Her phone text tone went off a few times while my session was going. I could hear loud talking in the hallway and at one point my masseuse was called out of the room. I think she left the room approximately 4 times during my massage and never covered me up. She sat on my butt w/ a towel in between to do a portion of the massage. There are so many more horrible things about this appointment but these are the main points. Oh and lastly the Groupon included a "hot stone" portion which was never done. Do not go here!

I came to IRC/Dr. Manney after one visit to a new neck/back doctor suggested injections then surgery for cervical radiculopathy caused by degenerative disc disease. When I asked about PT, my doctor said I could try it but it wouldn't work and surgery was the ultimate route to relief. The MRI's showed only mild stenosis and my personal research showed that extensive/extended physical therapy could work and should be the first conservative approach. I did EXTENSIVE research on what type of doctor [MD vs Ortho vs Chiropractor]; which PT group, etc. I called and/or went to several doctor's offices. My objective was to establish a patient relationship with a doctor who would support me in a conservative health approach and avoid surgery. Dr. Manney's office was the only that returned my call. I went there for 2 years before I moved to Naples, Florida. Oh how I wish Dr. Manney was here in SW Florida! There's nothing like his office here. NOTHING! read more

Typically I've found that chiropractors tend to be either very skilled or horribly inept; therefore, when I find one that actually helps me I am very, very glad. My doctor referred me to Dr. Manney for an SI-joint adjustment, and as this was a condition that typically laid me out for 2-3 weeks I was absolutely AMAZED to find myself better in only one week. Dr. Manney is the only chiropractor that I have allowed to manually adjust my neck in years; I trust him, and I don't give such trust lightly when it comes to spinal manipulation. I will never go anywhere else for adjustments while I live in the Chicago area. HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended. read more

So, today it is possible for me to update this review for Dr. Hubert Mei. I had an appointment today. My right upper arm and shoulder have been bothering me along with my low back. Dr. Hubert's storefront office adjoins Harmony Natural Health (469 W. 31st St.) . His parents operate Harmony. His mom, Dr. Mei Ling is a acupuncturist and naprapath. See his dad about the various herbs and remedies at the front of the Harmony storefront. I mention Harmony, because on the days that Harmony is open, you enter that storefront to access Dr. Hubert's office. When Harmony is closed - - usually on Tuesdays and Thursdays - - you enter thru Dr. Hubert's storefront door. Today, I happened to enter thru the Harmony side and I signed in at the little stand that is to the left as you enter. The entrance to Dr. Hubert's is just a bit past the sign-in stand - -again to your left. Well, my last review still stands--this office is still 5 Stars! I was pleasantly greeted by Phyllis, who showed me to one of the rooms. Dr. Hubert came in and after assessing my situation, turned the appropriate spots on my body into a pin cushion with the acupuncture needles. About 20 minutes later, Phyllis removed the needles, attached the pads of the machine that stimulates the muscles and put some heat pads on my shoulders and back. 15 minutes later, I was ready for Dr. Hubert to put his great chiropractic skills to work. And shortly after that, I was on my merry way and feeling much better! Although it is no fun being in pain, I actually enjoy coming here. Dr. Hubert is not only a skilled acupuncturist and chiropractor but also just a really great guy. If you decide to come here, don't waste any time being anxious about meeting with a new doctor. Believe me, you will feel very comfortable with Dr. Hubert Mei. Although they were not here today, his other assistants Amelia and Vicki are also very nice and helpful. As I mentioned in my first review, you can also make an appointment with Phyllis on certain days. She is a massage therapists and has healing skills of her own to offer. Street parking is usually pretty convenient. During White Sox games, you can come in and pick up a permit if you need to park in a spot that requires one. Once again - - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

It looks like due to the heavy lifting I pinched some muscles and nerves possibly, but in the hours following my visit, much of that has been relieved. When I see him for an ailment, typically felt when weightlifting, he immediately has an idea of the root cause (it helps that he's a powerlifter) and quickly validates in a few minutes. He adjusts and provides the mobility exercises to do on my own and within a few weeks, I'm feeling great! I only see him a few times per year, when something is off. I go for a few weeks (and do my mobility work on my own) and we're done. He doesn't make me visit him weekly, etc. which I found with others. No weekly adjustments, at least for me. He tells me what to work on at home for mobility. Just come in whenever something is off and he'll fix you. On top of his knowledge and professionalism, he makes each session enjoyable and engaging through humor, compassion and conviction. Paul is committed to helping me get better quickly and I can feel that when working with him. I couldn't recommend anyone better.
