My younger sister moved from her apartment in Feb 2024, she gets a call from this JOKE of a company and literally all they did was bully her! Marquis was the first person and he was sooooo rude and hung up in her face. Selena was next and probably the worst one of the bunch! Got a phone call asking if it was me, I never confirmed it was me then they started on their thing about how much I owe. The man laughed at me when I said we don't have income until the 2nd and he said "well you're gonna have to figure something out" as he chuckled. The most unprofessional debt collection agency I have ever experienced!!!! As a debt professional myself, I was appalled at the demeanor of the agents at this company. Their website says "our goal is to assist past residents in resolving their debt in a fair, courteous and understanding manner. It is important that we protect consumer's rights and provide them with easy payment options." My husband and I did not receive fair, courteous nor understanding service and there are no payment options. It's either all or nothing. Even the supervisor, Marcel Davis, appeared to be nice at first but by the end of the conversation displayed the same nasty, condescending behavior. We all understand their job is to collect a debt but not offering payment options or arrangements is a bad practice and will hinder the debt collection process. When I requested to have an invoice sent to me via email, he claimed that he could not grant my request but can tell me over the phone questions about my invoice. I explained that I do not know him or feel he is trustworthy to rely such information. He became very rude, speaking over me and threatening. I applied to one of JRK's apartment complexes 6.26.21, was given a move in date of 6.29, which then got switched to 7.03.21 after my application was approved. I tried to contact the apartment about move in dates, pricing, etc. they never replied. I left multiple emails and voicemails with no response to the point where I had to go into their office after I got off work to find out what was happening. The guy there let me know what the charges would be but that they didn't do weekend move-ins and that our apartment wouldn't be ready till after 7.5.21. Due to needing a new apartment before this date we had to go elsewhere and cancel our application. It's sad that we were given an incorrect move-in date from the beginning (we wouldn't have applied if we had known) & that we lost a $300 holding deposit. I understand we can't get that back & it's fine, however my boyfriend and I are now getting calls from this debt collector for an apartment we never signed the lease on, nor lived in. We cancelled our application and the debt collector said we lived there and signed a lease. I reached out to the apartment and a nice girl talked to me about the problem. She sounded confused about the situation. She didn't know why we were marked as past tenants as we only ever submitted an application. She said she would call me back after talking to upper management to resolve the issue. In the email about cancelling our application, we were told we would not receive our holding fee back. There was no mention of having to pay an additional $1450 for cancelling our application. I tried to explain this to the representatives that called me, but they cut me off, told me I was wrong, and that I legally was obligated to pay them. I told them I was getting in touch with my lawyer and they requested his info, which I refused to give them, as he's a family friend, and is instructing me free of charge. This company lied to my boyfriend and told him if we didn't pay now they would contact our employer, garnish our wages, and take from our 401K, which is completely illegal to threaten. They refused to give me any documentation on the "apparent charges" I owe and kept calling after I told them I refused to pay them at this time. The company JRK Property Management they work with has multiple lawsuits against them (go look it up) and even more complaints from people who had the displeasure of having to deal with them. Every person who called me from IQ was rude, condescending, raised their voices when I didn't comply, and refused to listen to the truth. Our experience with this company: They Scam, harassment and fraudulent activity against the consumer: Our daughter moved into her first apartment with a roommate when the roommate decided to move her boyfriend in without permission from the apartment complex this created an issue for my daughter. So the roommate and my daughter agreed that my daughter would get signed off the lease and the remaining roommate would become solely responsible for the remainder of the lease. This took place and the document was turned in to the office along with the keys from my daughter We took videos and photos of the apartments as we left. The remaining roommate and her boyfriend stayed in the apartments for quite a few months longer and when moving out left it dirty When that roommate did not pay the apartment complex they decided to try to collect from my daughter that was released from the lease. This was then turned over IQ Data which was made aware all of the documents of my daughter being signed off and was shown photos all of the apartments. IQ Data refused to remove this from my daughter's credit which was hindering her from getting a new apartments 2 years later. So then my husband her father and my pregnant daughter called and they decided to go ahead and pay the bill that wasn't hers to begin with just so she can get in her apartment. This conversation and the payment was witnessed with multiple people on the phone lines as well as it was a recorded line. We asked IQ Data for proof of payment and removal of this item off her credit and we needed a receipt for the payments made on behalf of my daughter on our credit card. I'm assuming the apartment complex and IQ data do this so then they can continue to fraud the innocent party. Why because they know the other girl is irresponsible and never going to pay her debt and they come after the people that they know will be responsible! To me this looks to be a criminal act of harassment and a fraud against my daughter ,my husband myself and our credit card company! The receipt we received was in the other roommates name 100% ( see attached photos) giving her credit for our payment showing that she was the sole responsibility of this debt which they emailed this receipt to my daughter with the address and name of this other girl! Which inconclusion means that my daughter payment was not credited and this collection was not removed from her credit instead they admitted with their own email and their own documents that she was not responsible for this bill! And what I'm requesting is that it be removed 100% from her credit as an error on their part. And 100% of that payment be credited back to my husband's credit card To me this looks to be a criminal act of harassment and a fraud now against my daughter my husband myself and our credit card company! We have spoke with record of emailed and complete documentation of contact with operations manager Erica, agents Isaac Shannon Carly Dominic Jessie ,manager Randy and the compliance Department. Nothing is being handled. I've went on the Better Business Bureau and read complaints of such Behavior by this company that when you pay with a credit card or your debit card they will then take their money out then come back later and literally deduct money or charge your account with more withdrawals without your permission I have also read that if you pay with a cashier's check or money order they will say you didn't pay and come back after you later!
