I would definitely recommend iPhone iPhix to my friends for their iPhone repair needs. Disclaimer: If you are still covered by Apple warranty, you should pay the extra to get your screen fixed at an Apple store. If you get it fixed anywhere else, the warranty will be void. That said, I came with my sister to get her screen repaired. I believe Ren was the one who was helping us. A screen repair takes about 30 minutes. Unfortunately for us, the first two replacements did not work correctly because the screen was not correctly receiving inputs. As a result, we had to wait for an hour and a half because the third time was the charm and worked correctly. However, Ren was very apologetic and did his best to work on the phone until it was repaired correctly. His friends?/coworkers? were also super nice and offered us drinks and some of the pizza they had ordered while we were waiting. Prices are very reasonable and almost seem under market price for a screen repair. It seems as if you can also pay extra to get OEM parts used instead of aftermarket parts. Do not use cell phone repair services- Use your insurance! I used Iphone Iphix and ended up having to buy a brand new phone after their "handy work" destroyed my phone. If I can get at least 5 people to reconsider and not use this company- it would satisfy some of the money, time and stress I have spent dealing with these clowns. They are consummate unprofressionals to the highest degree and should not be trusted with your technology. After going back and forth with one of the owners on Yelp about fixing my droid phone screen for months I was finally told to go into their shop. When I arrived they said they would fix the phone and I left a deposit. I had a small crack was on the bottom portion of the screen over the navigation buttons. I had to go back to drop the phone off because they said they had to "order" the screen and parts. After a couple of days I go back to pick up my phone and noticed the screen was not flush. There was a gap between the screen and body. The guy said it had been clipped to hold it down but it should be fine. Initial use indicated the screen was no longer cracked and responsive. However, Later that evening and into the next morning the screen was both non responsive and hyper responsive. The screen had also begun to lift. I took a video of it and went back the very next day. Was told by them the 'adhesive likely did not set well'. They observed the video as well as the screen not responding or over responding to swiping and pointing. He said they needed to take a look at it and possibly order a part. I explained I had friends coming from out of town and needed a phone. They said to "baby it" or it would void the warranty. I had to call multiple times to find out whether the "part" they needed to order was in and when to bring my phone back. Returned phone to shop to drop phone off. The screen was still acting up. They said come back in 2 days. A couple of days later, I went by early and waited until shop opened, picked up phone. Spoke to one of the owners. Said they checked everything out and it should be fine now. Tested the screen sensitivity it worked fine. Called the shop at 6:31pm that evening because I realized that the phone was not ringing, could not hear notifications, video, or music. Was able to talk on the phone but could not hear it ring. The sound coming in had seemed diminished but others were able to hear me fine. They acted surprised but said to bring it back. Brought phone in around 1 p.m. the next day, explained latest error again. Was told they would make sure it worked. A day later I WENT AGAIN TO PICK it up- I tested the things that were associated with this latest round of repairs. I tested the speaker phone by calling my mother, the speaker phone worked and I could hear her(7:41 pm) but she called me back and kept saying she could not hear me. After several attempts to call her between (7:41 & 7:51 p.m.) I drove around the block to see if the problem was related to a low signal bar BUT she could not hear me. I called the shop (7:53 p.m.) and the rep on duty COULDN'T EVEN HEAR ME. I returned right back to the shop to determine why no one could hear me. He was working on another customer and said he would call another technician who would be there shortly. I waited until the other tech arrived and checked my phone. They gave me a completely ludicrous explanation saying, "[repairs] are often tedious" and that the wires and screws are miniscule and sometimes when they make adjustments to one thing it could disturb another function. Basically they were saying they messed up because in trying to fix one thing they broke another and another function. They didn't fix my phone that night and the next day I Called the shop, spoke with one of the managers regarding what they planned to do about my pending repairs. Was informed they needed to check on the status of the of the part they ordered and they would be in touch. They never called. I pursued action through my bank and the BBB but to no avail. Can you believe these jerks sent me a $40 check and a fidget spinner?! The value of my phone was at least $100 and it was insulting they would send me a toy after all of this. I had to buy a new phone because they rendered my phone useless for calls. Heed my warning- using your phone service insurance (if you have it) protects you in cases like this. In the long run it could be cheaper and less of a headache. Don't get fooled by a $50 deal. read more

Pretty frustrated with this place. I received an initial quote and headed in the second I could escape from work. I arrived around 3/3:30 PM and found a note on the door saying "out to lunch be back in an hour." Ok, no problem, people need to eat lunch, so I went across the street and grabbed food myself to wait. When I came back, they were still closed. I called and left a voicemail and sent an email seeing if they'd be back around or if I should come back another day with no reply. Naturally my boss started calling and texting me, "where are you?" so I split. If you are going out to lunch for an hour, maybe leave the time, or just put closed if you're not coming back. It's 2PM the next day and I still have not received a call or email back. I then arrived this morning at 10:30 AM, when it say they open on their website and yelp, but no sign of the place opening. Ok it's LA, people hit traffic, etc. so I waited as long as I could which again, ended with my boss texting me, "Where are you?". I have since tried calling today before heading in and can't get anyone on the phone. I am now happy to spend the extra $20 to get my phone fixed with another shop up the street that values their customers time. The funny thing is, the other shop up the street has a review saying they found the place because the original place they were trying to go near by was never open, I'd have to believe they were referring to this place. He actually broke my phone and then refused to fix it! I've never felt the need to post a negative review on yelp before. But the experience here has actually caused a big inconvenience for me. Furthermore I'm a freelancer myself so I understand that you have to take ownership of your mistakes. The summarized version is I came to him with a mostly working camera on my iPhone 7 and left with a totally non functional one. The situation is a little complex so let me lay out the details. My rear camera had a really minor issue- a few light spots in the image. I actually just thought the lens was dirty and was hoping he could clean it. I've attached a photo I took with the phone before giving it to him so you can see the spots yourself. He told me that most of the spots were caused by a defective lens and that there also might be a motherboard issue. The lens would be $65 to fix and the motherboard would be over $100 if it was an issue. He offered to fit a new lens and see if that fixed the issue. If I decided to keep it, he would charge, and if not, he would put back the old part free of charge. He tried and the issue was mostly better. But apparently the motherboard issue was there still, and might get worse over time. There were still 1-2 light spots on the image. I told him it wasn't worth all these repairs because the camera already functioned well enough for me, and the repairs would start approaching the cost of a used phone. So he put the old lens back on and didn't charge. I didn't realize until the next day that the rear camera now doesn't work at all. It makes a strange noise and tries to focus endlessly without actually focusing. The second photo I attached shows an attempt to take a photo now. Today I finally got a chance to go back in. He told me "I told you so" basically, that he had warned me the motherboard issue might get worse over time. Are you serious? The exact moment you "fix" my phone it stops working, and you're going to shake your head and call it a coincidence? Then he told me he is not liable for the damage he caused it. I understand it is an unfortunate position to put him in. He was trying to do me a favor, and he accidentally broke the phone. But look at my point of view: I could have sold this phone as working (with a very minor defect.) now I have to sell it as having a major flaw. That probably knocks $100 off the price. So I offered that he could fit the new part for a discount so we could both take responsibility for the issue. He offered me $10 off but that's almost full price to repair an issue he caused. If I had stayed home I guarantee my camera would still be working now. He told me that maybe dust got into the phone when he was fixing it. So even if you think it was my responsibility and not his, then be warned that his work environment might damage your phone. When he "fixed" my phone he handed it back to me without indicating there was anything wrong with it. If he was competent or careful shouldn't he have known it was malfunctioning?! I mean come on, his defense basically amounts to "you should have known better than to let me open your phone." read more

My iPhone6's screen was bowing up so much I could see the insides but it held a charge and all the buttons were working. I came in 1st thing at opening time 10:30. Ren took a look: "Your battery's blown up." "Impossible I say. It's holding a charge." "Let's take a look." He unscrews the screen, removes the board, and underneath the battery is swollen in its center pushing everything upward.
