disappointed. We continue to help 64,464 adults, children, youth and families through our programs to acquire literacy skills to be successful in school and in life. Community members support literacy by volunteering as reading tutors, making donations, organizing book drives, attending literacy events and participating in literacy initiatives such as the "Read for the Record" and "Read Together Palm Beach County" campaign, an one book, one community initiative.

In addition, she was 100% dependable and showed up rain or shine. All of her lessons were carefully thought out and she developed a quick and beautiful report with my daughter. They became fast friends and delighted in sharing every morning together. Ms. Toni knows how to cater her lessons to each child's needs and makes learning fun and exciting for them. Brianna Sutton was a tutor for both my sons. She cancelled #1 appointment 38 mins before it was…read morescheduled. When #2 appointment rolled around she was very rude during their meet and greet hour and kept speaking over my son, not allowing him to speak. I tried a couple of times to tell her what he was saying and she began to silence me by telling me that she can only take answers from the child. To which I advised, I'm only saying exactly what he was trying to tell her. She proceeded to tell me that her volume is all the way up and she hears me clearly, so... It got to the point where my son stop answering her with his words and began using hand signals. During their meet and greet she revealed that she had been a elementary teacher for 8yrs -i cannot understand how. My 9yr old son, who is a people's person with an outdoor personality was very unengaged. She did not capture him in the slightest. She was more interested in using the 45mins they had together to tell him of her trips to Latin America with her family and her love for making music, then to to figure out how to capture my son's attention and keep him engaged. My goodness -I can go on and on about how badly the lesson went. Can you believe this woman began the lesson by yawning and telling my child she was feeling tired from staying up too late the night before RIGHT AFTER my child told her he was feeling EXCITING about starting tutoring. Then she had the audacity to cancel all future appointments with my child at the beginning of their next appointment with NO notice. The experience with this company has been extremely disappointing and unprofessional.

They are flexible and they do their best to meet your scheduling needs when you are not able to keep a set schedule (which should make sense for most but we have found ourselves between a rock and a hard place, with work and our son's school schedule). We have found it difficult to set a specific schedule for the sessions but despite of that, they have always come through for us. We cannot say enough good things about them and we are absolutely grateful to be able to rely on their support. We highly recommend The Sunshine Method!
