There seemed to be a technical difficulty with the website not registering properly so our check in process was a bit lengthy. Overall, the employees were great and told us which direction we could follow. Eventually we ended up just us 2 (separate kayaks) and I'm so glad we brought a portable speaker because we were able to curate the vibes on such a romantic day. The views were immaculate and I even told some coworkers about it in case they were interested in purchasing. Can't complain on the experience!

We met with Rick, who, despite working solo that morning and being on his lunch ran back to accommodate us. We noticed the front door walking to the paddle board place NEXT door and I'm so glad we did - this spot was 1/2 the price and the customer service was excellent. We rented 2 kayaks (one single and one tandem) for an hour due to time constraints. Rick fit us in the schedule and showed us a map of where made sense for us to go with the time we had. The price included the cost of the kayaks, water for everyone in a cooler, cases to protect our phones from water and keep them attached to us, a wet/dry bag to keep all our stuff dry and a waterproof bluetooth speaker. They sanitized everything before we used it, walked the boats down to the water, showed us how to get in and had us text them to meet us to bring everything back. All that for $20 per person for the hour! Also, online it said they were sold out, but we walked in and they were able to accommodate, so def worth calling or walking in to see even if it looks like they are booked up. They also offer guided tours which I want to try, including a sunset nightime tour which sounds awesome. As repeat customers, you get a free half hour for free or 20% off the guided tours. 100% will be back!

We met our instructor, Maria, and her mom, who came along for the ride. Maria was awesome--happy, full of energy, and super easy to work with. Our original session was scheduled for Saturday, but when we arrived, the eFoil boards were having connectivity issues with their app. Maria apologized and said she'd check in with the shop owner to see if we could reschedule. In the meantime, she let us use paddleboards for free, so we still got to enjoy some time on the water. The next morning (Sunday), Maria texted to say everything was working again, so we headed back for a noon session--and it was an absolute blast. I needed to renew my ACA instructor certification and wanted to get WPA instructor certification, so I did an ACA Level 1 and 2 SUP workshop and WPA level 1 SUP instructor training/certification with TFY. Meghan is the best SUP instructor/instructor trainer I've had. She's obviously very knowledgeable, but more importantly, she's also awesome at conveying that knowledge. We covered a huge amount of information in the ACA L1/2 workshop, but she made it manageable and easily understandable. The welcome letter she sends prior to class is very helpful and lets you know what to bring, the schedule, and what to expect. Her videos are also extremely helpful to watch beforehand. I thought the ACA workshop would be largely review for me, but I was surprised by how much I learned. She's also very upbeat, encouraging, and patient, and her low-pressure approach creates the perfect environment for learning. She taught high school math for 9 years, and I think her background in education plus her SUP knowledge and skills make her an outstanding instructor and instructor trainer. I'm looking forward to returning for ACA L1/2 instructor certification training.

We checked in, left an ID, signed their waiver, and then we were off to get life vests and paddles/kayaks. They also rent bikes and paddle boards. (We stuck with kayaking for the day.) the weather was gorgeous and the water and scenery beautiful once we got out. I would recommend taking lunch and picnicking on their many tables or surrounding grass area. Another tip, show your reservation for kayaking to the guard/park entrance official that you booked a trip with VKOC and they will waive the $8 park fee. And then enjoy the beaches and scenery.
