I keep seeing the word "scam" thrown around a lot. Aside from how you're being spoken to I just want to say, IQData isn't scamming anyone. The accounts are sent to them by the property management company. If you went into the office and they told you that you owe nothing it's because you don't owe them, you owe the collection company being hired to handle the debt. Also, they don't buy the debt they are hired to collect so if you're wondering why they don't settle easy like the other places..that's why. By saying this is a scam company you're keeping people from paying their debt and ruining THEIR credit. And if you're disputing something through the credit bureaus and it gets put back on your credit or they continue calling you? It's because the property validated that debt. If I could award NEGATIVE stars, I absolutely would. I completely understand that everyone with a job ... has a job to do. I have worked in the banking industry where we had a collections team so I am well aware of how they operate. HOWEVER, when I tell you that these employees take disrespect to an entirely new level ... I have NEVER been spoken to the way I was on November 13. I had simply called to see if there was any way they could work with me for a lesser payment. I was told no and that my only option was to stop the payments but that would not stop my account from further collection activity. When I asked what that meant, I was not answered. I was then transferred to a man without any explanation. I explained to this man KIRKPATRICK that I needed the additional funds for some car issues. He proceeded to ask me what year my car was and then told me that my warranty should cover the work that was needed. He told me in such an abusive manner that neither he or APRIL believe anything I was saying. He ACTUALLY recommended that I reach out and ask my car loan if I can defer a payment so I said you know what since you don't believe me I will. I called my car company out of good faith and I indeed could not defer my payment. I called IQ Data back and said I wanted to make a statement on the recorded line and also told them I was recording them for my records. I told them that the way they speak to people is UNFATHOMABLE. He was sarcastic, condescending, and verbally abusive to me while I was trying to resolve a collection matter. I also told them I did not have an active credit card to give them and he told me to give him any card number so I had one on my nightstand they found in my wrecked car that was years old and cancelled but the tow company did find it in the car u see the seat and had it delivered to me and is why I had quick access to it. I said it twice I was on high doses of pain meds and he still pushed me aggressively and I also told him multiple times that u til I could talk to my b/f and ask if he will pay it on his that they needed a card it did not matter to them it was cancelled 4 or 5 years ago. He thought that having that card on file makes it a legit collection action. It is not legal as I told him the card was no good and this card was cancelled a long time ago and he said yes he knows but to still give him the number. I recorded the conversation because my phone was on speaker and I told them it was recorded on my security indoor surveillance cameras since on speaker it picked up every word... My atty helping me through my current disability situation and he told me it is illegal they speak asking me to agree to any financial agreement knowing I was impaired. After sending them evidence of my "debt" being false, another man said "Well you'll still have to pay it, I don't care if you don't want to". Ia data international as a collection company contacted us a few days ago by mail. We immediately called to dispute the charge. My partner came off the phone in tears and said they treated like garbage. We have several disputes on the fees but since I have the letter with the amount that says 'if you write to us by ###### we must stop collection. Giving the impression that they are not adding dollars to the bill daily. No where in the letter is there a number to pay by phone. On the back of the letter it states clearly ' if you pay the amount shown in this letter, an adjustment may be necessary after we receive your payment' They want you to pay by check in the mail so they can re assess interest for the mail time and bill you again. How is that possibly legal? The letter states .016.00 per annum percentage rate. my 4000 dollar bill had over 70 dollars added in one week which is considerably more than that. the latter states 'other charges that may vary day to day' no detail of any of these charges is given and they will be assessed daily if you dare to even question them. How is any of this legal. Somebody please file against this clearly evil company. read more

I co-signed a lease for my brother in 2017. He resided in that apartment for three years with no issue. He moved from that unit to a larger one in the same complex in 2021. At that time, I was no longer a co-signer on his lease. He was not asked to pay any remaining balance on the first unit when he switched apartments or during the additional year he resided in the complex. Yet, I received a call from this creditor about a $437 debt from the first unit. If this is a valid debt, I am willing to pay it fully, but I want verification. During the call, I requested verfication via fax or email, so I can address this quickly or simply that they read me the description of the debt. I was dissauded from asking questions and yelled at for making this a lengthy conversation and I kept being put on hold repeatedly and then told the same thing to just pay the debt now and they'd delete it and they didn't have time for a lengthy call. I didn't need a lengthy call, just tell me what the debt is, why I wasn't notified, why my brother wasn't notified, and we can go from there. I suspect their unwillingess to provide an explanation is because it is not a real debt and they know if we look at payments, we will dispute the accuracy. I paid in full almost a year ago and it is still on my credit report as "Closed" I just recently submitted a "Dispute" with TransUnion and it was finally processed and removed this month. I am "Disputing" and submitting these requests my self with the other credit bureaus. I did contact IQ Data International and was basically told to submit these reports myself even though the amount I paid was higher than what I owed for my broken lease, I justified the fee because I was guaranteed that they would submit these requests themselves in order to remove this from my credit report if paid in full. Now, I was never notified by my apartment complex or their management company that I owed them something. Nor was I EVER notified that I was sent to collections. This company NEVER contacted me. They say they have a log that they did but I never got a voicemail, text, letter in the mail... nothing. I don't answer numbers I don't know. If it's important, I expect them to leave a voicemail. I think this is something you should probably leave a voicemail about. The ONLY reason I found out I was sent to collections is because I went to check my credit score. It showed that I had a derogatory mark. From there I had to get a credit report... and there is was. That I owed them money from over a year ago. Yet was never contacted about it. I will say, the lady I talked on the phone with was very nice and gave me all the information I needed. Come to find out months later without any notification or warning that we had an adverse event reported on our credit. Contacted them to resolve it and provide information, and they stalled, were rude to my wife, telling her to call back daily, and that there's nothing they can do about it. The manager I spoke to over the phone was extremely rude, raised his voice at me, talked in circles to me, and pressured me to pay the money same day (the first day I've ever heard about this debt) or threatened to wreck my credit score. Backstory: I got a surprise bill in the mail claiming I owed over $1,000 from an apartment I moved out from over 2 years ago. They wouldn't even tell me what the bill was for, and when I asked for the documentation they received from the apartment, they refused to show me. They wouldn't even tell me why I owed this debt. He expressed much attitude and seemed upset about the miscommunication of trying to get a hold of me. He has consistently been talking over me when im trying to get my point across. Although this is a legitimate debt collector. They are UNPROFESSIONAL and absolutely horrible to work with. HORRIBLE!!!!
