My husband and I have been craving ramen, so we decided to try this place for the first time. The restaurant itself is very cute and cozy, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing. The service was okay but a bit slow. We ordered chicken ramen, spam musubi, yakisoba, a soda, and the Pinnacle lemonade. The lemonade was extremely sweet and honestly tasted like old, rotten pineapple. I sent it back and let the waitress know I just didn't like it and wouldn't be drinking it. An owner came over to ask about the lemonade. When we explained that it was just too sweet for us and tasted off, he repeatedly insisted that it's "very popular" and that "everybody loves it." He then told us it didn't taste rotten and implied we were wrong. The interaction felt dismissive and rude rather than helpful. As for the food: * The ramen was very bland and lacked flavor. * The yakisoba was extremely salty. We actually ended up mixing the yakisoba into the ramen to give it some flavor, and it was better that way. * The spam musubi tasted good, but unfortunately we found hair in it after we had already eaten most of it. My husband also ordered the tempura sampler, which according to the menu includes shrimp, popcorn chicken, calamari, onion, and potato. However, it also came with fried jalapeños, which were not listed on the menu. My husband bit into one unexpectedly, which wasn't pleasant since we weren't told they were included. After we left, neither of us felt well. We both became nauseous and had stomach pain shortly after eating. While we can't say for certain what caused it, it honestly felt like possible food poisoning, which made the whole experience even worse. Overall, while the restaurant has a cute atmosphere, the food quality, cleanliness concerns, and the way the owner handled feedback left a bad impression. I tried their Tonkatsu Ramen and it was pretty mediocre. I'm not sure what I was expecting but it came with a side of Katsu and cabbage salad which was good but the ramen itself was kinda bland. The noodles were cooked way too long and were too soft, almost like if you keep instant ramen noodles sitting for too long. The broth was not rich and more like soupy. They had an interesting teriyaki chicken roll...I've never ever seen that before. The price was more than expected for a small restaurant like this, I was kinda surprised. I think they had a set that came with california rolls and the teriyaki chicken roll for $14-16! The ramen was around $18-19 and I've had cheaper ramen in LB that's way better quality. Honestly I'm so glad this ramen opened a few blocks from our house! If I'm wanting ramen I don't have to go to Alhambra anymore. Overall I loved their ramen! Very well seasoned and so taste so good. I got their spicy ramen and comes with pieces of pork belly. They have a combo option, one bowl of ramen with either your choice of dumplings or california rolls. And it's a pretty huge bowl too. I definitely recommended this place. Only thing I noticed is that they don't have AC, both times I've gone they have portable fans and the door opened. Came on a random Wednesday night for a quick bite. The waiter was friendly. We ordered the baked mussels, two miso soups, the Washington and Jessica rolls. The rolls came out first, followed by the miso and then the mussels. It felt a bit odd that the appetizer and soup came out last but not an issue at all. The rolls were ok, the fish seemed fresh enough. They felt like they were almost the same roll, but that might be our fault for not picking two complete opposites. The mussels were extremely small (took up less than half the shell) but the flavor was good. Now the miso soup... It didn't have any tofu, and the only spoons available were the small, white, plastic carry out kind. It was also beyond salty, so much that I couldn't eat it. We were not given any water after we said no to a bought beverage so we had to call our waiter over for some water to wash down the salt. IPPA sushi is now one of my go to sushi restaurants! It's hard to find sushi spots in Southeast LA, so i'm super glad that they opened up in the Bell plaza. They recently opened and I'm glad I have Their menu is pretty extensive-- you'll find things like ramen, gyoza, sushi rolls, etc. Note: see their menu online if you like looking at pictures of what you're going to order. Their rolls are huge and definitely shareable (though I definitely finished one on my own). I haven't tried the ramen here but I am going to next time.
