    Pizza

This was our first dinner in Italy and after trying numerous other places this still has been the best part! Best pizza I've ever had, super light and fluffy and delicious.

Small, bright, low key, and clean pizza joint with great pizza. We enjoyed the La Carogna and Truffle white pizza with sausage and mushrooms. Crust is super thin, which is exactly how I like it. Just the right amount of cheese and meat, too. No complaints.

Nduja sausage and salami on the right was superb!

A bit of a hole in the wall that clearly gets a lot of business as people come and go from the Piazza Michelangelo. The pizzas were great and the menu is huge! Nearly every combination of toppings you could think of. I got a pizza with nduja, salami, mozzarella. It was fantastic. The crust was fluffy on the outside but thin and tasty on the interior. Really good. My wife had a veggie pizza but it lacked tomato sauce. So just read the menu options carefully. Would definitely return

The best crust you may ever have in your life, literally. I've never seen crust as tall as this with so much bounce and a crispy top. It's a bit out of the way from the city center but it's worth the trek out here just to try the crust. The pizza itself is delicious too of course. We had the margherita and the honeymoon, both are worth getting especially the honeymoon. Usually I find multi-cheese pizzas super heavy and overly cheesy but this one strikes the perfect balance. The Sweetness of the honey offsets the sharpness of the truffles beautifully. It's one of the most memorable bites from our Italy trip.

Stopped by to get some veggie pizza and it was goooood. Located right at the foot of the stairs up the Michaelangelo plaza--so my advice is to get a box to-go, grab a bottle of wine, and take it all up the steps for an amazing view of the city with people playing music and an awesome crowd chilling on the steps with food and drink. You're welcome!! So sad I didn't know this before hand! Definitely give this spot and stop. Family run and super friendly. Good food. Small space but that's all you need to feel cozy.

Great stop for good pizza near Piazza Michelangelo! Food/Drink: We got the classic Margherita pizza with mozzarella cheese and basil for two to share. The crust was fluffy and the mozzarella was delicious. A whole pizza can be cut into 8 pieces which was more than enough for two people and could even feed 3 people. For dessert, we got their specialty nutella Ciccolo which is like a crusty baked hot pocket filled with nutella. Price: They sell pizza by the slice or by the whole pie. The whole pie for something simple as margarita was only 12 euros which is not bad considering you get to eat 4 slices! Atmosphere: This is a very casual restaurant, conveniently located right at the edge of the entrance to piazza Michelangelo. Great stop for a bite before or after your climb! The menus are in english and the wait staff all spoke perfect english so there was no problem at all communicating. The place starts to get busy around 7 pm, when we went for dinner at 6:30 there was no on there! Tips: Would highly recommend the ciccolo for dessert!

This place isn't very busy, especially considering the fact it is right beside Michelangelo Square. The staff are very friendly and speak good English. Heads up- the pizzas are HUGE. We ordered three personal pizzas and one to share for a party of five, assuming the pizzas would be hand-sized at most. They were not. They were around more than a foot in diameter. The crust is rolled extremely thin, yet crispy, and the tomato sauce is fresh (and so is the mozzarella!). If you are looking for a special tasting pizza, try the honeymoon. It has a cheese sauce, truffles, and orange blossom honey. Quite delicious. Of course, at the end, we did have a whole pizza left. The staff kindly gave us a box to take the pizza back to our Airbnb with. If pizza tastes good the day after when you microwave it, you know it's good pizza.

This little pizza place was right across the street from our apartment. It is the ONLY restaurant in all of Rome, Florence, and Munich, that we visited twice. So, there's that. The pizza is fabulous and the service was so nice, both times. Their crust is unbelievable - such a good flavor, perfectly cooked. The first night we went, we had been traveling all day, everything in Firenze was shutting down, and we were desperate. We noticed they were still open and went to grab a pie, not realizing they closed in 30 minutes. The owner never said a word about it and welcomed us so kindly! First night we had a sauceless pizza with spicy salami and mushrooms, and I sadly can not recall the name...started with a p. Helpful, I know - but it was so good! Second night we had the margherita pizza and it was bomb.com - GET THIS. Also, please remember to let your pizza sit for a couple of minutes once it comes to your table, piping hot. The moisture in the toppings is because they're fresh! It will settle and solidify slightly if you give your pizza time to cool a bit. Will absolutely return next time we are in Florence!

    Rocket pizza

This place was right down the street from our Airbnb. We went here after watching the sunset at Piazza Michelangelo (a good place to grab food before and bring up for a picnic!) The place is small and was packed. We had the rocket pizza which was very good. The crust is more crunchy and light. Owners are very passionate and super friendly. Service was amazing.

50% buffalo margherita, 50% truffle and sausage = 100% mouthwatering deliciousness

As far as I'm concerned, this is the best pizza crust in all of Italy (and the best one I've had ever, bar none). It's perfectly crisp on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, and flavorful, too! Make a point of journeying to this little family-owned spot for a taste of the good stuff.

The menu offers a wide variety of neapolitan pizzas with delicious toppings! Great service and wonderful atmosphere.

Margherita DOP and Pinseque small pizzas
    Jeff N.

Great small pizza joint with low prices! We shared the small (but very ample) Margherita DOP and the Pinseque pizzas, both for less than 10 euros each! Purists may cry when not seeing a brick oven, but we really couldn't tell the difference. The slices were thin and the sauce on the Margherita was light, slightly sweet, and very tasty. On the Pinseque, which was a white pizza, the ham and sausage were also extremely good. We had no problems putting down both pizzas (sans some leftover crust) and wish there was something as good and we'll priced back at home. Location wise, it's a little bit out of the city center but still easily walking distance from the uffizi area. Add to the fact that they take credit card and have a friendly waitress, and this puts it above many of the pizza spots in the city.

    THE lasagna. Piatto del giorno

What a hidden gem!!! Don't fall for the tourist trap and eat across the street. This is your quintessential hole in the wall. Decor and cutlery is lacking. But the food is great. Staff super friendly, and service is prompt. On our walk up to an amazing view of Florence we came across this spot. We ordered the Pizza marinara e prosciutto Crudo ( the real stuff not Oscar Mayer® lunch meat ham ) and the plate of the day, Lasagna. This isn't Garfield's lasagna, it's better. Three sheets of pasta, two layers of a meaty bolognese and a thick layer of bechamel hot out of the oven. Find this restaurant. Eat here. Enjoy! For a pizza, lasagna, class of wine and a beer, we got out for €24. Not bad at all. IG - Foodformybelly

No table service here, you order up front and wait at your table for your food to be ready. Great menu selection to choose from. I ordered the regular sized pizza topped with tomato, mozzarella, spicy calabrese salame, and mushrooms. The crust was thin and perfectly crisp. The pizza was fresh and still steaming hot when I brought it back to my hotel which was a 5 minute walk away. The pizza took about 5 minutes to make so if you're in a hurry or hangry, this place is fantastic for a quickly prepared meal.

The #9 was gorgonzola and pear. It came out piping hot and the cheese was almost falling off the pizza it was so fresh. This pizza has changed my understanding of what a great pizza is. Thin, delicious, not greasy, extra cheesy, and combined with the pear perfectly. I thought I'd only eat half, but easily finished all of it because it wad that mind blowing. My wife loved her pizza as well, but sure was jealous of the #9. Now on to the owner. It was just my wife and I and Luciano the owner in the store. He talked to us for a good 15 minutes after we were done eating and even gave us a fresh slice of prosciutto to try after asking if we liked Pork... just because we were talking about how fresh food makes the difference between good and bad food. Such an amazing owner that really puts passion into his product. Give this place a try and you will not be disappointed with the food here!

And super close to the Duomo, water, and other tourist locations, but not a tourist trap guaranteed! One of my favorite Italian ristorantes so far in terms of taste, quality, concept, and value! Also my partner's FAVORITE restaurant so far and I've honestly never seen this man express beyond a nonchalant "it's good" about his food. He was actually describing the textures "perfectly cooked... In that transition phase between cooked and uncooked" (he means Al dente) and flavors of his spaghetti Pomodoro to me with shining eyes that only foodies have. Omg it was a memorable moment for both of us, the food was truly that delicious. Try one of their many prix fixe menus - 10, 15 (the only vegetarian friendly prix fixe), 20, or 24 (meat eaters only). Water or housemade wine (yes! The owner lady makes her own!) + primi + secondi. Unfortunately these options are not vegan friendly, but the regular menu has plenty of variety for everyone. Portion sizes here btw are HUGE. Unsalted "bland" bread characteristic of Tuscany was served to start, which is included in the mandatory 1.50 euro cover charge per person. However, not sure if owners were being kind, we were not charged this tonight. Partner ordered the 15 euro prix fixe (vegetarian available) dinner. Do try their pasta options - simple but finest quality and cooked to perfection. His eggplant parmesan secondi was smaller than expected, but perfect because the primi was gigantic. I ordered the seafood 20 euro prix fixe dinner and asked for dairy-free. Ricotta with prawns was creamy (but has no cream or butter or cheese upon my request) and huge and a bit spicy, but that's what made it so interesting. The salmon trout with salad secondi was smaller than expected, but perfect size overall because the risotto primi was so big. The salmon was average, not the best I've had, probably because it is not buttered, but on the drier end which I like. They take cards - MasterCard, visa, and american express. Will most likely be back :)
