Disappointed with the pricing transparency at this sushi restaurant. The prices listed on the wall menu and the handout menu did not match what we were actually charged. When the bill arrived, the item was $2 more than the advertised price. If prices have changed, all menus should be updated accordingly so customers know what they are agreeing to pay. The food was fine, but inconsistent pricing leaves a bad impression and feels misleading. When I asked about the discrepancy, the owner stated that the prices had changed three years ago but they haven't been able to update their menus. The service was extremely slow. I understand if it's busy, it was a Sunday night, but in that case, more staff should be hired. It took a while to get our order after we sat ourselves and were acknowledged, and another long wait for the food. Table service was bad, nobody came up to us one to check in, although the waitress was friendly. Again, probably need to hire more staff. It was packed and they asked us to move tables in the middle of our meal when a different table became available just because it would be more space for the waitress to move around, which is odd and inconvenient. Why have the table open and available there then? It also strikes me in bad taste that the menu is printed with their "old" prices crossed out with new ones, it's tacky, don't overcharge in the first place. The poritions were small, my ramen bowl was filled less than halfway and didn't taste great, the meat was bland and broth was watered down. My husband and I have been craving ramen, so we decided to try this place for the first time. The restaurant itself is very cute and cozy, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing. The service was okay but a bit slow. We ordered chicken ramen, spam musubi, yakisoba, a soda, and the Pinnacle lemonade. The lemonade was extremely sweet and honestly tasted like old, rotten pineapple. I sent it back and let the waitress know I just didn't like it and wouldn't be drinking it. An owner came over to ask about the lemonade. When we explained that it was just too sweet for us and tasted off, he repeatedly insisted that it's "very popular" and that "everybody loves it." He then told us it didn't taste rotten and implied we were wrong. The interaction felt dismissive and rude rather than helpful. As for the food: * The ramen was very bland and lacked flavor. * The yakisoba was extremely salty. We actually ended up mixing the yakisoba into the ramen to give it some flavor, and it was better that way. * The spam musubi tasted good, but unfortunately we found hair in it after we had already eaten most of it. My husband also ordered the tempura sampler, which according to the menu includes shrimp, popcorn chicken, calamari, onion, and potato. However, it also came with fried jalapeños, which were not listed on the menu. My husband bit into one unexpectedly, which wasn't pleasant since we weren't told they were included. After we left, neither of us felt well. We both became nauseous and had stomach pain shortly after eating. While we can't say for certain what caused it, it honestly felt like possible food poisoning, which made the whole experience even worse. Overall, while the restaurant has a cute atmosphere, the food quality, cleanliness concerns, and the way the owner handled feedback left a bad impression. I tried their Tonkatsu Ramen and it was pretty mediocre. I'm not sure what I was expecting but it came with a side of Katsu and cabbage salad which was good but the ramen itself was kinda bland. The noodles were cooked way too long and were too soft, almost like if you keep instant ramen noodles sitting for too long. The broth was not rich and more like soupy. They had an interesting teriyaki chicken roll...I've never ever seen that before. The price was more than expected for a small restaurant like this, I was kinda surprised. I think they had a set that came with california rolls and the teriyaki chicken roll for $14-16! The ramen was around $18-19 and I've had cheaper ramen in LB that's way better quality.
