The immediate restrooms are availabe at the restaurants on the marina front. It's a ridiculous wait, so try to be patient. On a hot September afternoon, a minute wait can feel like an hour. Get past the tourist crowd right away if you can. We beelined for a caffeine fix before starting our hike to find a beach. Once adjusted, keep your eyes peeled for some nice view points.

Or it is depends on who you ask. It's a popular vacation spot for Italians there. Postcard beauty from any and everywhere! It's one of the islands you can go from Napoli. Smaller than other counterparts. Hilly. Not Easy to walk around but you can get here by boat! Take a boat to go to a restaurant. Some places will send you a boat to pick you up. It's quite charming, scenic, stunning and peaceful. Meat is the most expensive thing on the island since it's a fishing village/ town/ island. A small steak will run you about €80 but most fresh catches are €15-€20 euros. Shellfish, Mediterranean fish! All kinds of fish! Even octopus salad here tastes better. Hot humid summer, very slow town, emerald hues everywhere! And that one clock tower! Amazing summer days are spent here! Come for a day or a week. And just enjoy. It's amazing. Oh and they filmed parts of Talented Mr Ripley here. They have signs on filming spots! Once you get here, you can identify all the scene in the movie! Hey, Jude law!

Tons of people were using an empty seat to seat their bags. Which caused quite a stir up for people that needed a seat. I noticed there was a coffee bar, but we didn't get anything. The ride to Capri was about an hour. I slept on the way back. It's air conditioned which is nice.

It was horrible. We were about tenth in line with an electronic ticket. Boarding started and the guy refused to scan our ticket. Made us wait for the entire line to fill up the ferry then sent us to the other ticket taker who had the scanner in his pocket the whole time. They tossed our luggage around like yesterday's garbage The inside of the boat was hot and quite uncomfortable. Crew all acted as if they'd never heard English in their life. The windows are so old and crusty you can't see anything out of them. And it seemed to have been oversold as several passengers were standing the whole time with all seats being occupied. Overall I'd highly recommend avoiding this ferry line. They get two stars as they managed to get departed on time. Everything else was a one star experience.

Caremar to the rescue!!…read more After all the ferries to Capri where preemptively canceled due to possible inclement weather and choppy seas, Caremar was the only ferry left standing (figuratively speaking)..partially because it is a very large ferry boat (not as affected by rocky waters) that transfers up to 400 passengers, luggage, and vehicles. After a 3 hour wait at the port, mixed with anxiety from uncertainty if the ferry would run, heavy luggage (sigh*) and a few glasses of Prosecco and wine, we made it unto the vessel. It was a rocky 20 min voyage..but we arrived safely and had plenty of seating choices due to the large area that was very clean. FYI: if you have any heavy luggage..you have to carry that bad boy up a set of stairs to the sitting area...the crew does not offer to help, or should I say, conveniently disappear when its time to embark and disembark. Special shoutout to the beautiful (and athletic) Italian woman in high wedges and cute white shorts, who helped a sista out...she put those crew members to shame lol. Anyway, we made it..and my new friends, who graciously offered for me to stay with them if the ferry canceled, gladly accompanied me to my hotel for a celebratory drink in Capri. yelp update: Actually, I learned on my return voyage that there's an area on the main (walk-in) level to stow luggage..but it would be out of sight during the ferry ride because the seating area is on the upper level, so its kinda at your your risk. But the chance of people stealing your heavy luggage (especially without being noticed) is slim to none. And 2 gracious crew members did help me with my luggage as I disembarked..so they do help!

If you are looking for an almost private boating experience, look no further. While a little more expensive than the other places lined up and down the beach, what made my mind up was that there would only be 10-12 people on our boat. The cost to Capril was $70 a person for the day and know that they bring towels and beverages so all you need to do is come prepared to enjoy a great day out on the water (wear your swim suit and you can swim right off the boat!) The boat leaves Positano around 9am on most days. They show you a range of sights along the way to Capri like the white grotto, the green grotto, the lighthouse, Villa Malaparte and you get off the boat at Marina Grande. You then have about 3 hours on the island before returning back to Positano. There is a stop both on the way there and on the way back to swim off the boat and enjoy the beautiful Mediterranean! A wonderful way to see the Amalfi Coast- this was one of my favorite days of my entire trip!
